One of the less challenging Mythic Tales of Ghost of Tsushima, ‘The Spirit of Yarikawa’s Vengeance’ rewards you with a potent, multi-foe-killing katana technique.
However, to claim the technique, you’ll need to search Old Yarikawa several times to follow the white smoke and track down the vengeful spirit.
In this guide, we’re going through all of the map locations for finding the white smoke in Old Yarikawa, as well as some tips for the traditional final duel at the end of the Mythic Tale.
Warning, this The Spirit of Yarikawa’s Vengeance guide contains spoilers, with each part of the Ghost of Tsushima Mythic Tale detailed below.
How to find The Spirit of Yarikawa’s Vengeance Mythic Tale

To gain access to The Spirit of Yarikawa’s Vengeance quest, you’ll need to make it through to Act II of the Ghost of Tsushima storyline, with the mission being centred on the ruins of Old Yarikawa.
Outside of the former settlement, you’ll see a cluster of peasants and a musician surrounding a murder on the road. Speak to the musician to hear the tale of the vengeful Yarikawa spirit.

Having spoken to the musician, you’ll set off on a search of the local area, seeking the telltale white smoke which is said to summon the spirit.
For completing The Spirit of Yarikawa’s Vengeance, you’ll receive a moderate legend increase, a new sword kit, and the katana technique known as the Dance of Wrath.

All of the white smoke locations in The Spirit of Yarikawa’s Vengeance
To find the first trail of white smoke, you’ll need to head to the south-west of the search area, by a survivors’ camp.

The second white smoke in Old Yarikawa is over by the by the bridge that crosses the Kushi River in the north-west of the search area.

To track down the third white smoke signal in Old Yarikawa, you’ll need to head further towards the centre of the search area, towards the wreckage of the old town.

The fourth white smoke trail in Old Yarikawa is back towards the location of the second white smoke signal, to the north of the search area.

You’ll then be tasked with going to the Garden of the Gods, which is a large patch of white flowers surrounded by statues close by the buildings of Old Yarikawa.

In the Garden of the Gods in Old Yarikawa, you’ll find a note towards the back of the garden which reads: “Yarikawa’s Vengeance has come for you…”
Tips for Duel the Spirit

The Spirit of Yarikawa isn’t a problematic adversary, provided that you use the Stone Stance and be aggressive with your heavy attacks.
The only significant unblockable move that you’ll need to be ready to dodge is when the Spirit sheaths their sword. When they do this, they’ll then strike three times, all of which are orange-spark attacks.
Other than that, they primarily use standard moves, which can be parried and followed-up with heavy attacks, as well as a swift blue-tint attack, which is the zigzag approach move that can be parried.
After grinding down the Spirit’s health, you’ll be offered the chance to use the Dance of Wrath, which you trigger by pressing L1+R1, to finish them off.
Rewards: Dance of Wrath and Omukade’s Revenge

The primary reward for completing The Spirit of Yarikawa’s Vengeance is the legendary combat art of the Dance of Wrath.
Using the manoeuvre costs three resolve, but after you’ve pressed L1+R1, you can unleash three consecutive unblockable attacks, all of which do a great deal of damage. Kills may also terrify other foes and make them flee.

The other reward is a sword kit, Omukade’s Revenge, which features an orange and blue colour scheme with a centipede on the wrap.
Now that you’ve completed The Spirit of Yarikawa’s Vengeance, you’ll be able to unleash the Dance of Wrath on your foes as well as apply a new cosmetic item to your sword.
