Jin Kazama has been the main protagonist in the Tekken series for over a decade, with a mission to end the Mishima bloodline. He is a very neutral fighter and doesn’t have any glaring weaknesses. His style is somewhat of a modernized version of his father’s fighting style, infusing the techniques and influence of his mother, Jun Kazama.

Jin’s move list is full of crafty ways to create space as well as combinations that are both quick and powerful. Jin is a master at poking opponents to lure them in and pushing them away to control the pace of the fight. He is a great fighter for a beginner to the series – especially in the distinctly newcomer-friendly Tekken 8.

Unlocking Jin Kazama's Potential: A Tekken 8 Guide to Mastering His Best Moves

As the Tekken 8 controls adjust slightly depending on what way you’re facing, we’ll be using the following short-hand to reflect the moves: Right-Hand Punch (RP) and Left-Leg Kick (LK).

    Median Line Destruction: LP+ RP

Median Line Destruction is a three-hit combination that knocks your opponent across the screen. Performing this move activates Heat Mode, exposing your enemy to chained Heat Move combinations. Jin delivers three punches to the midsection of the opponent, with the last one launching the opponent while Jin simultaneously rushes them to inflict more damage.

Kazama Style Three-Quarter Kick: D-Pad Down, LK, RK, LK

The Kazama Style Three-Quarter Kick is a great combination that is quick and easy to perform. It has higher chance than usual of landing due to its mix of low and high attacks. Jin initiates the combo with a low left kick followed by a high right leg roundhouse kick, finishing with a spinning roundhouse kick to create space between you and your opponent.

Evil Intent: D-Pad Left, D-Pad Right, RP, LP, LP, RP

Evil Intent can get you out of a bind quickly and is simple to perform. This move creates space and will disrupt a sweaty opponent that uses a bullrush strategy. Jin initiates the combo with a right hook, immediately followed by a left hook to the head, and an extremely powerful right punch to the gut that sends your opponent flying across the arena. This gives you time to slow the pace of the fight or to rush the enemy as they recover. Either way, the Evil Intent move puts you at a huge advantage when it hits.

Savage Sword: D-Pad Down-Left, RP, RP, LK

Savage Sword has somewhat of an elusive element to it as Jin slightly sidesteps when performing this move. Jin starts the combination with a right hook, following that up with a right-hand chop. Finally, he swings in a roundhouse kick to the opponent’s midsection that creates a good amount of space.

Jin Kazama is a perpetual fan favorite, and in Tekken 8, he takes on a starring role in the main story once again. Master Jin Kazama’s moves with the tips above, and you’ll get to experience the end of the Mishima saga!
