Infinity Ward has been producing the Call of Duty series for the past 19 years. However, in the fourth quarter of 2022, they released the hit sub-series, Modern Warfare 2. This Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 walkthrough contains important information that’d be of great help as you play the game.
Modern Warfare 2 was officially released on October 28, 2022. Since its release, it has been widely accepted by fans, and they haven’t failed in leaving their reviews, both the good, the bad, and the ugly. The game was released on every platform including a reintroduction to Steam.
Of all the versions that were released, the console version enjoyed most of the bonuses made available to Call of Duty gamers. The cross-gen edition, for example, is available on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 or Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. Despite being denied this privilege, PC users are still partaking in the fun.
Now you might get confused because there’s a previous Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 title with similar characters, but rest assured that they are two different games. While carrying the same title and some similar characters, this version is the sequel to the 2019 Call of Duty: Modern Warfare reboot.
This time, depending on your point of view, this new release has a better storyline that has succeeded in winning the hearts of its fans.

Modern Warfare 2 storyline
Three years after assembling Task Force 141 to combat the threat posed by Zakhaev junior, as seen at the end of Modern Warfare 2019, the task force is fully formed and operating worldwide. The storyline of Modern Warfare 2 begins after a US strike kills a foreign general, leading to a promise of revenge. Task Force 141 partners with Mexican Special Forces to stop the threat.
Task Force 141 isn’t as cohesive as you might think, with Ghost often working as a lone wolf who doesn’t see eye-to-eye with the rest of the team. When he discovers that the terrorist group Al-Qatala is working with the Mexican drug cartel “Las Alamas,” it is with great humility that Ghost realizes the limitations of his capabilities and seeks assistance from Colonel Alejandro Vargas of the esteemed Mexican Special Forces.
As they work together to prevent a global crisis, Task Force 141 teams up with the Mexican Special Forces and Shadow Company and travels to various locations around the world, including the Middle East, Europe, Mexico, and the United States.
The team will be tasked with piloting Gunships, battling in a convoy, identifying high-value targets, and stealthily operating underwater. The developers say that players will need to become “true Tier One Operators” to survive.
The campaign of Modern Warfare 2019 was intended to be thought-provoking and place players in challenging situations, whereas Modern Warfare 2 features the Task Force 141 performing courageous and impressive feats. However, it should be noted that these characters are human and not superhuman.

John “Soap” MacTavish
You play as Soap, a sniper and demolitions expert, in the original Modern Warfare trilogy. In the second installment of the reboot, Soap returns as a member of Task Force 141 and will likely be involved in stealth-based missions in the campaign

Sergeant Kyle “Gaz” Garrick joined Captain Price’s Bravo Team following the attack on Picadilly Circus by Al-Qatala in Modern Warfare 2019.
He stayed with Price throughout the mission to recover the stolen chemical weapons, and Price chose him as the first member of Task Force 141.
Simon “Ghost” Riley
Simon “Ghost” Riley is not well known, but it is known that he works alone and does not always agree with Task Force 141. In the game, Ghost will learn that he cannot always be a one-man army and will bring Vargas into the group.
Colonel Alejandro Vargas
Colonel Alejandro Vargas is a new character for Modern Warfare 2, introduced by Ghost. Not much is known about his character yet, but his knowledge is expected to be important in Task Force 141’s fight with Las Alamas.
Graves
Graves, a character newly introduced in Modern Warfare 2, is described as an ally to Task Force 141 and a private military contractor with the Shadow Company.
In the previous game, Modern Warfare 2, the Shadow Company betrayed Task Force 141. However, it is unclear if they can be trusted in the new timeline and continuity of the game.
Kate Laswell
Kate Laswell, Supervisor of the CIA’s Special Activities Division, gave Price clearance to form Task Force 141 in Modern Warfare 2019.
Three years later, in Modern Warfare 2, Laswell is a CIA Station Chief and will be working in the field with Task Force 141.
Shepherd
In the gameplay trailer for the campaign, we see Lieutenant General Shepherd from Modern Warfare 2 (2009) being voiced by Glenn Morshower.
Many fans will remember how in the original Modern Warfare 2, Shepherd betrayed Task Force 141 and ultimately met his demise at the end of the game. It appears that this version of the character may be different.
