    1. Diogo Costa (82 OVR, 88 POT)

    1. Diogo Costa (82 OVR, 88 POT)Team: Porto

    Age: 23

    Wage: £13,000 p/w

    Value: £39 million

Best Attributes: 86 GK Reflexes, 80 GK Positioning, 80 GK diving

Diogo Meireles da Costa is easily the best young goalkeeper to sign in EA Sports FC24 career mode, he also ranks as one of the best young GK with a massive 88 potential rating.

Standing 6’2’’ with 80 diving, 81 reactions, 77 handling, and 86 reflexes, the 23 year old is definitely a no.1 goalie to sign in career mode.

Costa made his senior debut with the Porto reserve team on 6 August 2017, in a 1–2 home loss against Gil Vicente for the LigaPro. On 25 September 2019, Costa made his first-team debut in the opening group match of the Taça da Liga, keeping a clean sheet in a 1–0 home victory over Santa Clara.

He broke into the starting line-up in 2021 at 22 years old, helping Porto to a second domestic double and being named in the Primeira Liga Team of the Year.

    2. Giorgi Mamardashvili (80 OVR, 86 POT)

    2. Giorgi Mamardashvili (80 OVR, 86 POT)Team: Valencia

    Age: 23

    Wage: £26,000 p/w

    Value: £27 million

Best Attributes: 82 GK Reflexes, 80 GK Positioning, 80 GK diving

Giorgi Mamardashvili is one of the hidden gem talents still buried in South America, he is only valued at £37 million despite his rather decent 80 overall rating at just 23-years-old.

The Georgian shot-stopper starts career mode with 80 diving, 82 reflexes, and 80 positioning – and his 79 handling’s not too bad either. Still, his main appeal is his 86 potential rating if properly nurtured.

Born in Georgia, Mamardashvili joined Spanish club Valencia on a one-year loan deal. He made the pre-season with the main squad, impressing his manager and earning himself the starting spot in the league opener against Getafe on 13 August 2021.

With a rating that makes him immediately useful to LaLiga sides, a loan move or two could see the young keeper reach his potential, making him a capable shot stopper at the highest level.

    3. Marco Carnesecchi (79 OVR, 87 POT)

    3. Marco Carnesecchi (79 OVR, 87 POT)Team: Atlanta

    Age: 23

    Wage: £32,000 p/w

    Value: £33 million

Best Attributes: 82 GK Reflexes, 80 GK Positioning, 80 GK diving

Standing 6’3’’ with an 87 potential rating and a £33 million value, Marco Carnesecchi ranks among the best young goalkeepers to sign in EA Sports FC24 career mode with high potential.

The Italian born is among the starting lineup for Italian side Atlanta, with his key goalkeeping attributes remaining in line with his 79 overall rating, but the potential is there for Carnesecchi to become a ball stopper at the backline.

Carnesecchi started playing for the Under-19 squad of Atalanta in the 2017–18 season and was first called up to the senior squad in 2019 for the Coppa Italia game against Cagliari.

Carnesecchi has been described as a tall, agile goalkeeper, with quick reflexes, good decision-making and excellent shot-stopping abilities; he is also good in one-on-one situations, and effective at communicating with his back-line.

    4. Lucas Chevalier (78 OVR, 84 POT)

    4. Lucas Chevalier (78 OVR, 84 POT)Team: Lille

    Age: 21

    Wage: £17,000 p/w

    Value: £18 million

Best Attributes: 78 GK Reflexes, 77 GK Positioning, 79 GK diving

Due to Lucas Chevalier overall rating being just 78, you can sign him as a mid cost high potential goalkeeper, with his value sitting at just £18 million and a potential to reach 84 rating if properly nurtured.

The Frenchman’s 79 diving and 78 reflexes are already several points up on his overall, so the 6’2’’ goalkeeper looks to have the foundations of a shot-stopper. His 79 reaction will help when he is called to pounce on an aerial ball.

He is mainly known for his speed, quick reflexes, and agility, as well as his reading of the game, and in particular, his excellent handling and ability to come off his line and collect crosses.

Chevalier made his professional debut for his boyhood club with a strong performance against Marseille. He was praised for his performance that earned him a rating of 8/10 in La Voix du Nord and a spot in L’Équipe’s Team of the Week.

    5. Bart Verbruggen (75 OVR, 85 POT)

    5. Bart Verbruggen (75 OVR, 85 POT)Team: Brighton

    Wage: £30,000 p/w

    Value: £10 million

Best Attributes: 80 GK Reflexes, 73 GK Kicking, 77 GK diving

Although other goalies on this list of young goalkeepers may be cheap, Verbruggen justifies his higher price tag by being a readymade first choice keeper for a top flight team.

With a value of £10 million and a weekly wage of £30K, this flying Dutchman won’t come cheap, but his imposing stature and impressive strength make him a commanding presence between the posts.

The 21 year old young GK starts career mode with 77 diving, 80 reflexes, and 68 positioning – and his 71 handling’s not too bad either. Still, his main appeal is his 85 potential rating if properly nurtured.

Verbruggen signed a 5 year deal with English side Brighton and made his debut in a home defeat against West Ham in July 2023. He also received his first official call-up to the Netherland senior team for the UEFA Euro 2024 qualifiers against France and Gibraltar.

    Wage: £24,000 p/w

    Value: £9 million

Best Attributes: 79 GK Reflexes, 71 GK Kicking, 76 GK diving

The 75 overall goalie Illan Meslier manages to land securely as a cheap high potential player to buy in Career Mode thanks to his £9 million value and a weekly wage of £24k.
