What does it mean to stance a car?
To stance your car means to lower it as close to the ground as it will feasibly go without scraping crucial components on the pavement. There are several styles of stancing popular in real life. In the case of GTA 5, each car has a slightly different threshold for how low you can go.
How to apply the customization options needed to stance your car
Drive any car you wish to stance over to a Los Santos Customs garage. These can be found all over the map by searching for the spray paint blips that appear when not actively on a mission. Once inside, scroll down to the suspension tab of the menu. Select the best possible suspension you have previously unlocked to lower your car. Keep in mind that you cannot apply a competition suspension to your vehicle until you reach rank 71 in the progression system.
Bring your car even lower to the ground
If the new suspension does not capture your preferred look, there is a trick you can use to narrow the gap between the road and your car to a greater degree. Aim a gun at each tire and shoot them out one by one to lower all four corners of the vehicle. The car should sink quite noticeably when each tire is toast. While this will severely hamper your driving ability, it puts your car in the perfect state to show off in pictures. Note, if you have previously upgraded your car with bulletproof tires, you must deselect this enhancement at any Los Santos Customs before blasting your wheels.
