- 8 All the tallest central midfielders on FIFA 22 Career Mode
From open play and set-pieces, tall players are a gift to any manager. When assembling a midfield, technical attributes are key, but it’s important to not forget how being rangy, strong, and tall can positively impact proceedings in the midfield, just as much as any technician or playmaker.
So here, we’re going through all of the outright tallest central midfielders in FIFA 22, bringing a menacing presence to the middle of the park.
Choosing the tallest central midfielders in FIFA 22
This article focuses on the tallest central midfielders in the game, with Ayo Simon Okosun, Kalidou Sidibé, and Philip Billing being amongst the tallest in FIFA 22.
We have ranked these lofty midfielders by their height and the fact that their favoured position is in the centre of midfield.
At the bottom of the article, you’ll find a full list of all of the tallest centre midfielders (CMs) in FIFA 22.
1. Kalidou Sidibé, Height: 6’7″ (67 OVR – 72 POT)
Team: US Quevilly Rouen Métropole
Best Attributes: 78 Strength, 72 Aggression, 68 Stamina
Currently on-loan in France’s second tier, Kalidou Sidibé stands at 200cm, which makes him the tallest central midfielder in FIFA 22, 3cm taller than the second tallest on this list.
After a decent run in Toulouse’s first team in Ligue 1, Sidibé is now on-loan at his second Ligue 2 club, Quevilly Rouen Métropole, where he has cemented his place in the first-team and even found himself on the scoresheet, which has been a rarity throughout the 22-year-old’s still-young career.
Whilst his in-game attributes are fairly unremarkable, the fact that Ndiaye can also comfortably play in a holding midfield role and at centre half makes him in interesting player to trial in such a role – even if he may not be a worthwhile signing in Career Mode given his 72 potential.
2. Ayo Simon Okosun, Height: 6’6″ (63 OVR – 63 POT)
Team: Odense Boldklub
Best Attributes: 91 Strength, 81 Jumping, 80 Stamina
At 27-years-old, Ayo Simon Okosun is turning out as a first-team regular for his fifth Danish team in his decade-long career, and even plied his trade in the Italian third tier as a towering midfield prospect.
The second-tallest central midfielder in FIFA 22 has enjoyed his best form at AC Horsens where, in two stints, he scored 15 times in 60 appearances. His goalscoring form and 197cm frame made him an interesting makeshift striker option, although he has certainly played his best football in the centre of midfield.
With such a low overall and potential, it probably isn’t worth picking Okosun up in Career Mode from Odense Boldklub. However, if you are a lower division side and you have £538,000 to spend, you could activate the lofty Dane’s release clause.
3. Philip Billing, Height: 6’6″ (74 OVR – 79 POT)
Best Attributes: 84 Shot Power, 80 Strength, 77 Stamina
Philip Billing is currently experiencing the best form of his career for a revitalised Bournemouth. He continues to perform for a side look set on automatic promotion from the Championship after their relegation from the Premier League just two seasons ago.
The Copenhagen-born playmaker has spent the entirety of his career in English football, breaking through into the first-team at Huddersfield Town before transferring to the Vitality Stadium in 2019. One cap for the Danish national side reflects the great form that he showed last year, scoring eight goals and assisting another four in 34 outings from central midfield.
At 197cm, he’s not the most mobile. That said, Billing is absolutely worth snapping up in Career Mode as his 79 potential would suggest that he’s more than capable of playing in any of Europe’s top leagues. Of course, you’ll need to prise him away from the south coast – which you can if you can afford his £10.7 million release clause.
4. Ousmane Camara, Height: 6’6″ (60 OVR – 74 POT)
Team: Paris FC
Best Attributes: 83 Strength, 66 Stamina, 64 Aggression
Paris FC’s Ousmane Camara is very young, very raw, and very tall for a central midfielder, currently finding his way in French football in only his first senior season.
A product of Paris FC’s youth system, the midfielder, who can also operate as a rangy defender, has impressed the coaching staff in the French capital and has forced his way into the first-team setup already.
Whilst his current overall of 60 isn’t too high, his 74 potential makes Camara the ideal candidate for those managing in the lower leagues in Career Mode who want a versatile and physically imposing prospect within their ranks. He can be all yours for only £1.1 million in-game, which could be a steal if he reaches his potential.
5. Mohamed Diaby, Height: 6’6″ (71 OVR – 78 POT)
Team: Paços De Ferreira
Best Attributes: 86 Aggression, 84 Stamina, 77 Strength
Frenchman Mohamed Diaby is a player on the rise in the top tier of Portuguese football. As a ball-winning midfielder at 197cm, Diaby has all of the physical gifts to breakthrough and make an impact at the highest level.
Santa Clara developed Diaby as a youth prospect, but Paços De Ferreira took a chance on the midfielder, and he has since spent his entire senior career battling it out for a spot in a competitive squad that’s desperate to force its way into continental reckoning.
Diaby is particularly defensively astute and his in-game attributes of 77 standing tackle and 75 defensive awareness, coupled with his 77 strength, suggest that he could also realise his 78-rated potential at centre-half as well as in the heart of midfield.
6. Tyler Onyango, Height: 6’5″ (60 OVR – 81 POT)
Best Attributes: 69 Short Passing, 69 Long Passing, 69 Aggression
Everton’s youth academy has produced some extraordinary talents in recent years, and Tyler Onyango could be their next star if the 196cm tall midfielder can reach his 81 potential in FIFA 22 Career Mode.
Onyango’s talent has certainly not gone unnoticed at Goodison Park, with current manager Rafa Benitez giving the youngster his Premier League debut off of the bench against Manchester City in November. His appearances as an England youth international suggests that he’s a highly-rated playmaker and could become a full international at some point in his career.
A price of £1.9 million for a uniquely physical English prospect with the potential to feature consistently for a Premier League side in Career Mode could be fantastic business if you act quickly.
7. Steven Nzonzi, Height: 6’5″ (77 OVR – 77 POT)
Best Attributes: 89 Strength, 84 Stamina, 80 Aggression
Steven Nzonzi has amassed a considerable reputation in England, Italy, Spain, and his native France as a tenacious but equally skilful holding midfielder.
He has shown the consistent ability to use his 196cm frame to dominate the midfield battle regardless of who he plays against. Ever since his arrival at Blackburn way back in 2009, the French international has demonstrated his immense ability, and earned big moves to Stoke, Sevilla, and Roma.
In Career Mode, his 77 overall at 32-years-old means that there are probably better long-term signings available in-game if you’re in the market for a holding midfielder.
