E3’s cancellation might have left some gamers disheartened, but it’s far from a gaming drought this summer. The Summer Games Fest and other events are gearing up to entertain with fresh announcements and trailers for all your favorite games.
A Cascade of Gaming Events: A Sneak Peek
While these events may not directly link to the E3 organizer, they promise a plethora of new content for gamers. The Summer Games Fest 2023, helmed by industry veteran Geoff Keighley, kicks off the fun at the YouTube Theatre in LA on June 8, 2023, with no specific time yet disclosed.

Sony and Nintendo are also rumored to be planning their gaming events for the summer, though nothing is confirmed yet. Microsoft has confirmed an Xbox Showcase followed by a Starfield Direct on June 11, 2023. Ubisoft Forward, scheduled for June 12, will provide fans a glimpse into the future of the “Assassins Creed” series.
Sony and Nintendo: Potential Summer Events
There’s speculation about a PlayStation Showcase, as fans have been waiting for two years. Insider Jeff Grubb believes Sony will put on a grand show for the PS5 before Microsoft’s Summer Game Fest. However, there’s no confirmation yet.
Nintendo has also been tight-lipped. With Nintendo’s lineup for 2023 looking sparse, they may also plan an event. The rumored Nintendo Direct might even provide a sneak peek into the distant future, potentially revealing the hardware successor to the Nintendo Switch.
