To help encourage more attacking and entertaining play in EA Sports FC 24, it’s quite rare that those who make the player ratings attach very high sprint speed or acceleration ratings to defenders – especially centre backs.
Luckily, there are still a fair few centre backs who do have a lot of pace and can go toe-to-toe with some of the game’s fastest attackers.
On this page, you’ll find all of the fastest centre backs in Career Mode who have a sprint speed rating of at least 81, acceleration of at least 72, and 70 agility or higher, including the likes of Fikayo Tomori and Éder Militão.
Keep scrolling to the bottom of the article to see the full list of all of the fastest CBs in the game.
Jeremiah St. Juste (Sprint Speed 96, OVR 77)
Team: Sporting CP
Age: 26-years-old
Sprint Speed: 96
Acceleration: 90
Best Attributes: 85 Jumping, 82 Interceptions, 81 Defensive Awareness
Boasting ratings of 96 sprint speed and 90 acceleration, there isn’t any doubt that Jeremiah St. Juste is the fastest centre back in EA Sports FC 24’s Career Mode.
Standing 6’1’’, St. Juste is also quite the physical presence along the backline, with his 85 jumping, 81 defensive awareness, 82 interceptions, and 79 reactions meaning that he doesn’t always have to be sprinting to catch up to attackers.
Despite only being 26-years-old, St. Juste can already be classed as somewhat of a journeyman. So far, he’s played for SC Heerenveen, FSV Mainz 05, Feyenoord, and now Sporting CP.
Last season, when he wasn’t struggling with injuries, St. Juste was a first-team regular for Sporting, having just signed for around £9 million from Mainz.
Jetmir Haliti (Sprint Speed 91, OVR 64)
Team: AIK
Age: 27-years-old
Sprint Speed: 91
Acceleration: 90
Best Attributes: 79 Jumping, 74 Agility, 74 Strength
He may only have a 64 overall rating, but Jetmir Haliti can certainly be useful at centre backs thanks to his incredible pace ratings of 91 sprint speed and 90 acceleration.
One of only two of the fastest centre backs in EA Sports FC 24 to have 90-plus ratings for acceleration and sprint speed, the sprint button on the 6’2’’ Kosovar defender can be used fairly liberally thanks to his 72 stamina.
Born in Växjö, Haliti is a first-team regular for AIK in Sweden’s Allsvenskan. In the top-tier division, he amassed 21 games last season, setting up two goals and sometimes starting at left back.
While he is Swedish by birth, the speedy defender’s citizenship is in Kosovo. So far, he’s earned one cap for the Eastern European national team, which came in November 2022.
Fikayo Tomori (Sprint Speed 90, OVR 84)
Team: AC Milan
Age: 25-years-old
Sprint Speed: 90
Acceleration: 80
Best Attributes: 92 Jumping, 90 Standing Tackle, 86 Defensive Awareness
Thanks to his 84 overall rating, Fikayo Tomori ranks as one of the outright best CBs in Career Mode who also happens to be one of the fastest defenders, clocking in with 80 acceleration and 90 sprint speed.
Playing for AC Milan, Tomori certainly won’t be cheap to buy, but on top of his speed, the Englishman is a very well-rounded defender with his 91 jumping, 85 interceptions, and 90 standing tackle.
Having impressed as a top young talent in Chelsea’s system – and proven his potential when on-loan to the likes of Hull City, Derby County, and Brighton & Hove Albion – AC Milan were happy to pay just £30 million in July 2021.
In the years since, he’s played over 100 games for the San Siro co-residents and has earned three caps for England’s national team.
Éder Militão (Sprint Speed 88, OVR 86)
Team: Real Madrid
Age: 25-years-old
Sprint Speed: 88
Acceleration: 82
Best Attributes: 92 Jumping, 87 Heading Accuracy, 87 Standing Tackle
One of Real Madrid’s stud Brazilians, Éder Militão ranks among the best defenders in the game with an 86 OVR and he’s one of the fastest centre backs thanks to his 88 sprint speed and 82 acceleration ratings.
As he also totes 86 defensive awareness, 92 jumping, 87 standing tackle, and 86 interceptions, it’s quite rare that Militão’s rapid speed needs to be called into action.
Having started at São Paulo in his native Brazil, Militão took the well-trodden route to Europe by signing for FC Porto. From there, it only took him 47 games with the Dragões to get Real Madrid to crave his signature.
Costing Los Blancos around £45 million in 2019, the investment has paid off big time. Militão already amassed over 140 games and 11 goals for the club, raised the La Liga title twice, and has a Champions League trophy to his name.
Hassan Tombakti (Sprint Speed 88, OVR 74)
Team: Al Hilal
Age: 24-years-old
Sprint Speed: 88
Acceleration: 85
Best Attributes: 85 Stamina, 83 Strength, 80 Jumping
If you’d be inclined to snap up one of the cheaper of the fastest centre backs in Career Mode, then Hassan Tombakti and his 88 sprint speed, 85 acceleration, and £4.9 million value should appeal to you.
Given that he plays for Al Hilal and will have to face the likes of Otávio, Allan Saint-Maximin, and Sadio Mané, Tombakti will need every drop of that pace, as well as those hefty 85 stamina and 83 strength ratings.
Born in Riyadh, Tambakti is a career Saudi Pro Leaguer. He recently made the switch from Al Shabab (who Yannick Carrasco plays for) to a team that’s comprised of Neymar, Sergej Milinković-Savić, Rúben Neves, Malcom, Aleksandar Mitrović, and Kalidou Koulibaly.
Despite being a staple of the Al-Shabab side, the speedy centre back commenced his run with Al Hilal mostly as a backup to the go-to duo of Ali Al-Boleahi and Koulibaly.
Calvin Bassey (Sprint Speed 88, OVR 74)
Team: Fulham
Age: 23-years-old
Sprint Speed: 88
Acceleration: 78
Best Attributes: 89 Stamina, 88 Strength, 83 Jumping
Outside of Tomori and Militão atop this list of the fastest defenders in EA Sports FC 24’s Career Mode, Calvin Bassey’s 74 overall, 88 sprint speed, and 78 acceleration help to make him one of the best to sign.
This is predominantly because of his very strong complementary ratings. Not only does the Nigerian boast 88 strength and 83 jumping to dominate aerial duels, but he’ll also be able to go at full pace for 90 minutes thanks to his 89 stamina.
The Italian-born Nigerian was part of Leicester City’s youth system, but jumped at a free transfer to the Scottish Premiership in 2020. Playing for Rangers, the left-footer won the title, the Scottish Cup, and warranted a £20 million move to Ajax in 2022.
For Ajax, he scored one and set up another in his 39 games, which encouraged Fulham to send a £22 million bid to the Dutch club and bring Bassey back to English football.
Eric Curbelo (Sprint Speed 86, OVR 76)
Team: UD Las Palmas
Age: 29-years-old
Sprint Speed: 86
Acceleration: 82
Best Attributes: 85 Jumping, 85 Stamina, 84 Balance
Finishing the top batch of the fastest centre backs in EA Sports FC 24 is Eric Curbelo, who rocks up with a 76 overall rating, 86 sprint speed, and 82 acceleration.
Being 5’11’’, but with 85 jumping and 80 strength, Curbelo does need to rely on his quick turn of pace and rapid foot speed in matches on Career Mode, but his 85 stamina means that he’ll be able to flip that switch throughout each game.
Bar a mini spell with SD Leioa, Curbelo has spent his career with UD Las Palmas. For the Spanish club, he’s played more than 150 games in the top tier and second tier, scoring six goals to date.
Now back in La Liga after a five-season spell in the second flight, Las Palmas’ slow start to this season can’t be credited to Curbelo’s performances as the defender born in Santa Brígida was left on the bench for the first six games.
