The visionary author has done it again. Todd Philips, who not only achieved fame with the first part of Joker, but has already received a lot of attention for his groundbreaking works such as Hangover and War Dogs, returns in 2024 with a sensational sequel: Joker: Folie à deux. Together with co-writer Scott Silver, Philips once again dives into the fascinatingly disturbed world of Arthur Fleck.
This time, however, Arthur is no longer traveling alone – at his side is the love of his life – Harley Quinn. In typical Philips fashion, the film interweaves genius with madness, masterfully managing to make the audience identify with the Joker despite the wildness and unpredictability of the plot, and even pity him at certain moments in the movie.

Rumors and speculation about the second part of Joker have been simmering for a long time. Todd Philips has repeatedly fueled the rumor mill, especially with telling posts on Instagram, including a photo of the script cover, which was interpreted as confirmation of his work on Joker 2.
After Screen Culture, the renowned Movies & TV trailer community on YouTube, unveiled the official trailer for Joker 2 on October 11, 2023, it is finally certain that we will be able to see a new masterpiece from the exciting neo-noir genre on theaters in 2024.
Starring Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga
In Joker: Folie à deux, US actor Joaquin Phoenix, who already played the lead role in the groundbreaking 2019 classic, shines. At his side, we see the versatile entertainer Lady Gaga, who has already impressed in several impressive cinematic performances.
A seamless connection
The first part from 2019 ended with Arthur Fleck in a psychiatric institution. In a final scene, he talks to a female therapist and laughs, hinting at a conversation he’s having in his head. He mentions that she wouldn’t get the joke.
The scene closes with Arthur being led out of the room with traces of blood on the floor, suggesting that he has become violent towards the therapist.
Arthur Fleck is Back in Business
In Joker 2, Arthur Fleck is no longer in a psychiatric ward. He returns to what he does best. He dons his Joker uniform and unleashes charismatic chaos together with his former psychiatrist, now known as Harley Quinn. Together they plunge Gotham City into unprecedented chaos.
The film captures the explosive interplay between two equally eccentric souls whose love ignites a veritable firework display of wildness. In the scenes, the audience feels the heightened intensity and unpredictability that comes when two “equally crazy” people combine their power and ferocity.
Get Ready for an Epic Soundtrack Experience
Joker 2 has already successfully completed the production phase. This second installment of the gripping story, which has evolved from a comic-based approach to a fascinating hybrid of thriller and psychological drama, promises another cinematic experience.
