Having a new Call of Duty release excites gamers to jump back into the digital warzone and establish their player archetype on new maps while using new weapons. I was pleased with my first few games of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 (2022) while playing with my friends. The nostalgic feeling of loading up “MW2” seemed to be back. We strung together some victories and the vibes were high. “T B00NE Pickens”, the objective workhorse of my team, prompted us to check the barracks to see what our win percentage was for our first day on the sticks. The chat fell silent as the boys tried to navigate the new menus. I quickly thought to myself: “Are they seeing what I’m seeing (or not seeing)?”
Over the microphone, a distraught T B00NE Pickens lets out “WHERE THE F*** IS MY WIN PERCENTAGE?”
Yes, that is right. There are no barracks, combat records, or statistics in this Call of Duty release (yet).
T B00NE said, “What is the point of even playing if I can’t tell everyone how good my win percentage is?”
Those who play Call of Duty with their friends understand that every team needs to fill different roles. There’s the gunslinger, the fragger, the demon, the top player who can carry your team to victory with killstreaks. There’s an objective workhorse who ends the game with the highest score but has the least number of kills. There’s the UAV, who doesn’t do much other than give comms the entire time (good and bad). Then there’s the bottom feeder who is just there because he/she/they doesn’t want to play a different game alone. Most players find a niche and stick with it. The gunslinger and the workhorse pride themselves on their roles of course, being the backbone of the team.

Did Infinity Ward just forget to add stats in their October 28th, 2022 release of MW2? Were they focused too much on the concerns about gameplay and movement that came from the beta? Was it a purposeful omission so that everyone can enjoy the game without the pressure that comes from the public display of your 0.8 kill/death ratio?
Upon digging a bit deeper, this was part of the plan all along. Season 1 of MW2 comes out on the same day, November 16th, as the Warzone 2.0 release. This will be a huge update for MW2 players as the statistics will be available, Season 1 battle pass will begin, and the highly anticipated Warzone 2.0 will be released.
So, with this information I leave it at this… the objective work horses, the T B00NE’s of the world, must hold fast, be patient, and stay strong. Your time for glory is coming in just a few short days.
