Infinity Ward is committed to continually enhancing the Call of Duty gaming experience for its players. The improvement of the Perks system in Modern Warfare 2 is a significant step forward in the evolution of the franchise and demonstrates a commitment to improving the user experience.
The Perks system, also known as specialties, is designed to offer various benefits and abilities during gameplay, thereby allowing for further modification of classes. These specialties can impact the available equipment, the strength of the player’s equipment, the effectiveness of the enemy’s equipment, and the visual properties of the player’s character.
In response to the increasing demand for the Perks system in other Call of Duty sub-series, Infinity Ward has devoted effort towards developing improved versions that will enhance player interaction with the game in Modern Warfare 2.
So, what does the new Perk system look like? What Perks will be available for use in Modern Warfare 2?
New Perks system in Modern Warfare 2
In Modern Warfare 2, players will have access to the “Assault,” “Phantom,” “Hunter,” and “Deadeye” perk packages by default. However, it is possible to customize the Perk system to align with one’s preferred playing style.
To customize the Perk system in Modern Warfare 2, players must select the plus (+) sign located on the bottom left of the loadout screen. A custom Perk package consists of three tiers: “Base Perks,” “Bonus Perk,” and “Ultimate Perks.” These tiers are unlocked at different times during a match, with the “Base Perks” being available from the start, the “Bonus Perk” becoming available approximately four minutes into the match, and the “Ultimate Perk” being unlocked at approximately eight minutes into the match.
Additionally, the rate at which Perks are unlocked can be accelerated by earning kills, assists, or completing objectives during a match.
