While not everyone playing Cyberpunk 2077 will focus heavily on Crafting, every player can benefit from it. Crafting can be an easy way to get some early Perk Points by boosting the Skill Level, and a few Perks can help that along.
If you find a favorite Iconic Weapon, you’re going to need some Crafting ability in order to upgrade it and keep the weapon usable later in the game.
We’ve got the details on all of these things and more in this Complete Crafting Guide for Cyberpunk 2077. If you’re struggling to locate certain Crafting Spec blueprints, we’ve also got the details on where to look to snag that one that’s eluding you.
Cyberpunk crafting guide – how does crafting work?
Crafting in Cyberpunk 2077 all comes down to having a Crafting Spec, essentially a blueprint of the item, and the necessary Item Components. These Item Components are broken down into the following tiers:
- Common (White)
- Uncommon (Green)
- Rare (Blue)
- Epic (Purple)
- Legendary (Yellow)
Every item you craft in Cyberpunk 2077 is going to require some balance of these Item Components. They can be found and looted from enemies or containers throughout the game or purchased through vendors.
If you’re looking to purchase Item Components, your best bet is either Junk Vendors or Weapons Vendors. You can also procure Item Components by disassembling weapons or items you have in your inventory, which will provide Item Components based on the tier of the item being disassembled. Look below for a detailed Cyberpunk crafting guide.
How to get Crafting Spec blueprints in Cyberpunk 2077
While you may spend a lot of time grinding to garner Item Components, they’re essentially useless if you don’t have the necessary Crafting Spec to create an item. The Crafting Spec for some items are automatically available, but most will have to be found throughout the game.
You can sometimes find a Crafting Spec when looting enemies throughout the game, but many can be purchased from individual vendors. Certain Perks, which will be covered in more detail below, will also unlock a new Crafting Spec.
As you continue to improve your Crafting Skill Level, that progression will also reward you with a Crafting Spec at times. Chances are you’re going to acquire a Crafting Spec several times just through playing the game, but you can seek one out using this list as a guide.

Upgrading your equipment with Crafting in Cyberpunk 2077
While you do have the option to use Crafting to create better versions of Weapons and Clothing, or new items, you can also utilize this skill to upgrade the quality and stats of the equipment you’re already using. Just like Crafting items from scratch, Upgrading requires Item Components.
However, the biggest difference is that Upgrading also requires Upgrade Components, which can be more difficult to acquire. Upgrade Components, like regular Item Components, can be found as random loot in containers and on enemies throughout Cyberpunk 2077.
You can also purchase Upgrade Components through Weapon Shops and Junk Shops, the latter of which tends to be more reliable and have better stocks. If you’re struggling to get just a few Upgrade Components, there’s also one other way to acquire them that consumes some Item Components.
When you disassemble an item, you receive both Item Components and Upgrade Components of the quality of the item or lesser quality tiers. If you have an item of the tier you’re in need of, or can craft an item of that tier, disassembling it can give you the Upgrade Components you need, but beware this is an inexact science.
How to improve Crafting Skill Level and progression rewards
Like all Skills in Cyberpunk 2077, Crafting is directly influenced by how much you use it. If you want to improve your Crafting Skill Level, all you need to do is start Crafting.
There are only three tasks that will directly improve your Crafting Skill Level and give you experience to rank up. You improve through Crafting new items, Upgrading existing items, and disassembling items.
Just through the natural progression of the game as you use the Crafting Skill, it will continue to increase. However, if you want to boost it very quickly, there is a specific bulk crafting method that’ll also net you easy money which can be found here.

All Crafting Perks and which ones are most important
If you’re going to dive heavily into Crafting, then you’re going to need to invest in some Crafting Perks. Exactly which ones you decide to take will ultimately depend on the kinds of Crafting you’re doing, and how much you desire to spend those Perk Points elsewhere.
You’ll see all Crafting Perks listed below, but every player should snag Mechanic to get extra components and Scrapper which automatically disassembles junk items when they’re picked up. This will help you stockpile components, and save you a lot of time manually disassembling junk.
You’ll also likely want to invest in Workshop, Ex Nihilo, and Efficient Upgrades. These percentages might seem small at a glance, but you’d be surprised how quickly they add up and can save or make you money.
All Crafting Perks in Cyberpunk 2077
The following table shows all Crafting Perks that can be acquired in Cyberpunk 2077. The available tiers represents how many times you can invest a Perk Point into that Perk, and additional Perk Points in the same Perk will improve percentages of what it gives you.
Those additional totals are represented by seeing “5%/10%/15%” in a description, where the amount of Tiers invested in that Perk will determine which of those numbers the Perk currently provides. Attribute Requirement represents the necessary Attribute score to unlock that particular Perk.
Perk Name | Tiers | Description | Attribute Requirement |

Crafting and upgrading iconic weapons and clothing in Cyberpunk 2077
Crafting and upgrading Iconic Weapons and Iconic Clothing in Cyberpunk 2077 is similar to other items, but with one significant difference. You can’t get multiple copies of an Iconic Weapon or piece of Iconic Clothing.
You also can’t acquire the Crafting Spec without having the Weapon or Clothing itself. The reason for this is that you actually consume the lower tier version of the Iconic Weapon or Iconic Clothing to craft the better quality version.
So if you wanted to craft a Legendary Gold-Plated Baseball Bat, you would first have to acquire that Iconic Weapon which starts as Rare quality. You would then have to craft it into an Epic version, and only then could you consume the Epic version to craft the Legendary version of the Gold-Plated Baseball Bat.
Iconic Weapon Crafting Spec Locations
The following table shows Crafting Spec Locations for Iconic Weapons. It’s important to note that Iconic Weapons that are received already at Legendary tier are not on this list, as they can’t be crafted to a higher tier and therefore don’t have a Crafting Spec. The Initial Tier indicates the tier which the weapon is found at, and it can then be upgraded all the way to Legendary from that tier.

Crafting Quickhacks and how to unlock every Quickhack Crafting Spec
Unlike other Crafting Specs, you actually acquire Quickhack Crafting Specs through Perks in the Quickhacking Skill. This means you’ll need Intelligence, rather than Technical Ability, to unlock these Perks.
Crafting of Quickhacks is similar to Crafting of Iconic Weapons and Iconic Clothing, in that you sometimes need the lower tier version of an item to craft the higher tier version.
Quickhack Crafting Perks
The following Perks are found through the Quickhack Skill under Intelligence and are each single tier, requiring one Perk Point to unlock.

Crafting Cyberware Mods and how to install them
While you cannot craft regular Cyberware in Cyberpunk 2077, you’ll have to rely on Ripperdocs for those items, you can craft Cyberware Mods which can be attached to improve the abilities of your existing Cyberware.
You won’t need any existing versionf of items like with Iconic Weapons or Quickhacks. Cyberware Mods are crafted just using regular Item Components.
In order to craft Cyberware Mods, you’ll need the corresponding Crafting Spec for each Cyberware Mod, a table detailing which can be found above in the section noting Crafting Spec locations. They do tend to be the more expensive items, even for Crafting Specs.
Fortunately, you don’t need to be at a Ripperdoc to attach a Cyberware Mod. Unlike regular Cyberware, you just need to open your menu and view the Cyberware section of your inventory. This will allow you to install and uninstall Cyberware Mods if you have the Cyberware needed to utilize the Cyberware Mod.
