Previous episode synopsis

Tanjiro battled Daki, who willingly destroyed the district at the cost of human lives. The rage in Tanjiro built until he let out a powerful Hinokami Kagura attack, nearly decapitating her. During the entire battle, Tanjiro didn’t breathe, almost suffocating himself so he could unleash powerful attack after powerful attack. A vision of Nezuko caused him to breathe, but collapsing from the loss of air. As Daki approached, Nezuko appeared, challenging her to a battle. However, Daki got the better of Nezuko, who still hasn’t fully attuned to her demon body.

“Transformation” – Demon Slayer season 2 episode 7 synopsis

The episode began with Nezuko struggling to her feet. She called froth more power that crushed her bamboo gag and popped her veins, little vines seemingly appearing on her skin like tattoos. A single demon horn appeared over her right eye. She attacked Upper Moon Six Daki, and even though Daki dismembered Nezuko’s arm and leg, Nezuko was still able to kick her to the ground with the leg that was just dismembered.

After the credits, Nezuko is standing with her leg in Daki’s ack, the same leg she cut off. Daki marvels at Nezuko’s regenerative capabilities, exceeding her own. Nezuko took pleasure in her attacks.

Tanjiro is seen unconscious as his younger brother, Takeo, appears in his mind and urges him to awaken “Or our sister…won’t ever be herself anymore!” Tanjiro awakes, but it cuts to Nezuko, gleefully stomping away at Daki. Daki is able to decapitate Nezuko and her limbs, but Nezuko congeals her blood, maintaining control, stopping Daki’s attack. Nezuko then ignites her blood splatter on Daki, burning in her with her Blood Demon Art. This prompts a brief flashback for Daki, who appears to have been caught in a fire before becoming a demon.

Nezuko begins sadistically beating Daki, her skin red where the blood burned. Breathing heavily, Nezuko approaches Daki, who she sent through several buildings, but stops when she sees two women cowering in fear. One is cut, which triggers the demon side of Nezuko. Her teeth chatter at the thought of human blood, but as she lunges for the woman, Tanjiro appears and uses his sheathed sword to shield her mouth from behind. Tanjiro apologizes for making her fight so much. She jumps through the ceiling into another room, trying to free herself, but Daki reappears, saying they had some nerve to do that to her.

She noted that Nezuko can also use a Blood Demon Art, one that only burns demons that hinders the regenerative abilities as well. As Daki is about to attack, Tengen Uzui appears and prevents the attack. He focuses on Nezuko, saying she’s become a flashy demon. He scolds Tanjiro for “this sorry state” after pleading to the Master (Kagaya Ubuyashiki).

Daki notes that Uzui is a Hashira (Pillar), the Sound Hashira. He enrages her, telling her he wasn’t talking to her and she should get lost, ending it by saying she’s no Upper Rank because she’s too weak. Uzui says shes not the one he’s searching for. As she begins to respond, her head falls into her hands as Uzui’s decapitation finally hits.

After the mid-episode interlude, Inosuke is shown yelling on top of a roof, upset they lost Uzui. Zenitsu, still with makeup and bows in his air, is there, but in his sleep state. They hear a big explosion and head toward the sound as Inosuke says, “Mountain God, Lord Inosuke, is comin’ through!

Uzui tells Tanjiro the battle isn’t over and to gain control of his sister. She launches herself out of the top of the building with her brother on her back, landing on him on the ground. Still, Tanjiro holds on and thinks of how to bring her senses back. He thinks of her mother and Uzui saying to sing her a lullaby. He struggles, but says the word of the lullaby (not really singing), even suffering headbutts from his sister along the way. The words finally reach her as she, in her mindscape, is laying at her mother’s knees as he mother begins singing the same lullaby.

They show Nezuko as a young child walking with her mom, baby Tanjiro strapped to the mother’s back. Back in real time, Nezuko begins crying, wailing like a child. The tattooed vines disappear, the horn goes away, and Nezuko reverts to a smaller form and falls asleep immediately at her brother’s feet. Tanjiro cries out, telling his mom that Nezuko is asleep.

Back in the building, Daki tells Uzui he’ll pay for this, and he just tells her to die an unflashy death already. They argue over her being an actual Upper Rank Demon of the Twelve Kizuki (Demon Moons), but Uzui just says, “Then, why is your head in your hands? That’s beyond weak!” She is adamant about becoming stronger, but Uzui just blows her off, causing her to cry. It finally hits Uzui that she’s still alive and talking even though she’s been beheaded. Daki calls out for her brother. Uzui rushes to behead him as he emerges from Daki’s sash, but even Uzui isn’t fast enough.

He turns to see Daki with her head reattached as her brother consoles her – her brother resembling a skinny blonde Akuma from the back. Her brother heals her of her burns. Uzui tries to attack, but her brother turns to stop the attack. Uzui is shown with a cut across his headband and some blood from his face as Upper Rank Six flashed on the demon’s eye. He said he was going for the kill, so, “Good for you, man.” His speech is almost drunk in away, a bit slurry and elongated. He compliments Uzui on his flawless skin, muscles, and being over six feet tall, saying Uzui probably gets a lot attention to the ladies. He said he envies Uzui as he scratches some of his own skin away. Daki asks him to promise to take out the one who burned her as well, saying they all ganged up and bullied her, which he said is unforgivable. He says he’s going to massacre everyone with his two short sickles. He announces that he is Gyutaro.

He launches his sickles at Uzui, sending them out of the building as Tanjiro notices the sickles are different and wonders if a new demon appeared. Inosuke and Zenitsu appear, Tanjiro asking them to help Uzui as he retreats with Nezuko. Back inside, Uzui is shown to have protected the two humans remaining in the room, though he took more damage. Uzui tells Guytaro that, “I’m a flashy, glamorous ladies’ man” with three wives, further enraging Gyutaro. He releases his Blood Demon Art: Flying Blood Sickles. Uzui sends out some small grenades to drop them below to avoid the Blood Sickles. Gyutaro can freely control them, and Uzui does his best to fight against them. He wonders if he has to decapitate them both to win. He sends his small grenades around the building, using his Sound abilities to see no one was left in the building. Daki protected herself and her brother in a big ball of her sashes, the episode ending preparing for the rest of the battle.

The end of episode info was on Nezuko, who would always comfort her siblings.
