FIFA 21: Tottenham Hotspur Player Ratings

Spurs are blessed with several world-class players, and FIFA 21 will see them again challenging for top honours.

Tottenham Hotspur come into FIFA 21 on the back of José Mourinho’s first chance to bolster the team through a summer transfer period, with Gareth Bale enjoying a homecoming, among other players signing on.

In saying this, outside of Bale, the other members of Tottenham’s highest-rated players are Spurs mainstays who have all been at the club for multiple seasons. Spurs’ trophy drought is well-documented, but their level of quality is undeniable, and silverware is well within their grasp.

In terms of age, Spurs are in the sweet spot with key players in their late 20s and early 30s, and there’s a sprinkling of early-20s talent to complement the stars.

You can find Tottenham Hotspur’s highest-rated players featured below, with all of the Spurs squad player ratings listed in the table at the base of the article.

Harry Kane (88 OVR)

Nationality: English
Best Position: ST
Age: 27
Overall Rating: 88
Skill Moves: Three-Star
Best Attributes: 94 Finishing, 93 Positioning, 91 Shot Power

While undergoing surgery to repair a ruptured tendon in his hamstring derailed his 2019/20 season, Harry Kane ended the campaign in a rich vein of form. The English striker scored five goals in his final three matches of the Premier League, including braces against Leicester City and Newcastle United.

With 24 goals in 34 appearances for Spurs in the Premier League and Champions League, Kane again showed why he is placed among the elite strikers in today’s market. Kane is off the mark this season too, though has been an able provider as well, with five assists in Spurs’ three opening league matches.

Kane’s 94 finishing and 91 shot power headline his attacking threat, with 85 heading accuracy and 86 long shots meaning that he can convert virtually any chance when given the opportunity.

While the London-native’s pace leaves a lot to be desired (69 speed and 66 acceleration), Kane more than makes up for it with his 93 positioning and 91 composure once he is played in. Rather than taking on players with Kane, you may be better off utilising the wide areas and the playmakers on your team to provide him the service.

Also, as he has a four-star weak foot rating, you’ll only see a minor downgrade when going onto his left foot.

Heung-Min Son (87 OVR)

Nationality: Korean
Best Position: Left Midfield
Age: 28
Overall Rating: 87
Skill Moves: Four-Star
Best Attributes: 90 Long Shots, 89 Sprint Speed, 88 Shot Power

Heung-Min Son’s world-class versatility is a key component of Tottenham’s gameplan. The 18 goals and 12 assists in 41 appearances across all competitions last season highlighted Heung-Min Son’s class, with five goals in six Champions League games proving that he can perform against anyone.

Son has hit the ground running this season with five goals in the first five games of the 2020/21 campaign, even scoring four in Spurs’ 5-2 rout of Southampton.

Blessed with a 90 long shot rating, the consistency across the board of high 80s ratings means that he can break down a defence in any way, and you can use him in almost any situation.

With a rating of 85 or more across 13 different attributes, the qualities across several facets of his play make him an asset almost greater than the sum of his own parts.

Hugo Lloris (87 OVR)

Nationality: French
Best Position: Goalkeeper
Age: 33
Overall Rating: 87
Weak Foot: One-Star
Best Attributes: 90 Reflexes, 89 Goalkeeper Diving, 84 Goalkeeper Positioning

Signing in 2012, Hugo Lloris is part of the furniture at Spurs, and in the 2019/20 campaign, he showed his class again with six clean sheets, conceding just one goal per game on average during the league season.

This season, so far, has seen Lloris concede four goals in three Premier League matches, as Spurs face pressure from multiple angles to finish in the top-four or top-six.

As in real life, Lloris relies mostly on his cat-like reflexes to compensate for his lack of size (by goalkeeping standards), with a 90 goalkeeper reflexes rating meaning that the Frenchman may even keep out shots from close proximity.

Lloris’ 89 goalkeeper diving rating goes a long way to complete his protection of the Tottenham net, with strong ratings in handling (82) and positioning (84) making him a decent GK in FIFA 21.

Lloris is placed as the tenth-highest rated goalkeeper in this year’s game, and the third-best behind Alisson and Ederson across Premier League clubs.

Toby Alderweireld (85 OVR)

Nationality: Belgian
Best Position: Centre Back
Age: 31
Overall Rating: 85
Weak Foot: Three-Star
Best Attributes: 89 Standing Tackle, 88 Marking, 86 Composure

Through the glitz of the Spurs squad, Toby Alderweireld is not the first player that comes to mind, but his presence at the back has been a catalyst of their success over his five years in North London.

A mainstay in defence, Alderweireld was subbed off just once in his 33 Premier League starts last season, and he managed to chime in with two goals and two assists.

Alderweireld will compete with Eric Dier and Davinson Sánchez for a starting centre back spot in the new season, but in FIFA terms, he stands above the aforementioned pair.

Boasting strong ratings across all defensive attributes, including his 89 standing tackle and 88 marking, the Belgian is very effective in one-on-one situations, with 86 composure, 85 interceptions, and 85 reactions offering a nod to his mind for the game.

Gareth Bale (83 OVR)

Nationality: Welsh
Best Position: Right Wing
Age: 31
Overall Rating: 83
Skill Moves: Four-Star
Best Attributes: 90 Shot Power, 90 Curve, 89 Sprint Speed

A storyline set to dominate the 2020/21 season, Gareth Bale returns to Tottenham Hotspur: the club that launched him into super-stardom. A reunion with José Mourinho only fuels the story, and Bale is determined to feature more prominently this season, after just 14 starts in all competitions for Real Madrid last season.

Injury and a frosty relationship with manager Zinedine Zidane curtailed Bale’s season as he all-but banished himself to the golf course. Now, however, he looks to be just weeks away from featuring for Spurs again, in what is a renaissance of sorts.

The lack of game time last season has meant that Bale’s ratings have taken a hit, dropping from an 85 OVR to an 83 OVR, but his wicked left foot and pace are still a deadly combination, particularly when cutting in from the right-hand side.

The Welshman’s 90 shot power, 90 curve, and 87 long shots make him deadly from distance, with his 89 sprint speed and 86 acceleration being enough to create space and separation to let rip.

Should you opt to play Bale on the left, his 87 crossing means that he’s more than adequate on the other flank too, and with four-star skill moves meaning that he can jink his way out of tight spots.
