- 8 All of the fastest teams in FIFA 22
A player with very high ratings in sprint speed and acceleration is essentially a cheat code in FIFA 22. So, a team that adopts the right tactics and boasts three, four, or even five high-speed players can be a nightmare to face.
However, finding the fastest teams can be quite challenging. Most players will know which of the very best teams have a player or two with a lot of pace, and yet the fastest teams in FIFA 22 are spread across all star grades.
To find the fastest teams, we narrowed it down to squads that feature three or more players with at least 85 acceleration and 85 sprint speed (termed here as ‘high-speed players’). This way, whichever team you pick, you have at least three very pacey options.
From there, the teams were sorted into tiers, depending on how many of those speedsters they have, and then by the average pace rating of their high-speed players. We’ve also included ideal formations and line-ups to utilise the speedsters available.
So, here are the fastest teams in FIFA 22, with the complete list of all of the fastest teams at the foot of the page.
Atlanta United, 70 Overall (5 High-Speed Players)
Star Rating: 3 Stars
High-Speed Players’ Pace Average: 89.00
Fastest Player: Jürgen Damm (92 Pace)
DEF/MID/ATT: 69/70/73
Atlanta United are the fastest team in FIFA 22. They have five players with at least an 85 for sprint speed and acceleration, and the average pace of those players is 89.00.
The stars of the show are Jürgen Damm (92 pace), Marcelino Moreno (89 pace), Jake Mulraney (89 pace), Luiz Araújo (88 pace), and Josef Martínez (87 pace), who can all be deployed in a 3-4-2-1 formation. Here, you have four of the five more advanced players boast buckets of pace, with another speedster waiting in midfield.
In 2018, the club’s second season in the MLS, Atlanta won the MLS Cup. The next season, they landed the US Open Cup. In 2020, however, their streak came to an end, finishing 23rd overall in the league to miss the playoffs.
FC Barcelona, 83 Overall (5 High-Speed Players)
Star Rating: 5 Stars
High-Speed Players’ Pace Average: 88.60
Fastest Player: Ousmane Dembélé (93)
DEF/MID/ATT: 80/84/85
They may have lost their greatest player of all time, but FC Barcelona still boast a talented batch of stars, five of which make the cut as high-speed players to land the club as one of the fastest to play with in FIFA 22.
Ousmane Dembélé (93 pace), Hiroki Abe (89 pace), Ansu Fati (88 pace), Sergiño Dest (87 pace), and Jordi Alba (86 pace) can breeze their way past almost all players on opposing five-star teams. In an attacking 4-5-1 formation, you get two flanks stacked with speed and a playmaker in the centre to send them on their way.
Barça have fallen on some rough times. After doing well to snag Memphis Depay, Sergio Agüero, and Eric García, and Luuk de Jong for free, they couldn’t afford to pay Lionel Messi even half of his wages. Still, there’re several strong young players left at Camp Nou who will be the foundations of the rebuild.
OGC Nice, 76 Overall (5 High-Speed Players)
Star Rating: 4 Stars
High-Speed Players’ Pace Average: 88.60
Fastest Player: Youcef Atal (90)
DEF/MID/ATT: 75/75/79
With five high-speed players and an average pace between them of 88.60, OGC Nice enters FIFA 22 as one of the fastest teams to use if you deploy all of their speedsters. Better still, a standard 4-4-2 formation can fit all of the French side’s fastest players in their preferred positions.
Narrowly ahead in the race is Youcef Atal, who boasts 89 acceleration, 91 sprint speed, and can play at either right back or right midfield. Next is loanee Justin Kluivert with his 89 pace, and then 18-year-old Ayodeji Sotona (89 pace), Hassane Kamara (88 pace), and central midfielder Alexis Claude-Maurice (87 pace).
Nice have been a top-half Ligue 1 side for the last six years, with their highest placing in the previous 20 years being a third in 2016/17. This season, while the results haven’t all gone the way of Les Aiglons, they only conceded three goals in the first seven games, scoring 15 themselves.
AS Monaco, 78 Overall (4 High-Speed Players)
Star Rating: 4 Stars
High-Speed Players’ Pace Average: 90.25
Fastest Player: Krépin Diatta (93)
DEF/MID/ATT: 77/77/82
While Aurélien Tchouaméni and Benoît Badiashile are establishing themselves as top talents for AS Monaco, here, it’s all about their speedsters. The Stade Louis II residents boast four players with at least an 85 pace rating.
The fastest player in the red-and-white strip is 22-year-old Krépin Diatta, who’s a right-mid with 83 potential and 93 pace. Next is Gelson Martins (93 pace), who can play on either wing, followed by 85-potential Myron Boadu (89 pace), and German 21-year-old Ismail Jakobs (86 pace).
Monaco are experiencing another upswing in Ligue 1, with the team padded by veterans like Wissam Ben Yedder, Cesc Fàbregas, Kevin Volland, and Djibril Sidibé. However, as we’ve come to expect from the Monégasques, there are also several top young talents integrated into the starting XI each game.
Leeds United, 77 Overall (4 High-Speed Players)
Star Rating: 4 Stars
High-Speed Players’ Pace Average: 90.00
Fastest Player: Daniel James (95)
DEF/MID/ATT: 76/78/78
Given that the manager, Marcelo Bielsa, enforces strict tactics of being aggressive, playing at a high tempo, and exploiting width, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that Leeds United boast several of the most rapid players in FIFA 22, making them one of the fastest teams.
That said, if it wasn’t for a very late summer signing, Leeds might have missed out on this spot. Daniel James, who just joined from Manchester United, brings 96 acceleration and 95 sprint speed – which is just ridiculous in-game. Along with the Welshman, there’s also Raphinha (91 pace), Rodrigo (86 pace), and Crysencio Summerville (88 pace) to let loose.
The Peacocks exploded back into the Premier League last season, with their unnerving attacking style getting them 62 goals and a ninth-place finish. This season, teams are wise to their ways, clamping out the wings to attempt to stifle Leeds’ aggressive, surging play – resulting in them going winless through the first six league matches.
Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors, 70 Overall (4 High-Speed Players)
Star Rating: 3 Stars
High-Speed Players’ Pace Average: 90.00
Fastest Player: Modou Barrow (92)
DEF/MID/ATT: 69/71/71
If you ever find yourself tasked with playing as a lower star or unknown team, turn to Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors of the K-League: they boast four high-speed players who have an average pace of 90.00 between them. If you play a tight game, you could prove that one of the fastest teams in FIFA 22, regardless of rating, can beat one of the best.
A 4-2-1-2-1 set-up, as shown above, gets Jeonbuk’s four high-speed players into an ideal attacking diamond. The fastest for the Warriors, Modou Barrow (92 pace), will terrorise the left flank, with Han Kyo Won (89 pace) down the right. At the top of midfield, Kim Seung Dae (87 pace) can rapidly join an attack, while 29-year-old striker Moon Seon Min will use his 92 pace to play off of the shoulder of haphazard defenders.
From the 2014 season all the way to last season, Jeonbuk were the champions of the Korea Republic’s top-flight all but once, with FC Seoul borrowing the crown in 2016. They stand as the record winners of K-League 1 and only look to be rivalled by Ulsan Hyundai this season, heading into the Championship Round.
FC Porto, 78 Overall (4 High-Speed Players)
Star Rating: 4 Stars
High-Speed Players’ Pace Average: 89.50
Fastest Player: Zaidu Sanusi (93)
DEF/MID/ATT: 77/79/77
Finishing off the elite set of the fastest teams in FIFA 22 is FC Porto, a club that features four high-speed players who average a pace rating of 89.50 between them. What also helps the Dragões stand as such a great fast team to use is that their fastest players sit nicely in the four flank positions.
On the left side, you can have the team’s star speedster, Zaidu Sanusi, with his 93 pace at left back. Just ahead of the Nigerian, it’s Colombia Luis Díaz, who boasts 92 pace himself. Things get a tad slower on the right side, but there should be enough speed to blaze past opponents with Wilson Manafá (87 pace) and Nanu (86 pace).
FC Porto are perennial top-two finishers in the Portuguese top-flight, usually depending on how far along they are in developing their latest batch of young stars. While Porto and Benfica traded titles from 2017 to 2020, Sporting CP finally gate-crashed the top spot to claim their first title since 2002 last season. So, Porto will be looking to reassert the status quo in 2022.

If you want to play as the fastest five, four, or even two-star teams in FIFA 22, be sure to pick one from the table above, and to start each high-speed player in your matches.
