In this article we will look at ALL of the best Wonderkid Goalkeepers (GK) in FIFA 23

FIFA 23-Best Young Goalkeepers

Two positions are of the greatest importance in football: the person scoring the goals and the one stopping them from going in. In this article we are going to look at the best young goalkeepers FIFA 23 has to offer and hopefully help you to find that shot stopper who can be the difference between winning and losing.

Goalkeepers often get criticised because their mistakes can be the most costly. Football is a game that rewards goal scorers far more than the unsung heroes that prevent goals. However, goalkeepers can be just as important to a team’s success.

Team: Southampton
Age: 20
Position: GK
Wage: £11,000 p/w
Value: £2.9 million
Best Attributes: 79 Jumping, 72 GK Kicking, 72 GK Reflexes

The first wonderkid goalkeeper in our list is Southampton’s Gavin Bazunu with a rating of 70 overall. With an impressive 85 potential, there is plenty of room for progression for this 20-year-old.

The Saints youngster also has 72 kicking and 72 reflexes making both his distribution and reaction saves of great quality.

Beginning his career in his homeland with Shamrock Rovers, Bazunu was soon picked up by Manchester City in 2019 but was unable to break his way into the first team instead of going out on loan at Rochdale and Portsmouth respectively.

Southampton, after losing Fraser Forster to Tottenham in the summer, opted to call Bazunu back from loan to compete with Alex McCarthy and Willy Caballero. Bazunu made 44 appearances in all competitions for Portsmouth last season and kept 17 clean sheets. He also has 10 international caps for Ireland.

Not to forget his 70 handling which will ensure he won’t fumble or drop the ball at key moments in the game.

The talented Belgian stopper currently plays for KRC Genk and has worked his way up through the youth ranks and has secured a future move to German side RB Leipzig in 2024 with a deal thought to be valued at £9m.

Last season Vandevoordt made 48 appearances across all competitions for Blauw-Wit and kept 11 clean sheets. Lucas Chevalier has a long way to go to be a world-class keeper. His 67 overall means he may be a player to hold onto for the future especially given his 83 potential.

The 18-year-old needs some time to grow but there are some good initial stats to build on. His 68 diving and his 67 reflexes are a great baseline to work with. Given time and playing experience, these will both improve drastically.
