FIFA 22: Real Madrid Player Ratings

Discover what ratings your favourite Los Blancos stars have in FIFA 22.

Real Madrid are one of the biggest clubs in the world and have been for a long time. Their involvement with the recently attempted Super League may have tarnished their reputation with fans around the world, but nonetheless they remain among the most popular clubs in football.

They are the team with the most La Liga titles in history with 34, their most recent having come in the 2019/2020 season. Madrid have also won the most Champions League titles with 13, six more than second-placed AC Milan.

Questions were asked of Real Madrid when a guy named Cristiano Ronaldo left in 2018, but players have stepped in his void, most notably Karim Benzema. In Ronaldo’s last season with Real, Benzema scored five goals in La Liga, but in the three years since then he’s managed 21, 21 and 23 respectively.

In this article we will discuss Real Madrid’s best players in FIFA 22. We will focus on the top seven players in detail before providing a table at the foot of the article with all the best Real Madrid players in FIFA 22.

Karim Benzema (89 OVR – 89 POT)

Team: Real Madrid
Best Position: CF
Age: 33
Overall Rating: 89

Weak Foot: Four-Star
Best Attributes: 91 reactions, 90 finishing, 90 positioning

Karim Benzema is enjoying his best ever start to a domestic campaign, scoring eight goals in just his first seven games of the season. These numbers add to an already comprehensive tally with the side, with the Frenchman having scored 287 times and accumulated 151 assists in his Madrid career to date.

Benzema has played for national side France on 90 occasions, but that number would be a lot higher if not for a dispute with the team in 2015 which led to a six-year hiatus. In his 90 games, he’s scored 31 goals for his country.

Lethal from both the air with 89 heading accuracy and the floor with 91 reactions, 90 finishing, 90 composure, and 90 positioning, Benzema can score in a myriad of ways. His 77 acceleration and 75 sprint are not particularly high but his link up play with 87 vision and 86 short passing makes him a dangerous player with the ball at his feet.

Thibaut Courtois (89 OVR – 91 POT)

Team: Real Madrid
Best Position: GK
Age: 29
Overall Rating: 89
Weak Foot: Three-Star
Best Attributes: 89 handling, 88 reflexes, 86 positioning

Goalkeepers that play on good teams and have good defences in front of them usually don’t stand out statistically. Great players, however, regularly find themselves playing on great teams, and with two league titles in both England and Spain, it’s fair to say that Courtois is a great goalkeeper.

For Atletico Madrid, Courtois was part of a back line that kept 20 clean sheets in consecutive seasons leading to a La Liga title. Six years later and now on the other side of Madrid, Courtois has added to his list of career achievements, having won La Liga with Real Madrid in 2019/2020.

Courtois’ 74 kicking and three-star weak foot is the only concern with his ratings on FIFA 22. Beyond that, he has 89 handling, 88 reflexes, 86 positioning, and 84 diving. At 29 years old, he should still have some of his best years ahead of him at the highest level.

Casemiro (89 OVR – 89 POT)

Team: Real Madrid
Best Position: CDM
Age: 29
Overall Rating: 89
Weak Foot: Three-Star
Best Attributes: 91 aggression, 90 strength, 89 stamina

Casemiro averaged two and half tackles and over two interceptions per game last season, and was the only player to average over two in both categories in La Liga. His ability to break up play was pivotal for Real Madrid, enabling the Spanish giants to regularly force their opposition into turnovers.

After making his debut for Brazil in 2011, it has only been in the last four years that Casemiro has really established himself in the team. The 29-year-old has even captained the side in recent games as Thiago Silva’s career winds down.

Casemiro is a beast on FIFA 22. With 91 aggression, 90 strength, and 87 jumping, he is difficult to outmuscle both in the air and on the floor. His high attacking and defensive work rate make him effective at both ends of the pitch, with his 88 shot power making him a dangerous prospect in the opposing half.

Toni Kroos (88 OVR – 88 POT)

Team: Real Madrid
Best Position: CM
Age: 31
Overall Rating: 88
Weak Foot: Five-Star
Best Attributes: 93 short passing, 93 long passing, 90 vision

Having played most of his career for Bayern Munich and current club Real Madrid, Kroos has racked up plenty of accolades over the past decade. He is a World Cup winner, four-time Champions League winner, two-time La Liga winner and two-time Bundesliga winner.

Kroos is one of the best passers in world football. Last season, he averaged 2.4 key passes per game, the most in the league, while he also assisted on ten goals in 24 appearances.

With 93 short passing, 93 long passing, and 90 vision, Kroos can pick out and make almost any pass available to him. The German midfielder is also adept under pressure in the middle of the park with 90 reactions, 88 ball control, and 88 composure.

Luka Modrić (87 OVR – 87 POT)

Team: Real Madrid
Best Position: CM
Age: 35
Overall Rating: 87
Weak Foot: Four-Star
Best Attributes: 92 composure, 92 balance, 91 short passing

Luka Modrić is the only player to win a Ballon d’Or not called Ronaldo or Messi since 2007. He is not known for his goal or assist tallies, but his movement and ability on the ball allows Real Madrid’s attacking players to shine.

The 35-year-old is the most capped Croatian player having represented the national side on 142 occasions, and also sits seventh on the all-time scoring list with 18. He was instrumental in Croatia’s World Cup run to the final in 2018, which ultimately saw them lose 4-2 to France.

Modrić is slippery on FIFA 22 with 92 balance and 91 agility, and his ability to pick out a pass under pressure is stellar with 92 composure, 90 vision, 91 short passing, and 89 long passing. He may not be fast or strong, but when utilised properly he can be very difficult to stop.

Eden Hazard (85 OVR – 85 POT)

Team: Real Madrid
Best Position: LW
Age: 30
Overall Rating: 85
Weak Foot: Four-Star
Best Attributes: 89 dribbling, 89 composure, 89 balance

The roller coaster career of Eden Hazard is unlikely to have had its last rise or fall. Early in his career, a 20-goal and 18-assist season at Lille in 2011/12 was followed by a big money move to Chelsea where Hazard continued to excel before a move to Spain, where he was riddled with injuries, brought his ascendance to a standstill.

Hazard has only been able to play 16 and 14 games in each of the two full seasons he’s been at Real Madrid, and has scored nine goals in that time. At just 30 years old, he will be hoping to put injuries aside and recapture some of his best form in the latter part of his career.

The Belgian boasts 89 dribbling, 88 ball control, and 89 composure, ratings which make him an effective winger. Physically, his 89 balance, 87 agility, and 86 acceleration allow him to blow past defenders and get into positions to score or assist.

Daniel Carvajal (85 OVR – 85 POT)

Team: Real Madrid
Best Position: RB
Age: 29
Overall Rating: 85
Weak Foot: Three-Star
Best Attributes: 89 stamina, 84 sliding tackle, 84 aggression

The full back position has become more attacking in recent years, with many teams opting to play five at the back. However, Carvajal bucks the trend, basing his game on his defensive ability. Injured for most of last season, he will be looking to bounce back in 2021/22.

Carvajal has had stints in the Spanish side but injuries have derailed any consistent run. He does, however, still have 25 appearances for his country, despite the stiff competition he has faced from players such as Chelsea’s Azpilicueta.

Carvajal is a well-rounded defensive player. His 84 sliding tackle, 83 reactions, 82 marking, and 82 standing tackle allow him stop the best attackers, while on the overlap, his 83 ball control and 82 crossing allow him to put decent balls into the box.
