Rogue Heroes Ruins of Tasos: How to Get the Hammer Guide

Giant floor pegs blocking your path? Here’s how to get your hands on the Hammer in Rogue Heroes: Ruins of Tasos.

Likely while exploring the mud swamps – quite possibly before, if you’ve ventured up Mount Isolation – you’ll encounter some mid-height wooden pegs sticking out of the ground.

Interacting with the pegs will show a prompt that effectively says that you need the Hammer to get past, but where do you find this Hammer in Rogue Heroes: Ruins of Tasos?

On this page, you’ll find out exactly where to find the Hammer, as well as some tips to help your reach the crucial tool.

Where is the Hammer in Rogue Heroes?

Once you’ve reached Mire Town on the muddy, western island of the Rogue Heroes map, you’ll be on the right path to getting the Hammer.

If you haven’t reached Mire Town yet, you’ll either need to earn the Grappling Hook from Terakar Keep, found after defeating Koleoptera, or get the Mud Boots to cross the swamps.

From Mire Town, you need to head west, across the swamps, and to the next dungeon on your journey, Welestar Chamber. You’ll find the Hammer at the end of the dungeon in the rewards room.

At the dungeon’s door, you’ll need to give up your gems to venture inside – so be sure to spend them in Intori Village before you enter Welestar Chamber.

It’s good to keep in mind the best gem-earning practice when going into Welestar Chamber, making sure that you buy each floor shortcut as soon as you find one.

In the dungeon, you’ll need to reach the third floor, as was the case in Terakar Keep, get the boss room key, and then take on the Welestar boss.

Tips for defeating Welestar boss Rhizomorph

Entering the boss room of Welestar Chamber, you’ll find yourself face-to-face with a giant angry mushroom by the name of Rhizomorph.

Rhizomorph can be a tricky boss to handle, primarily because of the confusion spores that it sprouts around the arena and its incredibly high defence to your sword attacks.

Whenever the giant mushroom returns to the middle of the arena, you’ll want to dive in and unleash as many sword attacks and even plant bombs where possible. You’ll have plenty of opportunities to deal damage, so exercising some extra caution when up close is advised.

The key move of Rhizomorph that you’ll need to avoid is its cap smash. Eventually, the boss will start to hover, follow you around, and slam down.

The best way to avoid this attack is to quickly change direction and use your leap as soon as you see the mushroom top dart your way. When it becomes a red-cap, it can track you a little further before the smash, so you’ll need to leap away a split second later.

Where to find the Hammer in Rogue Heroes

After defeating Rhizomorph, you’ll be granted access to the reward rooms of the dungeon. It’s in this next room that you’ll find the Hammer in the chest of Welestar Chamber.

Using the Hammer to smash down the pegs in the room to complete the dungeon, you’re then free to use the tool to gain access to new parts of the map. To use the Hammer, you’ll need to press L or R to scroll through your tools, and then ZR to hit down with the Hammer.

So, to get the Hammer in Rogue Heroes: Ruins of Tasos, you just need to defeat the boss of Welestar Chamber.
