Jagex, the creators of the iconic free-to-play MMORPG RuneScape, have launched the 110 Woodcutting & Fletching Update, raising the level cap for Woodcutting, Fletching, and Firemaking to 110. The update introduces new resources, mechanics, and equipment, offering players a more dynamic path to skill mastery while setting the stage for future skill expansions up to level 120.
One of the most notable additions is the introduction of Eternal Magic trees, found in a lush grove north of Eagle’s Peak. These non-competitive, level 100 trees provide a fresh skilling experience with mechanics like Tree Timers, which regulate resource availability, and Lumberjack’s Intuition, a dynamic buff that boosts XP, loot chances, and the likelihood of achieving Perfect Cuts—critical strikes that guarantee logs and bonus experience. Players can also collect Enchanted Bird’s Nests, offering unique rewards, and use new consumables like the Sharpening Stone and Bird Whistle to further enhance their Woodcutting efficiency.
The update also introduces new hatchets, including previously unavailable smithable options for levels 60–90 and a powerful level 100 Primal Hatchet. Players can now create augmentable hatchets, such as the Hatchet of Ember and Glade and the Hatchet of Bloom and Blight, providing the best-in-slot tools for Woodcutting.

For Fletching enthusiasts, the update brings Eternal Magic Shortbows, Primal Crossbows, and Primal Arrows and Bolts, crafted at new Fletching Workbenches located in key areas like Burthorpe and Varrock. These weapons can be upgraded through multiple tiers, culminating in the augmentable Masterwork Bow, a pinnacle achievement that requires mastery of multiple skills, including Woodcutting, Fletching, Smithing, and Necromancy. The Martial Versions of these weapons can also be handed in for significant experience rewards.
The Firemaking skill has not been overlooked, with the introduction of Eternal Magic logs for burning and upgraded bonfires that provide enhanced bonuses. Additionally, the War’s Retreat campfire can now be upgraded for those who reach 100 Firemaking and gather the required resources.
This update also resolves longstanding gaps in free-to-play Woodcutting, adding access to Teak, Maple, and Acadia Trees, alongside their respective wood boxes. Changes to existing systems include standardized crafting steps for ammunition, improved mechanics for consumables, and rebalanced buffs to ensure a more streamlined skilling experience.
