It’s time to deck the halls, slice some zombies, and throw snowballs in Dying Light 2: Stay Human. Yep, the folks at Techland are back at it again with their annual festive chaos, and this year’s holiday event is called Winter Tales: Gifts from above. Available now across PlayStation, Xbox, and PC, this limited-time event will spread holiday cheer (and probably a lot of zombie guts) from December 11th to January 2nd, 2024.
What’s Happening in Villedor?
Villedor, the not-so-lively zombie-infested city, has been hit with a cold front, and its residents are oddly in the festive spirit. But there’s a problem – the city’s Christmas tree is bare, and it’s up to you to gather the missing decorations. Think of it as a scavenger hunt with stakes… and the stakes are sharp.
Players will need to:
- Complete Baka’s Rewards
- Loot containers around the city
The prize? A fully decked-out tree, a bit of holiday cheer, and goodies like the Krampus Slayer Outfit and tasty Winter Treats, which can be traded at Baka’s shiny new holiday-themed shop.
Baka’s Festive Shop is Open for Business

Remember Baka’s spooky Halloween stall? Well, it’s been given a merry makeover. This time, Baka’s selling holiday weapons like:
- The Skoll Boomerang: A festive, undead-pummeling boomerang.
- Snowballs: Because why not throw frozen water at zombies for sport?
Baka also brought back fan-favorite items from the Krampus Slayer Set, including the ultimate zed-punisher, The Punisher weapon. So, if you’re feeling particularly Krampus-y, this is your time to shine.
Dear Santa, Send Reinforcements

Here’s where things get extra festive. For every Baka reputation level you climb, you’ll earn a letter to send to good old Santa Claus. No cookies required here – just drop your letter in the box next to Baka’s tent. In return, Santa will drop air deliveries loaded with presents.
Don’t snooze on these drops! The weekly challenges will rotate rewards, so you’ll need to stay active to collect the entire Krampus Slayer gear set.
Freebie Alert: Above the Law Pack
If you’ve been on the naughty or nice list this year, Techland doesn’t care – they’re giving out the Above the Law Pack for free to all players until January 2nd. So grab it while it’s hot (or cold, in this case).
Update 1.20 – Faster Action, Fewer Headless Glitches
Alongside the festive update, Techland dropped Update 1.20, which streamlines the game’s prologue. That means less tutorial fluff and more zombie-stomping action. It’s perfect for newcomers or for those jumping back into Villedor after a long break.
This update also:
- Fixes game crashes and co-op bugs
- Resolves some community-reported issues, including the bizarre “headless Aiden” stomping animation glitch (RIP, headless Aiden).
Big Holiday Discounts on Dying Light
Haven’t jumped into the Dying Light universe yet? Now’s your chance. Both Dying Light 1 and Dying Light 2: Stay Human are discounted by up to 80% for the holidays. Perfect for gifting or, you know, hoarding for yourself.
Grab Your Festive Gear and Jump Back In!
Dying Light 2: Stay Human is spreading holiday chaos through January 2nd on:
- PC (Steam and Epic Games Store)
- PlayStation 4/5
- Xbox One / Xbox Series X|S
So throw on your Krampus Slayer outfit, pummel some zombies with a snowball, and deck the undead halls like only Villedor can.
