Elden Ring Nightreign: a Standalone 3-Player Co-op Game Launching 2025

Fans of Elden Ring have a thrilling new chapter to look forward to in 2025. FromSoftware, Inc., the developer behind the original Elden Ring, has announced Elden Ring Nightreign, a standalone multiplayer co-op action survival game published by Bandai Namco Entertainment Inc.

This bold new take on the Elden Ring universe challenges players to team up in squads of three or venture alone into an unforgiving world where survival hinges on strategy, skill, and cooperation. Set in a parallel universe to the original game, Nightreign offers a fresh perspective with a multiplayer focus, introducing innovative mechanics, new characters, and a dynamic, ever-changing map.

A New Chapter in the ELDEN RING Universe

Elden Ring Nightreign takes place in Limveld, a realm shaped by the menacing Nightlord. Players assume the roles of “Nightfarers,” choosing from eight distinct heroes, each with unique abilities and powerful Ultimate skills. Whether playing solo or in a three-player co-op team, participants must navigate a three-day and three-night cycle, battling increasingly challenging enemies and bosses as the environment evolves around them.

The Night’s Tide, a creeping environmental hazard, shrinks the map as time progresses, forcing players to make quick decisions about combat, exploration, and resource allocation. Each session culminates in an epic showdown with a powerful boss at the end of each night, with the ultimate goal of confronting the Nightlord on the final day.

    Key Features

Rise Together: Players can join forces in 3-player co-op to face relentless challenges. Teamwork is vital as heroes’ unique abilities synergize for devastating effects in combat.

Dynamic World: The map and its threats shift with each session, ensuring no two journeys are the same. Sites of Grace offer opportunities for leveling up, while uncovering powerful weapons and Runes enhances the chances of survival.

Evolving Challenges: Each night brings a tougher boss encounter, pushing players to adapt and grow stronger. Unsuccessful attempts grant relics that allow for character customization and upgrades, enabling players to tailor their heroes to their preferred playstyle.

Parallel Adventure: Set in a universe parallel to the original game, Nightreign expands on the lore and offers a unique narrative, revealing the stories behind each of the Nightfarers.

    An Ever-Shifting Experience

FromSoftware introduces an innovative approach with Elden Ring Nightreign. Combining the studio’s hallmark RPG mechanics with session-based gameplay, the title offers an open-air dungeon-crawling experience where exploration, strategy, and adaptability are key. Each successful session brings players closer to unraveling the mysteries of Limveld and defeating the Nightlord.

Players will have access to a variety of weapons, powerful Runes, and other resources by venturing into the most dangerous parts of the map. This risk-reward system encourages exploration but demands careful planning and teamwork.

    Coming Soon in 2025

Launching in 2025 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC via Steam, Elden Ring Nightreign promises a thrilling multiplayer evolution of the beloved franchise.
