The efforts of Jürgen Klopp’s elaborate rebuild have started to bear fruit in the best possible way, with the Reds landing their first Champions League triumph since 2005 last year, and their first-ever Premier League title just a few months ago.
A historic club, Liverpool are finally where the older fans remember them being before the advent of the big-money top-flight of English football, and they don’t look to be budging anytime soon.
Having won the two biggest trophies on offer over the last two years, you likely would have guessed that Liverpool’s star players boast some hefty ratings, making them a formidable team to use in FIFA 21.
On this page, you’ll find Liverpool’s highest-rated goalkeeper, defender, midfielder, and forwards featured, as well as a full list of all of the team’s player ratings at the foot of the article.
Alisson (90 OVR)

Nationality: Brazilian
Best Position: GK
Age: 27
Overall Rating: 90
Weak Foot: Three-Star
Best Attributes: 91 Goalkeeper Positioning, 89 Goalkeeper Reflexes, 88 Goalkeeper Handling
One of the final pieces to Klopp’s puzzle, coming in after Loris Karius’ underwhelming 2018 Champions League Final showing, Alisson came over from AS Roma to give Liverpool a world-class and dependable goalkeeper.
Through 91 games for the Reds, Alisson has kept 45 clean sheets, only allowing 67 to breach his coverage through the 46 games where savvy strikers got the better of the Brazilian.
Liverpool’s shot-stopper comes into FIFA 21 as the second-best goalkeeper in the game, in terms of overall rating, boasting a 90 OVR at 28-years-old.
Alisson isn’t one for charging out, with his 91 goalkeeper positioning, 89 goalkeeper reflexes, 86 goalkeeper diving, and 88 goalkeeper handling enabling him to defend the net with ease from the line.
Virgil van Dijk (90 OVR)

Nationality: Dutch
Best Position: CB
Age: 29
Overall Rating: 90
Weak Foot: Three-Star
Best Attributes: 93 Marking, 93 Standing Tackle, 92 Strength
Possessing all of the traits of an old-school centre back, as well as the ability to pass the ball, few questioned the world-record fee paid by Liverpool in 2018 to get their hands on Southampton’s star player.
Towering a bit above 6’3’’ in height, Virgil van Dijk is a tremendous presence along the backline and in the opposing box, with the Netherlands-native already clocking 13 goals and six assists for Liverpool.
The FIFA 21 ratings have recognised the dominant defender as the best in the world, which is an apt assessment, rewarding Van Dijk with the best overall rating of any defender in the game.
Van Dijk’s size alone makes him a formidable defender, but his 90 interceptions, 86 long passing, 93 marking, 93 standing tackle, 90 jumping, and 92 strength make him the best in the game.
Fabinho (87 OVR)

Nationality: Brazilian
Best Position: CDM
Age: 26
Overall Rating: 87
Skill Moves: Three-Star
Best Attributes: 90 Penalties, 88 Stamina, 87 Standing Tackle
Alongside the likes of Bernardo Silva, Thomas Lemar, Tiemoué Bakayoko, Benjamin Mendy, and Kylian Mbappé in the wonderkid-stacked AS Monaco side that won Ligue 1 in 2016/17, Fabinho has long been recognised as a top talent.
Since joining Liverpool in the summer of 2018, the Brazilian has established himself as the team’s go-to defensive midfielder and has even been called upon to feature at centre back.
Fabinho continues to prove his skill in front of the backline, with the FIFA 21 ratings placing him as one of the best CDMs in the game, but still a few points off of his compatriot, Casemiro.
The 26-year-old’s strengths are in his high defensive work rate, 88 stamina, 87 standing tackle, 86 marking, 85 sliding tackle, and 90 penalties.
Mohamed Salah (90 OVR)

Nationality: Egyptian
Best Position: RW
Age: 28
Overall Rating: 90
Skill Moves: Four-Star
Best Attributes: 94 Acceleration, 92 Sprint Speed, 92 Reactions
Mohamed Salah has been nothing short of sensational for Liverpool, with his arrival and rise to prominence allowing Anfield to very quickly move on from what once looked to be a devastating departure of former star Philippe Coutinho.
Since arriving in the summer of 2017, with Coutinho moving on in the following January, Salah has notched 41 assists and 97 goals in 155 appearances – 43 more goals in 46 fewer games than the Brazilian.
As far as the best right wingers go in FIFA 21, Salah’s 90 OVR is only eclipsed by Lionel Messi, but he is still just 28-years-old.
The superstar Egyptian boasts lofty ratings for all of the right attributes to make him one of the best players in the game, including 94 acceleration, 92 sprint speed, 91 finishing, 90 dribbling, 90 composure, and 91 agility.
Sadio Mané (90 OVR)

Nationality: Senegalese
Best Position: LW
Age: 28
Overall Rating: 90
Skill Moves: Four-Star
Best Attributes: 95 Acceleration, 93 Sprint Speed, 93 Agility
Another of Liverpool’s key signings from Southampton, Sadio Mané has been terrorising Premier League defences since his switch from RB Salzburg in 2014.
Among the first players that Klopp signed for Liverpool, Mané has gone on to score 83 goals and set up 34 more through 173 games.
If you don’t think Mo Salah provides enough speed down the right side, switch the play to the even faster Mané on the left, who clocks in as one of the best LWs in FIFA 21.
With a high attack rate, four-star skill moves, 95 acceleration, 93 sprint speed, 90 finishing, 93 reactions, 93 agility, and 91 dribbling, there aren’t many defences that can stop Mané’s advances.
