The support for the Game Marvel’s Avengers will be discontinued on September 30, 2023. Here is why.
Support ends, but you can get all cosmetic items for free
The era of Marvel’s Avengers is coming to a close, as support for the game will officially end on September 30th. Players will no longer have the option to purchase the game digitally after this date. However, before its eventual departure, the game will receive its final Balance Update 2.8 on March 31st. Accompanying this update is the closure of the cosmetics shop, ensuring that all remaining cosmetic items will be made available to the players at no additional cost. As the curtain falls on this iconic title, let us cherish the memories and the superhero experience it provided.
The Co-Creative Director apologizes
Cezar Virtosu, the Co-Creative Director who collaborated with Studio Virtuos on the development of Marvel’s Avengers, recently offered an apology for the game in an interview. He acknowledged that the development process was indeed a challenging one. Speaking to Edge Magazine, Virtosu touched upon his role in the creation of Marvel’s Avengers describing the production as “difficult.” This candid confirmation from the Co-Creative Director sheds light on the fact that the game might not have reached its full potential, leaving fans and players to wonder what might have been.
A spark of hope? Players started a petition
The players community is very sad about the decision. TSo they started a petition on change.org to advocate for the reconsideration of Crystal Dynamics’ rendition of the Avengers. They believe that a committed fan base exists and eagerly anticipates the potential resurrection of this project. FansSo they want the developer to create a truly remarkable and fully realized sequel to the original title.
Marvel’s Avengers never reached its full potential. Now the support will be discontinued, but there is a spark of hope since the players started a petition for a new game.
