Germany has an abundance of talent coming through the Bundesliga with the likes of Timo Werner and Kai Havertz both getting big-money moves to Chelsea this summer.
It’s evident with the academy set-up that Germany will have a near-endless supply of talented youngsters while boasting some of the best players in the world.
This article will showcase the highest-rated German players in FIFA 21, the top five of which will feature in the body. At the foot of the article, you can see all of the players rated 80 and above from Germany.
Marc-André ter Stegen (90 OVR)

Team: FC Barcelona
Position: GK
Age: 28
Overall Rating: 90
Country: Germany
Best Attributes: 90 Goalkeeper Reflexes, 88 Goalkeeper Positioning, 88 Goalkeeper Diving
His club may be in transition, but there aren’t any doubts about the quality that Marc-André ter Stegen possesses in goal for Barcelona.
His play was relatively strong last season, finishing with the third-most clean sheets in La Liga behind Thibaut Courtois.
The German is still considered the number-two goalie in the eyes of national team coach Jogi Löw, but in FIFA 21, there’s some consolation in him by being rated higher than Manuel Neuer.
Ter Stegen is the only German player to reach a 90 rating in this year’s game. His attribute ratings of 90 goalkeeper reflexes, 88 goalkeeper positioning, and 88 goalkeeper diving make Ter Stegen a fine option in goal.
Manuel Neuer (89 OVR)

Team: FC Bayern Munich
Position: GK
Age: 34
Overall Rating: 89
Country: Germany
Best Attributes: 91 Goalkeeper Kicking, 89 Goalkeeper Reflexes, 87 Goalkeeper Handling
For the second time in his career, Manuel Neuer has won the treble with Bayern Munich, this time under Hans-Dieter Flick to repeat the feat they achieved seven years ago.
A big part of why Bayern Munich were near-unbeatable was the goalkeeping of Neuer. It was almost as though the impending signing of Alexander Nübel motivated the 34-year old to have one of his best seasons to date.
What you get with Neuer in FIFA 21 is a keeper who is excellent with the ball and always looking to trigger a piercing counter-attack.
His 91 goalkeeper kicking, 89 goalkeeper reflexes, and 87 goalkeeper handling mean that Neuer stands among the best goalies in the game.
Joshua Kimmich (88 OVR)

Team: Bayern Munich
Position: CDM
Age: 25
Overall Rating: 88
Weak Foot: Four-Star
Country: Germany
Best Attributes: 95 Stamina, 91 Crossing, 89 Aggression
Once compared to Philipp Lahm, Joshua Kimmich has forged a path as an excellent right-back and defensive midfielder who can also provide an offensive threat.
Kimmich was pivotal in Bayern Munich’s treble-winning season, playing in both of his preferred roles. However, with the departure of Thiago Alcântara, there is a spot open a bit higher up the field if Flick wants to shift the Rottwell-native.
From last season’s FIFA, Kimmich gets a two-point rating increase from 86 OVR to 88 OVR, with his best position switching from RB to CDM.
Kimmich has great stats from the start of FIFA 21, which include 95 stamina, 91 crossing, and 89 aggression. If you want an elite player who can play in multiple positions, Kimmich should be the first player on your list.
Toni Kroos (88 OVR)

Team: Real Madrid
Best Position: CM
Age: 32
Overall Rating: 88
Skill Moves: Three-Star
Best Attributes: 93 Short Passing, 93 Long Passing, 90 Vision
Toni Kroos has been a consistent performer for Real Madrid, even when the spotlight was solely on Cristiano Ronaldo. Without the Portuguese superstar at Los Blancos, the likes of Kroos have had to shoulder more of the heavy lifting.
Kroos had another strong campaign, helping Real Madrid to win their first La Liga title since 2017. The Greifswald-native was pivotal in the middle of the park, completing 94 per cent of 2,363 attempted passes in all competitions.
In FIFA 21, Kroos is a great option for possession-based sides, with his 93 short passing and 93 long passing enabling you to move the ball around with ease. To maximise the attribute ratings of Kroos, you’ll want to play him in his preferred position of CM.
Thomas Müller (86 OVR)

Team: Bayern Munich
Best Position: CAM
Age: 31
Overall/Potential: 86
Skill Moves: Three-Star
Best Attributes: 94 Positioning, 94 Reactions, 86 Stamina
It seems relatively rare that a player comes through the Bayern Munich academy and manages to be a mainstay in the first team. Several graduate and then feature elsewhere, but Thomas Müller is one of the few – like Bastian Schweinsteiger and Philipp Lahm – from this millennium to play hundreds of games for the club that developed him.
His efforts in the previous campaign are criminally underrated. While he doesn’t score as many goals as he once did, it’s his ability to find teammates in better positions than himself which resulted in Bayern Munich wins. Müller sealed 21 assists last season – by far the best in the Bundesliga.
Players get a robust attacker who boasts excellent ratings for his positioning (94) and reactions (94). This is great when you’re trying to win the ball back, and it comes in handy going forward when you need Müller to time his run.
Your tactical options are aplenty with the versatile German, but behind the striker is where Müller does the most damage. If needed, though, he can be deployed as the striker or even out wide.
