NBA 2K22: Best Power Forwards (PF) in MyNBA

Want to sign one of the most effective players in the game? These are the best power forwards to use in NBA 2K22.

In this new era of NBA basketball, the position-less style of play has been rampant in the construction of just about every team. Along with this, the traditional roles of power forwards in a squad have drastically changed, but it doesn’t mean that they are not effective in fulfilling their responsibilities.

With contrasting styles of play, the very best power forwards in 2K22 have excelled for their respective teams, and they portray unique skill sets that will prove to be effective on your team.

Giannis Antetokounmpo (OVR 96)

Overall Rating: 96
Position:
PF/C
Team:
Milwaukee Bucks
Archetype:
2-Way Slashing Playmaker
Best Stats:
98 Layup, 98 Shot IQ, 97 Draw Foul

Coming off one of the best NBA Finals series ever, Giannis Antetokounmpo is arguably the best player in the association right now. Using this player in NBA 2K22 with a five-out offense for the Milwaukee Bucks is a very enjoyable experience.

With Antetokounmpo able to play at center on some occasions, the Bucks are able to surround him with four exceptional shooters that will open up the paint for him. With the 18 finishing badges equipped to Antetokounmpo, including two at the Hall of Fame level, it’s nearly impossible to prevent him from touching the paint.

On the other side of the ball, ‘The Greek Freak’ is able to dominate on defense. Validated by his two Defensive Player of the Year Awards, Antetokounmpo has 20 defensive badges, a Hall of Fame-tier Intimidator badge, and 12 other Gold defensive badges.

Kevin Durant (OVR 96)

Overall Rating: 96
Position:
PF/SF
Team:
Brooklyn Nets
Archetype:
Offensive Threat
Best Stats:
98 Mid-Range Shot, 98 Shot IQ , 97 Close Shot

Following a second-round NBA Playoffs exit, Kevin Durant will come out with a vengeance in the 2021/22 season. With a 96 overall in NBA 2K22, Durant’s all-around skill set is one of the most unique characteristics that an NBA player could possess.

His top-notch outside shooting ability gives the opponents headaches, magnified by his 19 shooting badges, with four of them at the Hall of Fame level. His shooting attributes are superb, with the lowest rating being an 89 on his three-point shot.

Along with his scorching scoring spurts, he also boasts 15 playmaking badges, albeit only two reach the Gold level. Having two superstar teammates by his side, Durant has the sensational talent of racking up almost 30 points per game, but also gives his teammates an adequate number of attempts.

Anthony Davis (OVR 93)

Overall Rating: 93
Position:
PF/C
Team:
Los Angeles Lakers
Archetype:
2-Way Finisher
Best Stats:
98 Hustle, 97 Help Defense IQ, 95 Standing Dunk

Anthony Davis ended the previous season with a groin injury. Despite this, he’ll have a superb time in this campaign as he’ll have two of the best playmakers in the NBA on the floor. In 2K22, of his many great ratings, it’s the 95 standing dunk and 94 close shot that make the top-class power forward such a threat.

With 14 finishing badges, it will be a nightmare for any opposing matchup to guard him on the post. So, regardless of your preference, Davis would prove to be an effective post-up player, lob threat, or even just a face-up one-on-one player. However, Davis might not last a whole season due to his 78 durability.

Another excellent aspect of Davis’ repertoire is his defensive talent. With Gold-tier Pogo Stick and Intimidator badges, guards will fear driving through the paint when Davis is around. With a 6’10” frame, the Lakers can even play him at center.

Jayson Tatum (OVR 90)

Overall Rating: 90
Position:
PF/SF
Team:
Boston Celtics
Archetype:
Scoring Machine
Best Stats:
98 Offensive Consistency, 95 Hands, 90 Close Shot

One of the most exciting young stars of the NBA, Jayson Tatum is already on his way to becoming one of the league’s top scorers. Tatum has been running the show with two-way phenom Jaylen Brown for the Beantown Boys.

Even at 23-years-old, Tatum has already reached an overall rating of 90 in 2K22, highlighted by his impeccable outside scoring statistics. Tatum holds 19 shooting badges, with 12 of them excelling at the Gold tier.

Having deadeye accuracy and exploiting mismatches with his 6’8” frame and explosive quickness, Tatum is a tough matchup for any team. Some franchises may mitigate his shooting strengths, but Tatum is still able to provide an alternative by providing a slew of finishes at the rim and locking down players.

Zion Williamson (OVR 89)

Overall Rating: 89
Position: PF/C
Team:
New Orleans Pelicans
Archetype:
Slashing Four
Best Stats:
99 Vertical, 98 Layup, 97 Driving Dunk

Zion Williamson missed the playoffs for the second-straight season, but his individual abilities and statistics are not part of the problems of the New Orleans Pelicans.

In NBA 2K22, he boasts a 98 layup and 97 driving dunk, so Williamson cannot be stopped once allowed to accelerate towards the paint. With Hall of Fame-tier Fast Twitch and Limitless Takeoff, it’s very difficult to build a wall and prevent him from attacking the rim.

With 13 other Gold finishing badges, the next step in his development should be his defensive abilities and crafting a consistent outside shot.

Julius Randle (OVR 87)

Overall Rating: 87
Position:
PF/C
Team:
New York Knicks
Archetype:
3-Level Scorer
Best Stats:
98 Offensive Consistency, 95 Hands, 95 Hustle

With the unexpected playoff run by the New York Knicks, their success was headlined by MVP candidate Julius Randle. His style of play may seem unorthodox, but he leads his team to victories. Being a three-level scorer, Randle brings an all-around offensive game from inside and outside that always keeps the defenses guessing.

Randle’s wide frame and talent allow him to excel in the paint. With a Gold-tier Fearless Finisher badge and Fast Twitch badge, the Texas-native’s game benefits from the contact and shenanigans that occur in the shaded lane.

By being the franchise player of the team, Randle also has the task of playmaking for the Knicks. With a Gold Post Playmaker badge in 2K22, he’s able to open outside shots for the likes of Kemba Walker and Evan Fournier.

Domantas Sabonis (OVR 86)

Overall Rating: 86
Position:
PF/C
Team:
Indiana Pacers
Archetype:
Glass-Cleaning Facilitator
Best Stats:
98 Shot IQ, 95 Hustle, 95 Hands

Even with another impressive season for Domantas Sabonis, the Indiana Pacers failed to make it to the playoffs. As the son of the great Arvydas Sabonis, the success of his game is predicated on his playmaking ability, which is highlighted by his 82 passing accuracy and 80 passing IQ attributes in NBA 2K22.

Being a more traditional power forward, Sabonis still racks up most of his points via post-ups and put-backs. With five Gold finishing badges, he can certainly dominate the post in NBA 2K22.

His defense and athleticism is something to improve on, but Sabonis is one of the best rebounding big men in the league. His 90 defensive rebounding rating, along with a Gold Box and Rebound Chaser badge, he can dominate the glass against most teams that run with a small-ball lineup.
