- 8 All of the best right wingers (RW & RM) in FIFA 23 Career Mode
It’s not uncommon for a team to turn to an energetic young player to add some flair to the right wing, which has allowed many of the best young right wingers to emerge as world-class talents early in their careers.
In FIFA 23, speed is still the most potent factor on the virtual field, which is why many gamers seek to add young, super-fast wingers to their right flank, be it in the RM or RW role.
Here, we’re going through all of the best right wingers for you to shortlist in Career Mode.
Choosing FIFA 23 Career Mode’s best young right wingers (RW & RM)
Given that Leon Bailey, Ferran Torres, and Jadon Sancho all feature among the best young RWs and RMs in FIFA 23, it’s fair to say that there’s a lot of talent to go around.
To home-in on the very best young right wingers in Career Mode, we’ve sorted all players with RW or RM as their best position by their predicted overall rating, and then cut out any players over the age of 25.
At the bottom of the article, you’ll find the full list of all of the predicted best young right wingers (RW and RM) in FIFA 23.
Jadon Sancho (84 OVR – 89 POT)
Team: Manchester United
Age: 22
Wage: £130,000
Value: £100 million
Best Attributes: 92 Dribbling, 91 Agility, 90 Ball Control
Having secured a big-money move to Manchester United from Borussia Dortmund, Jadon Sancho has also earned himself the top spot as the best young RM in FIFA 23.
The Englishman’s predicted 84 overall rating is staggering at the age of 22, as are many of his best attribute ratings. Already, Sancho boasts 92 dribbling, 91 agility, 90 ball control, 87 short pass, 83 finishing, and 95 acceleration.
According to the press, the Red Devils have been trying to lure the former Manchester City trainee back to the Premier League for years, finally landing the move in the summer of 2021. Expectations are very high due to Sancho’s 50 goals and 64 assists in four seasons in Germany. However, he did not catch the eye in the 2021/22 campaign, only managing three goals and three assists in 29 league appearances.
He is looking like a brand new player under Erik Ten Hag and has already scored two goals in seven matches this season, including one against rivals Liverpool.
Ferran Torres (82 OVR – 90 POT)
Team: Barcelona
Age: 22
Wage: £100,000
Value: £59 million
Best Attributes: 88 Acceleration, 84 Attack Positioning, 84 Vision
With a positional bias of right wing rather than Sancho’s right-mid, Ferran Torres’ 82 overall rating sets him as the best young RW to sign in Career Mode – and his predicted 90 potential is rather good, too.
Torres’ talent allows him to be an incredibly versatile forward, with FIFA designating him as a right winger, but his attribute ratings allowing him to play across the front. Wherever he is, the Spaniard’s 88 acceleration, 84 dribbling, 84 positioning, 81 finishing, and 74 volleys make him a threat.
After joining Manchester City from Valencia in a £21m move in the summer of 2020, the Spaniard impressed in his debut campaign for the English giants, scoring 13 goals and recording three assists in 36 total appearances across all competitions.
However, he fell out of favour in the following season, before completing a £55million return to Spain, but this time with Barcelona in December 2021.
In the second half of the 2021/22 campaign, he did well to score seven goals and five assists in 25 total appearances for the Catalan giants and has already grabbed one goal in the current campaign as at the time of writing.
Torres is already labelled as one of the hottest young prospects in Spain, having scored 13 goals in 28 caps for the national team.
Leon Bailey (82 OVR – 85 POT)
Team: Aston Villa
Age: 25
Wage: £65,000
Value: £36 million
Best Attributes: 93 Acceleration, 93 Sprint Speed, 86 Dribbling
Jamaican speedster Leon Bailey has been amongst the hottest talents in world football for a few years, and now, with a predicted 82 overall rating, he will come into FIFA 23 as one of the best young RM players to sign.
With plenty of room to develop further, thanks to his predicted 85 potential rating, Bailey is already a menace down the flank at 23-years-old. His 93 acceleration, 93 sprint speed, 86 agility, and 86 dribbling make the left-footer unstoppable when driving into open space.
The Kingston-born winger has enjoyed a unique career path. Starting in Jamaica’s Phoenix All Stars Football Academy, Bailey then moved to the youth system of USK Anif in Austria, and then to the under-19s of Slovakian side AS Trencin. Still, it was the 2015 move to KRC Genk that allowed him to emerge as a wonderkid, which encouraged Bayer 04 Leverkusen to sign him, and then Aston Villa for £28 million over the summer of 2021. Since joining the West Midlands club, he has only managed three goals from 25 appearances.
Pedro Gonçalves (82 OVR – 88 POT)
Team: Sporting CP
Age: 24
Wage: £17,000
Value: £41.5 million
Best Attributes: 87 Balance, 86 Composure, 85 Stamina
Pedro Gonçalves’ 88 potential rating may have him come a fair few points short of the Cristiano Ronaldo standard, but the Portuguese right winger’s 81 overall already puts him among the best young RWs in FIFA 23.
With his current 84 attack positioning, 84 ball control, four-star skill moves, 86 composure, 84 reactions, 84 finishing, and 81 shot power, Gonçalves is that exact kind of winger that you want to have the ball by the corner of the box before cutting in to test defenders and the goalie.
In his time with Wolverhampton Wanderers and FC Famalicão after shifting to England from the CF Valencia youth set-up in 2017, it’s fair to say that Gonçalves struggled to showcase his true potential. In 2019/20, he mostly played as a centre-mid for Famalicão, but Sporting CP recognised his innate scoring ability and skill on the ball, signed him for £6 million, pushed him to the right wing, and then he scored 23 goals last in the 2020/21 season.
Gonçalves enjoyed another brilliant outing in the 2021/22 campaign, scoring 15 goals and recording 14 assists in 41 total appearances across all competitions for the Portuguese outfit. He has started the current campaign in style, with four goals and three assists in six league games as at the time of writing.
Dejan Kulusevski (81 OVR – 89 POT)
Team: Tottenham
Age: 22
Wage: £62,000
Value: £50 million
Best Attributes: 87 Ball Control, 86 Stamina, 85 Acceleration
Not only is the Swede among the best right wing wonderkids to sign in Career Mode, but Dejan Kulusevski also has a strong enough predicted overall rating (81 OVR) to rank among the very best young players to play in the position.
The left-footer with a four-star weak foot rating is built to be a speedy workhorse down the flank, currently boasting 86 stamina, 85 acceleration, 83 sprint speed, 80 reactions, and 77 strength. Better still, all of Kulusevski’s key attributes will continue to grow as he develops towards his mighty 89 potential rating.
Having joined Tottenham in January 2022 from Juventus in an 18-month loan deal that cost £8.3million, the Swede hit the ground running in North London almost immediately. In 18 Premier League appearances in the second half of the 2021/22 campaign, the winger bagged five goals and recorded eight assists, including two strikes in a 3-2 win over Manchester City.
He became a regular under Antonio Conte and helped them secure a Champions League spot ahead of the 2022/23 season. Tottenham moved to sign him permanently for a £33.5m fee in the summer of 2022. In the current campaign, he already has three goal contributions from six league games, having recorded one goal and two assists as at the time of writing.
Bukayo Saka (82 OVR – 89 POT)
Team: Arsenal
Age: 21
Wage: £42,500
Value: £39 million
Best Attributes: 86 Acceleration, 83 Dribbling, 83 Agility
Adding to the nearly never-ending stack of emerging English talents listed as RM or RW on FIFA 23, Bukayo Saka’s 82 overall rating puts him with the very best right wingers in Career Mode despite being only 21-years-old.
A superbly versatile player who’s happy to play down either flank from the full-back position up to the wing, Saka’s in-game ratings reflect his well-roundedness. The Londoner’s 83 dribbling, 82 sprint speed, and 86 acceleration are, naturally, the highlights, but his 69 standing tackle, 69 finishing, 68 shot power, and 79 crossing also become increasingly useful as he grows towards his 89 potential rating.
Saka’s is a core member of the Arsenal squad, scoring 13 goals and teeing up 22 more by his 96th appearance. He’s also carried his knack for getting on the score sheet to the national team, with the young Gunner notching four goals in 18 caps.
Over the past two seasons, Saka has arguably been one of the best Arsenal players and his importance to Mikel Arteta was highlighted in the 2021/22 campaign, where he featured in all 38 league games, scoring 11 and assisting seven in the process. He also won the Arsenal player of the Season award in 2022, for the second successive season, and became the first player since club legend Thierry Henry in 2004 to achieve that feat.
Viktor Tsygankov (80 OVR – 86 POT)
Team: Dynamo Kyiv
Age: 24
Wage: £21,000
Value: £28.5 million
Best Attributes: 85 Sprint Speed, 84 Acceleration, 82 Agility
Right midfielder Viktor Tsygankov makes it into the upper-tiers of this best young right wingers list by virtue of his 80 overall rating at 23-years-old – with the young player still able to grow into a decent 86 potential rating.
Speed is the primary asset of this left-footer in FIFA 23, with his current 85 sprint speed, 82 agility, and 84 acceleration surpassing his overall rating. Having utilised those to run past defenders, Tsygankov can then tap into his 81 ball control, 80 dribbling, 77 crossing, 74 long shots, or 75 finishing to deliver an end product.
The Israeli-born Ukrainian has been a part of the Dynamo Kyiv system since a very young age, making his way up to the first-team in 2016. In that first full campaign, he scored five goals and six assists in 29 games.
In the 2020/21 season, that tally increased to 15 goals and nine assists en route to him and Bilo-Syni winning the Ukrainian Cup, Super Cup, and the Premier Liga. Last year, he also had another prolific season with the Ukrainian giants, scoring 11 goals and recording four assists in 25 total games across all competitions.
He has scored twice from six games in the current campaign and will be eager to better his tally from last season. On the international front, he is a familiar name with Ukraine, having scored seven goals in 40 appearances since he made his debut in 2016.
