Animal Crossing New Horizons: How to Cure a Wasp Sting and Make Medicine

Once you’ve
picked up all of the apples and tree branches from the floor, you’ll
undoubtedly start getting into the habit of shaking what appear to be empty
trees to see what you can get.

From tree branches
to bagworms, you’ll want to be pick-up or net most of what can be shaken out of
trees, except for wasps.

Now and then, you’ll find that shaking a tree lands you in a lot of pain, with wasps attacking your ACNH character. After the attack, you’re left with a rather unsightly swollen eye.

Unfortunately, time or sleeping won’t cure a wasp sting in New Horizons, and you’ll need to craft yourself an item to heal the wasp sting.

everything that you need to know about curing wasp stings in Animal Crossing.

How do you get a wasp sting in ACNH?

When you’re
going around shaking trees by pressing A when next to them, sometimes a hive
will dropdown.

You have a
second to quickly sprint in the opposite direction, otherwise the wasps attack.
If you’re holding your net, you can use it to try to catch a wasp, but you’ll
need to be quick.

If you don’t
catch the wasps that swarm near the hive or you don’t run away in time, they
will attack. After a flurry of attacks, the swarm of wasps leaves you with a
big sting on your face.

Now that you
have a wasp sting, you’ll be walking around Animal Crossing: New Horizons with
a swollen eye. There’s also another disadvantage of having a wasp sting in
Animal Crossing.

When you’ve
been stung, you can pretty much carry on as usual from where you are – likely
picking up the wasp nest and continuing to shake trees. However, if you get
another wasp sting in New Horizons, you’ll faint, blackout, and be returned to
your home.

How to heal a wasp sting in ACNH

While having
a wasp sting doesn’t hinder your activities on the island in Animal Crossing,
it isn’t nice to look at, and you obviously want to heal the wasp sting.

To heal a wasp sting in Animal Crossing get and use the Medicine item. There are two ways you can get Medicine: crafting or buying.

How to craft Medicine in ACNH

Crafting is,
of course, the preferable route as you need to pay Tom Nook a hefty sum to
progress in the game – so you want to save all of the money that you possibly
can. To get the recipe that allows you to learn how make the Medicine, follow
these steps:

When you have a wasp sting, speak to
one of your fellow island residents.
The resident will tell you how bad
the wasp sting looks and then give you the Medicine recipe.

Go into your inventory (X), and
select the Medicine recipe to learn how to make Medicine in New Horizons.
Next, go to either Tom Nook’s workbench
in Resident Services or your own and press R until you reach the ‘Other’
section.
To craft the Medicine, you’ll need to
acquire one wasp nest and three clump of weeds.

Once you’ve crafted some Medicine,
simply go into your inventory (X) and select to use the Medicine to heal the
wasp sting.

There’s a
chance that you’ll have the wasp nest – as it fell out of the tree when you got
stung – but if you don’t, simply shake more trees until another falls out.

You may,
however, be short on the clump of weeds if you’ve already cleaned your part of
the island and sold the weeds.

To get more
weeds, you’ll either have to wait for them to grow on your island or hop across
the river to get more. To do this, you’ll need the Vaulting Pole.

Early in the
game, you’ll be asked to put down a tent for Blathers, who’s interested in the
local fauna. The day after you’ve set-up Blathers’ tent, the owl museum curator
will move to your island.

Speak to
Blathers as soon as you can as they give you the crafting recipe for a Vaulting
Pole and the all-important Flimsy Shovel.

Once you
visit a crafting station, you’ll learn that you need five pieces of softwood to
craft the Vaulting Pole. To get these, you’ll need to chop trees with your Axe.
Doing so will produce one of three types of wood, with the lightest in colour
being the softwood.

After you’ve
crafted a Vaulting Pole, hop across the river to grab yourself another clump of
weeds so that you can craft Medicine and heal the wasp sting in New Horizons.

How to buy Medicine in ACNH

The quickest
and easiest way to heal wasp stings in Animal Crossing is to buy some medicine.
Whether he’s in the Resident Service tent or his own shop, Timmy will have some
Medicine in stock.

Medicine costs 400 Bells to buy in New Horizons, so you should be able to afford them by catching some fish or insects with your tools and then selling them to Timmy.

Once you’ve purchased
some Medicine, simply go into your inventory (X) and select to use the Medicine
to cure the wasp sting.

As you can see, even though the method of how to heal a wasp sting isn’t immediately shown in the game, curing a wasp sting in New Horizons is easy to achieve.
