Call of Duty Modern Warfare II: Best Secondary Weapons

Here are the best secondary weapons in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare II Best Secondary Weapons

Secondary weapon choice is very important in any shooter as it can help to fill in any voids left from your primary choice. The same holds true for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II. For instance, a sniper rifle isn’t practical in close- and medium-range combat, so having a pistol or submachine gun (SMG) will allow you to get yourself out of situations to find a new spot to snipe. LMGs take a ton of time to reload, so having a shotgun or pistol as a secondary weapon will give you the opportunity to buy yourself time and find a place to reload.

One of the biggest uses for the secondary weapon slot is anti-aircraft and vehicle attacks. Launchers can only be selected as secondary weapons and this becomes very useful as a team can bombard your squad with Killstreaks and leave you helpless.

Best secondary weapons in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II

Below, you will find the best secondary weapons in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II. There will be a mix of shotguns, handguns, and launchers to provide you with options depending on your playstyle and circumstances.

1. RPG-7

RPG-7

Damage: 9 out of 10
Fire Rate: 2 out of 10
Range: 9 out of 10
Accuracy: 5 out of 10
Recoil Control: 7 out of 10
Mobility: 5 out of 10
Handling: 4 out of 10

The RPG-7 is the classic rocket launcher, making appearances in many – if not all – Call of Duty titles and is possibly the most used rocket launcher in video games. It is a free-fire weapon, so it has zero lock-on capabilities, but excels in mobility with quicker manual aiming than any other launcher. Aim near enemies in long-range combat as its corkscrew trajectory isn’t accurate against small targets at long distances. Counter UAVs are pretty easy targets for the RPG-7 and it can take down normal UAVs with practice. It only holds two rounds, one loaded and one in reserve. Unlock the RPG-7 by reaching Rank 32

2. P890

P890

Damage: 6 out of 10
Fire Rate: 6 out of 10
Range: 4 out of 10
Accuracy: 6 out of 10
Recoil Control: 8 out of 10
Mobility: 8 out of 10
Handling: 7 out of 10

The P890 is a very reliable semi-automatic pistol. It scores only slightly above-average in Accuracy, but it has excellent Mobility and Recoil Control.  It only takes two shots at close-range or three at medium-range to get a kill and due to subsonic bullet velocity, it hides kill skulls from the enemy team. This can allow you to take multiple enemies out before being located. The P890 magazine holds eight rounds and carries 18 bullets in reserve. This can be a great backup to a sniper rifle when in close combat. This weapon is unlocked automatically at Rank 1

 3. Lockwood 300

Lockwood 300

Damage: 9 out of 10
Fire Rate: 5 out of 10
Range: 5 out of 10
Accuracy: 7 out of 10
Recoil Control: 6 out of 10
Mobility: 7 out of 10
Handling: 6 out of 10

The Lockwood 300 is an extremely powerful shotgun that will consistently get you one-shot kills even when shooting at long-range relative to most shotguns. It has a tight pellet spread and slightly above-average Recoil, which makes it very accurate with the drawback of having a more narrow spread than other shotguns. The Lockwood 300 only holds two slugs at a time and 16 rounds in reserve, but it has a quick reload time and since you only need one shot to eliminate a player, it doesn’t become a huge factor. Unlock the Lockwood 300 by reaching Rank 36

4. JOKR

JOKR

Damage: 8.5 out of 10
Fire Rate: 2 out of 10
Range: 9.5 out of 10
Accuracy: 9 out of 10
Recoil Control: 8.5 out of 10
Mobility: 3 out of 10
Handling: 3 out of 10

The JOKR is the best launcher for bigger open maps and large-scale game types like Ground War and Invasion. It only has a lock-on mode and is the most accurate weapon in the entire game, but you are unable to free-fire. The biggest drawback of the JOKR is Mobility and it takes around three seconds to lock onto an enemy. It’s not the best for every map, but it is a great secondary weapon for a support-type loadout. It holds one round and keeps one in reserve. Unlock the JOKR by reaching Rank 24.

5. Basilisk

Basilisk

Damage: 6 out of 10
Fire Rate: 5 out of 10
Range: 5 out of 10
Accuracy: 6 out of 10
Recoil Control: 9 out of 10
Mobility: 8.5 out of 10
Handling: 7 out of 10

The Basilisk is a double-action revolver with .500 cal rounds that can one-shot kill at close range. It packs a powerful punch, but has top-notch Recoil control that helps in medium- and long-range combat when you need two to three shots for a kill. It has excellent Mobility and paired with its Damage is almost like having a hand-held shotgun at your disposal. The Basilisk holds five rounds and allows you to carry 20 rounds in reserve. Unlock this weapon by reaching Rank 39.

6. Bryson 800

Bryson 800

Damage: 9 out of 10
Fire Rate: 4.5 out of 10
Range: 5 out of 10
Accuracy: 6.5 out of 10
Recoil Control: 7 out of 10
Mobility: 7 out of 10
Handling: 6.5 out of 10

The Bryson 800 is a great all-around utility shotgun. It has solid Range and consistently nabs one-shot kills. It does have a delay between shots due to it being a pump-action shotgun, but the shell capacity makes up for it as long as you aren’t in an open area. It has excellent Mobility and Handling, which gives you a lot of advantages when coming around corners or tracking a moving enemy. The Bryson 800 holds eight shells and allows you to carry 16 in reserve. The Bryson 800 is automatically unlocked at Rank 1

There you have the best secondary weapons in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II. These will complement your primary weapon and also serve as the glue to your loadout in total. Cover the weaknesses your primary weapon may have, such as a small magazine or low damage, with the choice of a secondary weapon.
