Weathering with You by Shinkai tells the story of a high school boy who runs away from rurality to the big city of Tokyo, where he befriends an orphaned girl who has the ability to control the weather. It is a romantic fantasy film that debuted in 2019, winning a number of awards including Best International Feature Film at the 92nd Academy Awards – known better as the Oscars.
