    Genshin Impact Update 1.3: What You Need to Know About the Lantern Rite Event

    In the latest update for Genshin Impact, ‘All That Glitters,’ Liyue Harbor has become a beautiful sight.

    Lanterns light up the streets and float in the sky. Colourful cloths and umbrellas decorate the streets. It is the biggest celebration in Teyvat, and with it, the new event Lantern Rite has arrived.

    As of 18 February, the third and last act has been released, ‘Light Upon the Sea,’ which is running until 28 February.

    At the start of the event, the ‘Invitation to Mundane Life’ wish banner was made available, enabling you to get the new five-star character, Xiao. Since 17 February, it has, however, been replaced with the ‘Dance of Lanterns’ wish banner. Hopefully, Xiao will be available again in the future.

    How the Lantern Rite events work

    Before you can take part in the event, you’ll need to meet a few requirements, as detailed below:

    • Be Adventure Rank 23 or higher;
    • Complete Chapter 1: Act 1, Of the Land Amidst Monoliths;
    • Complete Xiao’s story quest Alatus Chapter – Of the Land Amidst Monoliths is a pre-requisite to Alatus Chapter.

    The event is divided into three acts:

    • Act 1: The Origin of the Lanterns
    • Act 2: Currents Deep Beneath the Lanterns
    • Act 3: Light Upon The Sea

    During the event, you will learn more about how the people of Teyvat celebrate the Lantern Rite, and you’ll be able to obtain Primogems, Hero’s Wit, Mora, and other rewards. There’s also an opportunity to buy different rewards from the Xiao market.
