FIFA 20 Wonderkids: Best Spanish Players to Sign in Career Mode

Home to two of the biggest clubs in the world, which future stars of Spain should you be signing in FIFA 20’s Career Mode?

Winning the
European Championship in 2008 and 2012 to bookend a 2010 World Cup triumph,
Spain’s tiki-taka style of play has become the foundation of many of the most
prolific modern tactics.

Many of
Spain’s legendary players hail from the four years of triumph that the team
recently enjoyed, with Sergio Ramos, Carles Puyol, Xavi, Andrés Iniesta, Xabi
Alonso, David Villa all among the best that the nation has ever produced. Those
recent additions to the all-time greatest list join the likes of Raúl, Luis
Suarez, Fernando Hierro, and Francisco Gento.

Still ranked
in the top ten of the FIFA rankings, La Furia Roja boasts a strong squad with
even more top talents on the way. So, now we look to the next crop of the best
Spanish wonderkids to sign in FIFA 20 Career Mode.

There’s a full slate of all of the best young wonderkids from Spain in FIFA 20 at the foot of the article: those with the highest potential overall ratings feature in the main body of the article.

Choosing FIFA 20 Career Mode’s best Spanish wonderkids

The most
important aspect considered when picking the best Spanish wonderkids in FIFA 20
Career Mode is the potential overall rating.

Those that
feature in the body of the article have the highest POT, with the others listed
in the table at the foot of the article having a potential rating of at least
85. All players in the article are 22-years-old or younger at the start of FIFA
20 Career Mode.

Ansu Fati (OVR 73 – POT 90)

Team: FC Barcelona
Best Position: LW, LM, RM, RW
Age: 16
Overall/Potential: 73 OVR / 90 POT
Value (Release Clause): £7 million (£19.3 million)
Skill Moves: Four-Star
Best Attributes: 89 Acceleration, 88 Agility, 87 Sprint Speed

After impressing with four goals and three assists in six UEFA Youth
League starts last season, Ansu Fati found himself in the FC Barcelona first
team early on in this campaign.

Still only 17-years-old, by the Guinea-Bissau-native’s 18th game
for Barça, he had scored three goals
and one assist. In the Champions League group game against Inter Milan, he came
on with five minutes to go to score the winner and secure a 2-1 win.

Ansu Fati is
easily one of the most sought-after wonderkids in FIFA 20’s Career Mode. He’s
only 16-years-old at the start of the game and boasts a massive potential
rating of 90.

Still rather
cheap due to his age, Fati boasts a very strong 73 overall rating, with the
highlights being his 89 acceleration, 87 sprint speed, 88 agility, 83 balance,
and 76 dribbling.

Pedri (72 OVR – 89 POT)

Team: FC Barcelona
Best Position: LAM, CAM, RAM
Age: 16
Overall/Potential: 72 OVR / 89 POT
Value (Release Clause): £5.5 million (N/A)
Skill Moves: Four-Star
Best Attributes: 88 Balance, 87 Agility, 85 Acceleration

At the start
of this season, 16-year-old Pedri made his professional debut for UD Las Palmas
despite being in their youth team for less than a year.

Not even a
month after Pepe Mel gave him a start in the Segunda Division team’s line-up,
Barcelona came knocking. For £4.5 million, the Catalonia club swooped up the
Spanish wonderkid.

Like Ansu
Fati, Pedri is signed by many FIFA 20 Career Mode players due to his incredibly
high potential rating of 89.

Pedri keeps
a high overall rating in attacking midfield, on either flank, and as a forward.
His 72 overall rating is rather strong for a 16-year-old, with his 77 vision,
78 dribbling, 87 agility, and 85 acceleration being among his best attributes.

Mikel Oyarzabal (83 OVR – 89 POT)

Team: Real Sociedad
Best Position: LW, LM, LAM, CAM, RAM, RM, RW
Age: 22
Overall/Potential: 83 OVR / 89 POT
Value (Release Clause): £32 million (£73.5 million)
Skill Moves: Three-Star
Best Attributes: 86 Finishing, 85 Dribbling, 84 Ball Control

Since the midway
mark of the 2015/16 La Liga season, Mikel Oyarzabal has been a regular starter
and is presently the club’s vice-captain.

Now
22-years-old, the winger born in Eibar had reached 45 goals and 28 assists by
his 176th game. Due to his performances with the Reale Arena
residents, Oyarzabal worked his way into the Spain set-up and already has two
goals to his name.

Mikel
Oyarzabal is one of the more expensive Spanish wonderkids because he’s already
rated 83 overall.

The Real
Sociedad winger can go straight into your starting XI, with lofty ratings like
86 for finishing, 85 for dribbling, 84 for ball control, 83 for stamina, 83 for
attacking position, and 82 for sprint speed.

Dani Olmo (80 OVR – 88 POT)

Team: GNK Dinamo Zagreb (RB Leipzig)
Best Position: LW, LM, RM, RW
Age: 21
Overall/Potential: 80 OVR / 88 POT
Value (Release Clause): £19.5 million (£47.5 million)
Skill Moves: Four-Star
Best Attributes: 89 Balance, 83 Ball Control, 83 Dribbling

Despite
being in Barça’s youth team since he was nine, coming over from the RCD
Espanyol system, Dani Olmo decided to move to Croatia to play for GNK Dinamo
Zagreb when he was 16-years-old.

The Spanish
teen made his first-team debut just six months after the switch, going on to be
named the best player and the best young player of the Croatian First Football
League at the end of the 2018/19 campaign.

Towards the
end of this year’s January transfer window, Dani Olmo was signed for RB Leipzig
of the Bundesliga for £18 million. By the time of the move, 25 January 2020,
Olmo had notched 34 goals and 28 assists in 124 games for Dinamo Zagreb.

In FIFA 20,
Olmo can play on either wing and in attacking midfield. Along with his lofty 89
balance, 83 ball control, and 83 dribbling, the Spanish wonderkid has strong
ratings of 77 crossing, 80 agility, 79 shot power, 79 stamina, and 76 short
passing.

Marc Cucurella (77 OVR – 87 POT)

Team: FC Barcelona (Getafe CF on
loan)
Best Position: LW, LM, LWB, LB, RB, RWB, RM, RW
Age: 20
Overall/Potential: 77 OVR / 87 POT
Value (Release Clause): £13 million (N/A)
Skill Moves: Three-Star
Best Attributes: 88 Stamina, 83 Acceleration, 83 Sprint Speed, 83 Balance

Marc
Cucurella has been in Barcelona’s youth ranks since 2012, when he switched over
from Espanyol. Last season, he went out on loan to SD Eibar, and this season he’s
with Getafe CF.

Still only
21-years-old, Cucurella has already featured in over 60 first team games across
three La Liga clubs. The Spanish left-midfielder has three professional goals
and seven assists.

In FIFA 20,
Cucurella is incredibly versatile, able to hold a decent rating in any outfield
position, but he’s at his best down either flank.

You won’t be
able to sign Marc Cucurella for a while, due to him being on loan, but his
ratings of 88 stamina, 83 acceleration, 83 sprint speed, 83 balance, and 79
agility make the Spanish wonderkid one to watch.
