The new Genshin Impact update, ‘Beneath the Light of Jadeite,’ will be arriving 28 April. At the same time, the game will also become available on PlayStation 5 in 4K resolution.
The update will bring new events, enemies, and two new playable characters. These characters are Eula from Mondstadt and Yanfei from Liyue Harbor.
Read on to find out the details for the latest Genshin Impact update, including the new housing feature.
Genshin Impact Update 1.5’s new characters
Eula is a five-star character who wields a claymore and has the Cryo element. She is the Spindrift Knight of Mondstadt, moves faster than other claymore users, and still hits hard.
Her Elemental skill is called Icetide Vortex, and her Elemental Burst deals area-of-effect damage. On top of that, it also creates a Lightfall Sword that follows her around.
Eula will be available from her own banner, the ‘Born of Ocean Swell.’
Yanfei is a four-star character who is a catalyst wielder. She uses the Pyro element to burn enemies. In Liyue Harbor, she is a well-known legal advisor.
Her Scarlet Seals provide a buff that increases the power and range of her charged attacks, while also decreasing her stamina consumption.
Yanfei will be available from Zhongli’s banner ‘Gentry of Hermitage.’
Update 1.5 introduces the new home feature
The Serenitea Pot gives you the chance to enter the realm of the Teapot and create your own home. You get to pick from three layouts for the overarching theme of your home. Inside the Teapot, you will be able to craft things like structures and furniture, all to make the place look as you want it to.
It also introduces a new material, wood. There will also be companions, new currency, and real currency available – you’ll need to accumulate enough to buy different kinds of items. It will be possible to create the structures and then decorate the rooms inside of them, forging a place just for you, with the possibility of inviting friends over.
New events arrive for Genshin Impact 1.5
There are several news events comings, and they all involve different kinds of challenges for Genshin Impact fans to face.
Energy Amplifier Initiation
The Energy Amplifier Initiation is an event in which you’ll be collecting Irminsul Fruit Fragments. During the event, you will have a relic called an Energy Amplifier, which will grant you effects in combat based on the fragments that you put into it.
The amount of Motive Force that you have, which is based on character levels – with higher being better – decides what amount and quality of fragments that you can put into the Energy Amplifier. It will be possible to use friends’ characters, just in case you don’t have a full party of level 80s yourself, or just need higher levels.
In the latter phase of the event, you’ll be able to enter the Twisted Realm, where there are four different domains. It will be possible to pick the difficulty of the domains and also specific conditions, such as decreasing healing for your characters to earn higher rewards: the higher the difficulty, the better the rewards will be.
There will also be an event shop available, in which one of the possible rewards is the character Diona, among other things.
Battlefront: Misty Dungeon
Battlefront: Misty Dungeon is another upcoming event where it will only be possible to use characters from a set character pool.
There will be six themed trials to complete. During the trials, characters will not form any elemental resonance, and food, potions, and inventory won’t be accessible. It will be possible to preview the monsters that will appear during the trial before you start it, as well as tips and tasks.
To pass a trial, you’ll have to activate all three ancient runes within the time limit, thus gaining access to the final challenge. There will be more than monsters during the trials, as well as automated weapons to increase the challenge.
Plenty of rewards like Primogems and Mora will be available upon completion of the Misty Dungeon trials.
The Mimi Tomo event is about an unusual Hilichurl that throws Primogems (the gems won’t be usable) that can be found in different locations.
Players will have to track Mimi Tomo down together, with the help of Ella Musk using the ‘Handy Handbook of Hilichurlian’ to communicate with Hilichurls. By communicating with the Hilichurls, you will gather clues to locate unusual Hilichurl.
Among the rewards for this Mimo Tomo event will be Primogems and Blueprints that can be used to decorate within the Serenitea Pot.
New story quests and monsters with Update 1.5
Two new story quests will be appearing, one with Zhongli and the other with the new character, Eula. Zhongli’s is the Historia Antiqua Chapter: Act II.
In this storyline, the new dragon boss Azhdaha will be making an appearance and looks to have a history with Zhongli. Azhdaha will be able to switch between different elements.
Eula’s story is called Aphros Delos Chapter: Act I, with more information about the new story quest set to be revealed closer to its launch.
A hangout event for Diona will be available, as will the second act of Noelle’s line. This will let us know even more about these two characters and have a little fun.
Azhdaha is not the only new monster, though, with two others also coming with Genshin Impact Update 1.5. The first one is the Cryo Hypostasis boss, which has a spinning wheel-like attack. At low health, it will enter a shield to recover HP while also attacking players.
The second is the Abyss Lector. Some of its attacks will decrease the target’s elemental energy when hits land. It deploys the Electro element for its attacks, making use of the title ‘Violet Lightning.’
There is a lot to look forward to with Update 1.5. Of everything revealed, the home feature looks to be the most exciting new addition. How will you decorate your home inside the Teapot?
