How to sneak in Dying Light 2

Dying Light 2 sneaking controls

To sneak in Dying Light 2, you need to press O/B to crouch, and then move around slowly by never pushing the left analogue all of the way forward. This allows you to move slowly and quietly.

You’ll want to use this technique at night and in dark buildings, particularly around Sleeping Beauties. Not moving slowly and quietly around these will almost certainly result in death.

However, you can still use R1/RB to vault up and jump on objects. Doing this will stir the Biters, but if you move on quietly, they won’t wake up.

While out in the city at night, particularly if you’re being chased, you can use hiding spots to stay out of view. To spot them, look for a gold aura or the eye symbol. Then, press O/B to sneak and move into them. Your character will automatically adjust to hide under a bench or crouch lower in tall grass to remain shrouded.

How to save in Dying Light 2

Dying Light 2 uses an auto-save feature and doesn’t allow you to save manually. During a quest, it will save at each checkpoint.

If you’re out and about, quitting the game and then returning will revert you back to your last visited or nearest Safe House. So, it’s always best to reach a Safe House before you quit if you want to save in Dying Light 2.

How to lockpick successfully in Dying Light 2

Dying Light 2 lockpick guide controls

Lockpicking is a key part of Dying Light 2, both in the story and in the open world to be able to open up special areas. You’ll always need Lockpicks, so be sure to pick up any Scrap that you see (use R3 to show resources to scavenge) and craft them within the Player Menu’s Crafting tab.

To make sure that you can get through Lockpicking challenges with ease, always use a light touch. First, turn the left analogue left or right along the top to set a place to attempt to turn. Then, slowly turn the right analogue in the opposite direction to the top Lockpick’s placement to see if it’ll turn all of the way. If it jams, quickly release the right analogue, adjust top placement, and try again.

With the Dying Light 2 controls and tips above, you should have your footing to explore the dangerous world of power-hungry people and people-hungry Biters.
