The eSports Boxing Club roster just keeps on getting bigger and better. Not only is the team at Steel City Interactive signing the contenders of the sport today, but they’re also being granted the rights to sculpt legends into the boxing video game.
While still heavily in development, the ESBC team have been sure to keep fans in the loop across social media and particularly on YouTube, where they’ve now posted three Fighter Announcement Shows.
This latest one, which went live on 6 May, featured another great batch of new boxers, including Muhammad Ali, Katie Taylor, and Sugar Ray Leonard.
Muhammad Ali will be in eSports Boxing Club
For everything that he did in boxing and outside of the ring, few would dispute that Muhammad Ali lived up to his own billing of being ‘The Greatest.’ For any boxing video game to garner broad appeal, it needs this legendary figure: now, ESBC has confirmed that Muhammad Ali will be in the game.
Last year, Steel City Interactive announced that they had been working on a sculpt for Joe Frazier, getting Ali’s greatest competitor into eSports Boxing Club. At the time, they said that it takes about 45 weeks to complete a full-body sculpt of each legend.
As it’s unclear when the team received the rights to sculpt Ali, as well as when the game will be released, we don’t know if ‘The Greatest’ will be ready in time for the initial launch of ESBC. We do know, however, that there will be boxers added to the base game after launch via DLC.
Regardless, followers of the boxing video game will be eyeing up a recreation of the timeless bouts between Muhammad Ali and Joe Frazier, replaying the ‘Fight of the Century,’ ‘Super Fight II,’ and the ‘Thrilla in Manila.’
Another grand collection of boxers announced for ESBC
Muhammad Ali was certainly the highlight of the third Fighter Announcement Show, but he was far from being the only exciting addition to the roster.
Alongside Ali, Olympic gold medallist, former super lightweight champion, and reigning undisputed lightweight champion Katie Taylor will be in ESBC. Now 18-0, the Irish pugilist is the epitome of women’s boxing right now and is a tremendous addition to the roster.
The announcement video was very heavy on legends and retired fighters, with the Klitschko brothers, Sugar Ray Leonard, Larry Holmes, Riddick Bowe, Julio Cesar Chavez Sr, and Hector Camacho Sr confirmed for the upcoming boxing video game.

As you can see, while Muhammad Ali is, naturally, the most eye-catching name to be added to the roster, there certainly isn’t a lack of class in this batch of new boxers for eSports Boxing Club.
