Maneater: Jaw Evolutions List and Guide

How to find, equip, use, and upgrade all of the jaw evolutions in Maneater.

In Maneater, your jaws are your primary weapons against just about every adversary – as you would assume from a game where you play as a bull shark.

While your total arsenal goes beyond just your teeth, the jaw evolutions and teeth that you equip are used a lot.

Here, we’re going to break down what jaws are, how to upgrade them, and provide you with a detailed list of all of the jaw evolutions in Maneater.

What are Jaw Evolutions?

In Maneater, if you want to add some different abilities or power to your bite, you can select a different jaw evolution.

There are three jaw evolutions in Maneater – as well as the first set of basic shark jaws – which come as a part of the Bone Set, Bio-Electric Set, and Shadow Set.

Even when your jaw evolutions are at Tier 1, changing one for another can make a big difference to your gameplay.

For example, Tier 1 Bone Teeth make you more powerful against boats while Tier 1 Bio-Electric Teeth make you release an electrical shock when you bite.

How to Upgrade Jaw Evolutions

To upgrade jaw evolutions in Maneater, you’ll need to go to a Grotto.

You can find every Grotto that you’ve unlocked on the map – indicated by a small cave icon – and can fast-travel to it by holding the button indicated.

In the Grotto, press the left button on the d-pad (if you’re on the Xbox One or PlayStation 4), to bring up the Evolutions screen.

Here, navigate to the jaw evolutions and move over the evolution that you wish to upgrade.

On the jaw evolution, you’ll see a prompt to upgrade (by pressing triangle or Y), which costs x-amount of a particular nutrient. You can see how many of each nutrient you have at the top right of the screen.

Once you press to upgrade, another screen will show, indicating how much your jaw evolution will upgrade by, at which point you can confirm or decline to perform the upgrade.

How to Use Jaw Evolutions

Jaw evolutions come in the form of new teeth. Some jaw upgrades will offer passive benefits while others give your bite a little something extra – such as an electric shock.

On the jaw evolution screen, each one details whether you gain passive perks or bonuses ‘On Bite.’

To use your jaw evolutions, just go around biting things by pressing R2 or RT – depending on your platform.
