Dog Man: Mission Impawsible Leaps Onto Consoles and PC Today

Dog Man: Mission Impawsible, the first-ever video game based on Dav Pilkey’s wildly popular Dog Man series, itself a spin-off series of the popular series of children’s novels Captain Underpants, officially launches today, December 6, 2024, on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.

Developed by Floor 84 Studio and published by Mindscape, the game offers 50 levels of platforming chaos and puzzle-solving. Whether you’re a diehard fan of the books or just tagging along for the ride, this family-friendly 2D side-scroller promises something for everyone.

    Gameplay That’s Anything But Ruff

Dog Man: Mission Impawsible puts players in the paws of Dog Man and his trusty Supa Buddies—Lil’ Petey, 80-HD, and more—as they track down the dastardly thief who swiped the key to the city. Each character brings unique skills to the table: Dog Man digs and glides, Lil’ Petey hacks gadgets, and 80-HD does the heavy lifting.

The game spices things up with a variety of unlockable gadgets, from grappling hooks to rocket boots. Can’t reach that secret area yet? Come back later with your new toys and show that puzzle who’s boss.

The game looks packed with boss fights, collectibles, and levels set in locations well known to Dog Man fans like City Hall and the Giant Marshmallow Factory.

    For the Fans

Visually, the game sticks close to its roots, with the art style and animations coming straight from the books. Expect comic-style sound effects, laugh-out-loud dialogue, and just the right amount of wholesome chaos to keep kids entertained without frying their parents’ patience.

Speaking of patience, a demo has been available since October’s Steam Next Fest for those who like to kick the tires before committing. It features two levels of gameplay on Steam, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch. If you missed it, don’t worry—the demo is still available, and yes, it’s free.

Inside the game, players can switch between a smorgasbord of languages, including German, Polish, and Brazilian Portuguese, ensuring that Dog Man’s antics are accessible to fans worldwide.

    An Expanding Franchise

This game isn’t just a standalone event—it’s part of a bigger Dog Man takeover. With millions of books sold and a Dreamworks movie set to debut on January 31, 2025, Dog Man: Mission Impawsible is a timely addition to the franchise’s growing empire.
