Ready or Not: Dark Waters Makes a Splash with Tactical Maritime Combat

VOID Interactive has launched Ready or Not: Dark Waters, the second DLC for its critically acclaimed tactical FPS, Ready or Not. Now available on Steam for $9.99 (€9.99), this update expands the boundaries of urban SWAT operations to the unpredictable and confined chaos of offshore environments.

The game has Very Positive reviews on Steam as of this writing.

Players can dive into three brand-new missions, showcasing the Los Sueños Police Department’s (LSPD) new maritime capabilities. These missions pit players against environmental hazards, claustrophobic spaces, and audacious criminals who think they can evade the law by taking to the sea. The constrained environments like boats and oil rigs force players to rethink strategies while navigating turbulent weather and limited visibility.

    What’s New in Dark Waters?

    The DLC introduces:

    • Two cosmetic sets: Gear up with exclusive maritime-themed V.B.S.S. and ATLAS equipment sets, adding flair to your tactical swagger.
    • Three new missions:

Mirage at Sea: Infiltrate a luxury yacht party hiding the grim stains of international crime.

Leviathan: Take on eco-terrorists on an offshore oil rig.

3 Letter Triad: Uncover a shady deal at an abandoned island resort.

    • Five new weapons: Available to all players, DLC or not. These additions include the MK17, GA51, M14S-16, MP5SD6, and G3 rifles, catering to the escalating threats in Los Sueños.
    • Support helicopter: A UH-60 helicopter now provides reconnaissance and rapid response during Dark Waters missions.

    What Players Are Saying

Initial reviews of Dark Waters are Very Positive, with some calling it a refreshing departure from the standard urban missions. The new maps are praised for their thoughtful design and the immersive tension they bring.

Not all feedback has been glowing. A common critique of the DLC—apart from the occasional gripe about broken AI—is whether the helicopter should have its reporting protocols double-checked. (Cuffed suspects are still getting flagged, after all.) Some players lament the game’s persistent AI issues, suggesting that VOID Interactive should address core mechanics before expanding the game’s scope.

    Ready to Take the Plunge?

For hardcore fans, the Ready or Not: LSPD Edition bundles the base game, both DLCs (Home Invasion and Dark Waters), and the official soundtrack for $60.81 (€60.81), offering a complete tactical experience at a discounted price. Owning the base game is a prerequisite for playing Dark Waters.
