After failing to qualify for two consecutive World Cups in 2010 and 2014, Poland bounced back in 2018, but couldn’t get out of the group stages.
Current Polish stars Robert Lewandowski, Jakub Błaszczykowski, Kamil Grosicki, and Kamil Glik all feature on Poland’s top-ten most capped players list, but a new wave of talent may be needed to help Poland going forward.
Poland’s best efforts on the international stage came in 1974 and 1982, where they finished third in the World Cup both times. Once led by players like Kazimierz Deyna and Włodzimierz Lubański, Poland will now be looking for the wonderkids on this list to help them get back to winning ways.
Choosing the best Polish wonderkids of FIFA 21
To appear on this list, the players must be Polish and be aged 21 years or younger. What makes a young player a wonderkid is their potential rating.
Therefore, all of the players in this list are sorted by their potential overall rating. However, with dynamic potential, it isn’t a fixed rating, so you will need to help them grow into their talent.
At the foot of the article, you will find a full list of all of the best Polish wonderkids in FIFA 21.
Michał Karbownik (68 OVR – 83 POT)
Team: Brighton & Hove Albion
Best Position: LB, RB
Age: 19
Overall/Potential: 68 OVR / 83 POT
Value: £2.5 million
Weak Foot: Three-Star
Best Attributes: 83 Balance, 79 Acceleration, 78 Sprint Speed
Karbownik moved to Brighton in October 2020, but stayed with Legia Warszawa on-loan until January 2021. His only minutes for Brighton since the move to England have come by way of one appearance in the FA Cup and two more for the club’s Premier League 2 outfit.
Despite a lack of minutes at the top level, Karbownik has played for Poland’s national team three times and is yet to be a part of a losing side. Predominantly a left back, he has also clocked minutes at right back and in various midfield roles.
The 5’9’’ left back has good movement ratings on FIFA 21, with 83 balance, 79 acceleration, and 78 sprint speed. He also has decent stamina for a young player with a 74 rating. However, Karbownik’s 83 potential is what is most enticing as he appears to be a strong long-term asset for a Career Mode.
Jakub Kamiński (67 OVR – 83 POT)
Team: Lech Poznań
Best Position: LM, RM
Age: 18
Overall/Potential: 67 OVR / 83 POT
Value: £2.3 million
Weak Foot: Three-Star
Best Attributes: 92 Sprint Speed, 90 Acceleration, 75 Agility
Jakub Kamiński has established himself in Loch Poznań’s first-team, but has been unable to build from his inaugural season. In his debut season, 2019/20, Kamiński scored four goals and created five assists in 27 league games, whereas this season, his second season, Kamiński has only scored once and created two assist in 28 Pro Ekstraklasa games.
Kamiński predominantly plays on the wings for his club, but he has also spent limited time in both full back roles. A question could be raised as to whether Kamiński’s lack of improvement has contributed to Lech Poznań’s below-average season.
Pace stands out as Kaminski’s best attributes on FIFA 21. With 92 sprint speed and 90 acceleration, his impact on the pitch could be immediate as he grows from his 67 overall rating to his 83 potential rating. The only other attribute of note is his 75 agility.
Kamil Piatkowski (67 OVR – 83 POT)
Team: Raków Częstochowa
Best Position: CB, RM
Age: 20
Overall/Potential: 67 OVR / 83 POT
Value: £2.1 million
Weak Foot: Three-Star
Best Attributes: 83 Strength, 80 Sprint Speed, 78 Stamina
Polish centre back Kamil Piatkowski is due to move from Poland to Austria, having agreed to sign for RB Salzburg this summer. After two years at Raków in the top tier of Polish football, Piatkowski will be looking to develop his game abroad.
The Jasto-born 20-year-old is a versatile defender. Predominantly playing at centre back, he has also played at both full back positions and right midfield. Across his professional career, he has scored four goals – all from playing as a centre back – and has created seven assists.
The centre back position is not usually one blessed with pace. However, Piatkowski has 80 sprint speed and 75 acceleration in FIFA 21. His physical attributes also include 82 strength, 78 stamina, and 74 jumping. With a 67 rating and 83 potential rating, he may be a long term asset for your club, but his physical skills may allow him to make an impact sooner.
Jakub Moder (70 OVR – 83 POT)
Team: Brighton & Hove Albion
Best Position: CDM, CM
Age: 21
Overall/Potential: 70 OVR / 83 POT
Value: £3.3 million
Weak Foot: Five-Star
Best Attributes: 82 Shot Power, 76 Strength, 75 Stamina
As soon as Brighton purchased Jakub Moder from Lech Poznan in October 2020, the Seagulls loaned him back out to the Polish side; he eventually joined Brighton’s squad at the end of 2020. Since then, Moder has played 12 games in the Premier League, but is yet to score.
Moder predominately plays a central midfield role, but can play in defensive midfield or as an attacking midfielder if necessary. After making his debut for Poland on 4 September 2020, Moder has played seven more times for his country, netting twice.
Moder’s best attributes in FIFA 21 include 82 shot power, 76 strength, 75 stamina, 74 long shots, 72 short passing, and 71 reactions. Although playing as a CDM in the game, these stats are better suited to a role further up the pitch.
Moder would benefit from a position change, either to a CM or a CAM, where you would see his overall rating increase. He also carrie the Power Free-Kick and Leadership traits at just 21 years of age.
Kacper Kozłowski (62 OVR – 82 POT)
Team: Pogoń Szczecin
Best Position: CM
Age: 16
Overall/Potential: 62 OVR / 82 POT
Value: £975,000
Weak Foot: Four-Star
Best Attributes: 80 Balance, 68 Stamina, 68 Ball Control
Kozlowski graduated from Pogon Szczecin’s youth set-up academy in 2019. Throughout his young career, he has mainly played as an attacking midfielder. He has also made his debut for Poland, coming on as a substitute for the Orły in their 3-0 win over Andorra this year.
Making his senior debut at just 15-years-old, Kozlowski has already established a place in the starting XI just two years later. At the time of writing, the attacking midfielder has one goal and three assists across 20 games in the Pro Ekstraklasa.
With a 62 overall rating, not many stats will jump out when scouting Kacper Kozlowski. His 80 balance and Outside Foot Shot trait are the highlights in the sea of yellow 60 to 70-rated attributes. As such, Kozlowski’s 83 potential is the main reason why you might sign the young midfielder.
