Gran Turismo 7: Fastest Cars

Here's your list of fastest cars in Gran Turismo 7.

Unlike in real life, Gran Turismo has allowed gamers for decades to vicariously drive cars beyond most means, including those that are not street legal. Many of these vehicles are not just expensive, but powerful. Gran Turismo 7 has no shortage of fast cars; in fact, all of the cars on this list have over 1,000 horsepower.

Below, you will find the list of fastest cars available in Brand Central for purchase based on overall horsepower (HP). While horsepower isn’t everything that comes into play when it comes to speed, it plays a substantial role. Most of these cars will be Vision Gran Turismo (VGT) models, though the final entry on the list is actually a drift car.

1. SRT Tomahawk X VGT (2,586 HP)

Make: Dodge
Country: United States of America
Price: 1,000,000 credits
Performance Points: 1,336.12

The fastest car in the game by horsepower, the Dodge SRT Tomahawk X VGT comes in with an eye-popping 2,586 horsepower. Its aerodynamic design and max torque were made to maximize the massive horsepower and top speed of the SRT.

The biggest question with any car with immense horsepower, but especially this SRT, is how much control you’ll be able to exert. A slight shift on the joystick at high speeds could be all you need to crash into the walls or lose control and spin out. A 4-Wheel Drive drivetrain helps, but it will still be a challenge. In any case, use this car with extreme caution.

The SRT Tomahawk X VGT is available in Brand Central. It, like most every VGT model, costs a cool one million credits.

2. VGT SV (1,876 HP)

Make: Jaguar
Country: United Kingdom
Price: 1,000,000 credits
Performance Points: 1,035.59

A car featured prominently in the opening video to Gran Turismo 7, the Jaguar VGT SV is no slouch, but still carries almost 700 horsepower less than the SRT Tomahawk X VGT. Still, the VGT SV has 1,876 horsepower. However, the biggest difference between the two is that the VGT SV has a longer, more full body that makes it weigh nearly 1,400 pounds more at just over 3,000 pounds. It’s also an electric vehicle, which is more common among VGT models in-game than other brands and models.

Now, that added weight could actually make for better control than the X VGT. Because of its massive power, having a heavier frame to stabilize the power should make for easier maneuvering in the VGT SV. Regardless, with any of the cars on this list, be cautious.

3. VGT (1,626 HP)

Make: Bugatti
Country: France
Price: 1,000,000 credits
Performance Points: 906.75

Modeled after the Veyron, the Bugatti VGT carries even more horsepower than its inspiration, and the Veyron is one of the fastest cars in existence. The Bugatti VGT carries 1,626 horsepower and weighs just over 3,000 pounds.

Because of its power, weight, and heavy brakes, the VGT also has a ridiculous torque of over 1,350 ft-lb. per 3,500 rpm. This should help stabilize the vehicle while also blazing by nearly every car in the game at top speed. Of the three thus far, it may be the best all-around vehicle even though its PP do not exceed 1,000.

4. SRT Tomahawk GTS-R VGT (1,449 HP)

Make: Dodge
Country: United States of America
Price: 1,000,000 credits
Performance Points: 1,140.56

The second Dodge VGT to make this list, the SRT Tomahawk GTS-R VGT has nearly 1,000 horsepower less than the X VGT model, placing it second of the three Dodge VGT cars. It has 1,449 horsepower and, like its counterparts, is very light at just under 1,500 pounds.

It has a similar body to the X VGT model, with a little more flare that identifies it solidly as an SRT. It’s a little lower and the curves not as pronounced, helping to explain a nearly 200 pound difference as well. However, you will probably still face control issues at high speeds because of its power and weight combination.

5. VGT (1,134 HP)

Make: McLaren
Country: United Kingdom
Price: 1,000,000 credits
Performance Points: 989.88

The second vehicle from the United Kingdom to make this list, the McLaren VGT does what McLarens do best: go fast. The McLaren VGT has 1,134 horsepower at just under 2,000 pounds. It’s also in the minority with two others on this list by having a visible rear spoiler; other vehicles on this list have the spoiler appear at high speeds. It’s also the only car with an MR drivetrain and one of only two not with 4-Wheel Drive on this list.

The McLaren VGT shouldn’t be as difficult to handle because while it does exceed 1,000 horsepower, it’s not far more than that and its weight should help with stability. However, its torque leaves a bit to be desired, but in any case, it will still be fast.

The McLaren VGT is available through Brand Central. It cost one million credits.

6. VGT (1,096 HP)

The mail icon for the Carrera GT next to the VGT indicates the vehicle is only available by invitation, which comes through in-game play.

Make: Porsche
Country: Germany
Price: 1,000,000 credits
Performance Points: 809.46

Porsche makes an appearance with its Vision Gran Turismo entry for Gran Turismo 7. The Porsche VGT has 1,096 horsepower and is the second and last electric vehicle on this list after the Jaguar VGT SV.

It comes in at just over 3,000 pounds, which will assist with control and stability. The weight pairs well with the drivetrain for the Porsche VGT.

The Porsche VGT is available through Brand Central. It costs one million credits.

7. BRZ Drift Car ’17 (1,037 HP)

Make: Subaru
Country: Japan
Price: 400,000 credits
Performance Points: 604.96

The only non-Vision Gran Turismo car on this list, the 2017 Subaru BRZ Drift Car gets the nod over the 2014 Ferrari FXX K by having three more horsepower. It’s the only car on this list with an FR drivetrain.

The Drift Car has 1,037 horsepower and 875 ft.-lb. per 5,000 rpm of torque. It’s the heaviest car of the bunch at over 3,100 pounds. As a drift car, it might not be the easiest to control unless you’re an expert drifter. Then again, the car would make a perfect choice for the drift trials in Gran Turismo 7.

The 2017 Subaru BRZ Drift Car is available through Brand Central. It costs 400,000 credits.

Honorable Mention

Here are some vehicles that just missed the cut, but still have over one thousand horsepower.

  • Ferrari FXX K ’14 (1,034 HP; invitation required to purchase)
  • Dodge SRT Tomahawk S VGT (1,006 HP)
  • Jaguar VGT Coupé (1,004 HP)
  • Jaguar VGT Roadster (1,004 HP)

Of course, the biggest issue in obtaining these cars will be their price and earning credits fast enough to make use of them. Just for the seven featured, you would need 6,400,000 credits to purchase all seven cars. However, once you do have the credits, will you go for the raw power of the SRT Tomahawk X VGT or go for something like the Bugatti VGT?
