EA Sports FC 24: Top 5 Easiest Skills for Beginners

EA FC24 Beginner's Guide: Mastering Easy Skills for Success

In this guide, we’re going to take a look at the most important basic skill moves you need to know in EA Sports FC 24

Once defending became a lot more difficult in the new game, the skill moves became more efficient. So, it’s well worth learning how and when to deploy even the most simple skills.

Here, we’re homing in on the top five easiest skills for beginners to use in EA Sports FC 24 from our total skill moves guide. Without further ado, let’s dive into the basic skill moves and how to perform them.

1. Ball Roll

The first skill move that any beginner should learn in EA Sports FC 24 is the Ball Roll. Ball Roll is the most efficient skill move in the game; it’s one of the easiest skills to activate that allows you to shield the ball while changing direction.

With the help of this skill, you can create new passing and shooting angles. The only requirement that it has is that you need to perform this skill with a player that has at least a two-star skill level.

To be able to perform a Ball Roll, slightly push the analogue stick either towards your player’s left or right while you’re not sprinting with that player. If you’re running, make sure that you let go of the sprint button.

With the Ball Roll, you can dodge incoming defensive movements. You can also create new passing lanes and massive goal-scoring angles with this skill move.

2. Step Overs

This skill move can be done by players with at least a two-star skill level. It consists of two parts because Step Overs, as a skill group, have a lot of combinations.

The first part is the initial move that you execute with the right analogue stick. The second part is the exit from the move, which is given by the input of the left analogue stick.

When you move the right analogue stick towards your player’s front and rotate 90° towards their left or right, you’ll do a normal Step Over.

If you start the Step Over from your player’s left or right and push the right analogue stick towards their front by rotating it 90°, you will then initiate the Reverse Step Over.

3. Heel to Heel

Heel to Heel is a four-star skill move that gives you a fast push towards the direction that you’re currently facing. It can be really effective in tight situations.

To perform the Heel to Heel skill move in EA Sports FC 24, simply push the right analogue stick towards your player’s front side and then once more to their back.

With this quick skill move, you rapidly push the ball on a short line, which could be very effective against defenders who only try to get the ball from the side.

However, you need to be aware of an opponent attempting to make a move towards the ending point of the Heel to Heel skill move as you may lose possession to them. So, watch the behaviour of surrounding defenders before making the move.

4. Drag Back

The Drag Back is a very old skill move, and for the last couple of years, people have seemingly forgotten the skill because of the introduction of the new ones. As a result, the Drag Back is even deadlier because so few opponents expect it.

A two-star skill move consisting of two parts, you’ll first pull the ball back as you hold the L1 and R1 buttons (or LB and RB on Xbox) together while pushing the left analogue stick towards your player’s back.

For the second part, you select an exit with the left analogue stick (either towards the back or to the side), which means that you get more variations and can use them in different situations.

With a full Drag Back, you can easily turn around and find the open space you desire.

5. Fake Shots

Last but not least on this list of the easiest skills for beginners to learn in EA Sports FC 24 is the Fake Shot. In FIFA 23, the Fake Shot lost its effectiveness a little bit, but in the new game, the Fake Shot is quite exceptional.

Since defenders are not that agile, sharp turns with the Fake Shots are very reliable. There are a lot of variations to play with when performing Fake Shots, but here, I’m going to introduce you to the two key ones: the regular Fake Shot and the Scoop Turn. Both are very easy to perform.

To perform the normal Fake Shott, first press the cross button (Square or X) or shoot button (O or B), followed by the pass button (X or A).

You can perform the Fake Shot in any direction, but I find it more useful with a 90° turn either towards the left or right-hand side of the player. These angles make for sharper turns and get rid of defenders.

To perform the Scoop Turn, you have to use a player with a four or five-star skill level. All you need do is to execute the Fake Shot explained above but with a 45° angle turn.

Once you’ve mastered these basic skills, you’ll have even more of an upper hand in your games against the cumbersome defending mechanics of EA Sports FC 24. If you have any questions feel free to let me know in the comment section below.
