Assassin’s Creed Valhalla: Easy Methods to Earn Silver Fast

If you’re playing Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, you’re going to need some silver. These easy methods will help you earn silver fast.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla has brought the vikings and desire for raiding and pillaging to the open-world adventure game’s latest installment, but what are the easy methods to earn silver fast?

You’ll need silver to do lots of things in AC Valhalla. Upgrading your horse costs silver, as does buying some equipment, and the regularly acquired supplies you’ll need to upgrade your gear.

You’ll also run into occasional times in stories that it can make things easier if you’ve got some extra silver on hand to pay off an NPC. You can even run into locals who have knowledge of the surrounding land, and for a few silver they’ll reveal certain things on the map for you.

Whatever you’re looking to do, chances are you’re going to need silver for it. Fortunately, there are plenty of ways to earn it as you’re playing, and a few where you and go out of your way to get it quicker.

1. Sell your supply of trinkets to merchants

Assassin's Creed Valhalla

One of the easiest ways to earn silver is to sell trinkets to merchants. As you’re going through the game, make sure to loot every dead body to get some trinkets and sometimes a little silver.

When you’re in new locations, search homes and look for breakable pots and boxes. If you smash these with your weapon, you’ll be able to loot the remnants of them and often score some trinkets.

As you build these up, make a trip to a local merchant or head back to your settlement if you’ve unlocked one there. Once with a merchant, you can sell all your trinkets in bulk to earn some easy silver.

2. Sell your unwanted runes to merchants

Assassin's Creed Valhalla

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla has introduced unique runes that can be socketed into your gear to provide specific bonuses. Some of these might give you special resistance or armor, while others will boost your attacks and damage.

As you make your way through the game and explore you’re bound to find them, but chances are not all of them will fit your play style. If you don’t tend to do a lot of stealth, you’ve no need for runes that boost your stealth or assassination damage.

If you don’t use fire or poison, what’s the point of keeping the runes that boost that damage? Look through your runes, and if one doesn’t seem like something you’ll use, just head to a merchant and sell it.

3. Bet on yourself in drinking and flyting contests throughout AC Valhalla

Assassin's Creed Valhalla

This method takes some skill, but it’s certainly not unmanageable. Within the game, you’ll come across drinking contests which test your timing and flyting battles which test your ear for verse.

Drinking contests get progressively harder as the game goes on, but all follow the same pattern of testing your timing in a short mini-game. Try an early one multiple times until you feel comfortable with it, and then search them out and place a 200 silver bet on yourself to make significant money from the win.

Similarly, you can also bet on yourself in flyting contests. These test your ear for rhyming and rhythm. It’s often best to say the answers aloud to see what sounds best, and a few quick wins can net you easy silver.

4. Explore AC Valhalla and search for treasure

Assassin's Creed Valhalla

This is probably the simplest way, especially because the map in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is there to help you along the way. Treasure, or wealth, is marked in yellow on the map.

There are larger wealth markers that show up when you’re more zoomed out, but if you zoom in further you’ll notice even more. Simply traveling to various towns and locations to seek out treasure will help earn you silver and items you can sell for silver.

If you complete raids throughout the game, you’ll also find treasure, silver, and trinkets to sell at those locations as well. You can follow our guide for tips on completing raids.

5. Try spear fishing

Assassin's Creed Valhalla

Our final suggested method requires a few skills and a little setup, but can net you some significant gains once you get it rolling. In order to pull this off, you’ll need to learn the Heavy Dual Wield and Auto Loot skills.

After that, you’ll need two heavy weapons, and spears work best because of their range. Equip them and head to an area with shallow water, not deep enough that you start swimming, such as Northwic in East Anglia.

Go into the water and start swinging your spears to destroy all nearby fish. With Auto Loot, you’ll get the fish and be able to head to a merchant to sell them. Simply repeat this process and you’ll score some fast silver.
