In this article we will look at the best wonderkids Spain has to offer in FM22, with Pedri, Ansu Fati, and Gavi being among the top wonderkids in FM22.

This list is focused on finding Spanish players with a minimum Potential Ability of 145 and, to be in the bracket of wonderkid, they will be a maximum age of 21.

At the bottom of the page, you’ll find a full list of all of the best young Spanish players in FM22.

Ansu Fati (149 CA / 189 PA)

Team: FC Barcelona
Age: 18
Current Ability / Potential Ability:
149 CA / 189 PA
Wage:
£105,000 p/w
Value: £207-271 million
Best Positions: AMRL, ST
Best Attributes: 19 Flair, 16 Technique, 16 Dribbling

The best Spanish wonderkid is FC Barcelona’s Ansu Fati. The 18-year-old has taken on the famous number 10 shirt and with his 189 PA, you can understand why.

Fati has some fantastic attributes across the board, and his 19 Flair, 16 Dribbling, 16 Technique, and 13 Crossing will make him an outstanding inverted winger or inside forward. He is very capable when shooting with 15 Finishing and can also cause trouble from range with 14 Long Shots. Fati has impressive 16 Acceleration and with 16 Off The Ball he will find space to cause problems for the opposition even without the ball.

The La Masia graduate is very highly rated by FC Barcelona, and is viewed as one of their most prized assets. Fati struggled for fitness last season, only managing to play in 15 games across all competitions, scoring six goals and creating one for his teammates. The 18-year-old has made four international appearances for Spain and has scored one goal.

Pedri (155 CA / 175 PA)

Team: FC Barcelona
Age: 18
Current Ability / Potential Ability:
155 CA / 175 PA
Wage:
£66,000 p/w
Value: £254-279 million
Best Positions: MC, AMRLC
Best Attributes: 18 Flair, 18 First Touch, 17 Passing

Pedri has some absolutely sensational stats for an 18-year-old and is already playing at 155 CA, so it won’t take long for this young man to reach that impressive 175 PA.

Pedri is a versatile player who would look comfortable in the centre of midfield or in behind the striker and can also play on either wing. His 18 Flair will join up very nicely with his 17 Dribbling to help him to dance past defenders who will be left wondering just how he got away. The 18-year-old’s 18 First Touch ensures that when the ball is played into him it will stick like glue. He also possesses 17 Passing and 17 Vision, and has the player trait Tries Killer Balls Often which allows him to find teammates at will and causes problems for opposition when they didn’t know they had any to begin with.

Starting his career with C.D. Laguna before moving to Las Palmas then on to FC Barcelona for a fee of £15.75m, Pedri was then loaned back to Las Palmas for a season. Last season was characterised by injuries for Pedri, though he still managed to make 21 appearances for Barça, scoring four goals and contributing one assist. Pedri has been called up to represent Spain on 12 occasions and will hope to be part of the World Cup squad later in 2022.

Gavi (130 CA / 174 PA)

Team: FC Barcelona
Age: 16
Current Ability / Potential Ability:
130 CA / 174 PA
Wage:
£2,600 p/w
Value: £43 million
Best Positions: DM, A MC
Best Attributes: 17 Flair, 16 Technique, 15 Dribbling

Another FC Barcelona player, Gavi is the youngest player on the list at just 16, and he has some truly incredible attributes for a player so young.

Gavi has some brilliant stats, most notably his 17 Flair, 16 Technique, and 14 Passing. When combined, these stats make a confident playmaker who is comfortable on the ball and can make difficult passes with ease. The talented youngster also has 15 First Touch and 15 Dribbling, which give him fantastic control of the ball.

Gavi is yet another La Masia graduate and despite his young age has already managed to break into the Barcelona first team. The 16-year-old made 46 appearances across all competitions for Barça last season, scoring two goals and creating six more. Gavi has also broken into the Spanish National side, earning 10 caps and scoring one goal.

Nico Serrano (108 CA / 169 PA)

Team: Athletic Bilbao
Age: 18
Current Ability / Potential Ability:
108 CA / 169 PA
Wage:
£3,500 p/w
Value: £14-21 million
Best Positions: A MRLC, ST
Best Attributes: 15 Dribbling, 15 Technique, 15 Acceleration

Nico Serrano of Athletic Bilbao has a low 108 CA, but that is offset to an extent by a very high 169 PA and the fact that he is far cheaper than the names so far on our list.

Serrano has a number of decent attributes. The first of note is his 15 Dribbling, which gives him the ability to drive at defenders, and given he has 15 Acceleration it will be at speed too. The Bilbao youngster also has 15 Technique, 13 Long Shots, and 13 Finishing so has confidence with the ball at his feet and an eye for goal too. His 14 Determination will also be of great benefit to his development, and with the right coaching and mentorship he could be world class.

Nico Serrano has been part of a lot of youth setups on his journey to Bilbao, with stints at Osasuna, Villarreal, and CD Roda before he eventually arrived at Athletic Bilbao’s academy for a fee of £270k. Last season he made 17 appearances for the first team and 16 appearances for the B team, helping his team with four goals and two assists. Serrano is part of the Spanish U19 squad and has played nine times for his country, scoring six goals.

Bryan Gil (135 CA / 168 PA)

Team: Tottenham Hotspur
Age: 20
Current Ability / Potential Ability:
135 CA / 168 PA
Wage:
£80,000 p/w
Value: £38–58 million
Best Positions: AMRLC
Best Attributes: 17 Flair, 16 Dribbling, 16 Acceleration

Tottenham’s Bryan Gil is available for loan at the start of the first season and, with the talented attacking midfielder boasting an amazing 168 PA and 135 CA, it won’t take too long for him to become a fantastic acquisition.

The 20-year-old’s stand out attributes are his 17 Flair, indicative of a bag full of tricks and flicks to confuse defenders, and 16 Dribbling and 16 Acceleration to glide past opposing defenders at speed. He also has some decent ability in other departments too with 15 First Touch, 15 Determination, and 15 Agility.

Bryan Gil joined Tottenham from Sevilla in a deal worth £22.5m and after a tricky start at Spurs, he returned to Spain in January, joining Valencia on loan. The 20-year-old made 20 appearances for Tottenham, with one assist in that time. At Valencia he went on to make 17 appearances and again registered one assist. On the international stage, Gil has earned four caps so far for his country.

Brahim Díaz (147 CA / 168 PA)

Team: Real Madrid (on loan at AC Milan)
Age: 21
Current Ability / Potential Ability:
147 CA / 168 PA
Wage:
£105,000 p/w
Value: £36–42 million
Best Positions: AMRLC
Best Attributes: 17 Determination, 16 Dribbling, 16 Technique

Another attacking midfielder to add to the talent so far, Brahim Díaz is well on his way to fulfilling his 168 PA.

The 21-year-old owns some great attributes in all three categories, though most notably in his technicals, with 16 Dribbling, 16 First Touch, and 16 Technique. He also has 15 Passing and 14 Corners, making him a dangerous option on either wing in a range of situations. Mentally, his 17 Determination will help to drive him to that fantastic PA, while 16 Flair means he has tricks in his locker to mesmerize the opposition. On the physical side, Díaz possesses 16 Agility, 15 Acceleration, and 14 Pace, which should put defenders on notice given his speed and ability to chop and change direction at will.

Starting his career at the Málaga youth setup, Díaz soon moved to Manchester City, where he worked his way through the youth ranks before earning a move back to Spain in 2019 to Real Madrid for a fee of £15.3m. Since then, the Spaniard has been on loan at AC Milan for the past two seasons. Last season he was part of the Rossoneri’s league title winning campaign, making 40 appearances in all competitions and contributing four goals and four assists. For Spain, the 21-year-old has only made a single appearance, in which he managed his first international goal.

Yéremy Pino (135 CA / 168 PA)

Team: Villarreal
Age: 18
Current Ability / Potential Ability:
135 CA / 168 PA
Wage:
£18,250 p/w
Value: £26 million
Best Positions: AMRLC, ST
Best Attributes: 16 Dribbling, 15 Technique, 15 Agility

Yéremy Pino plays for Spanish side Villarreal, and at just 18 years of age and already playing at 135 CA he is very much on his way to reaching his 168 PA.

Pino would look great on either wing courtesy of his strong left and right foot, and his 16 Dribbling fits nicely into this idea, especially when you add his 12 Crossing to the mix. His 15 Technique alongside 14 Passing means he is very comfortable with the ball at his feet, and is capable of finding the right ball to a teammate in a dangerous area.

Pino began his career at Las Palmas youth academy in 2016/17 before heading to CD Roda in 2018/19 and then moving on to Villarreal in 2019. He made 40 appearances for the Yellow Submarine last season, finding the net on seven occasions and creating four goals for his teammates. The 18-year-old has been called up to the Spanish squad four times and has scored one goal.
