Although basketball values three-point shooting more than ever, dunking still has a place in the modern game.
In fact, it remains one of the most exciting parts of basketball for many reasons. It intimidates opposing teams, brings fans out of their seats, and, most importantly, it’s a surefire way to score a basket.
In the basketball gaming world, being able to dunk is also one of the most satisfying things for a lot of players.
There are a handful of high-flyers in NBA 2K21 who will not only help you win games but will also leave you in awe with their highlight-reel-dunks every game.
With that said, here’s a look at the best dunkers in NBA 2k21.
Zion Williamson (Driving Dunk 97)

Overall Rating: 86
Position: PF/C
Team: New Orleans Pelicans
Archetype: Slashing Four
Best Stats: 99 Vertical, 97 Driving Dunk, 90 Stamina
At only 20-years-old, many already view Zion Williamson as one of the NBA’s most important players for the future.
Best known for his electrifying dunks and relentless attack on the basket, Williamson did not disappoint during his rookie season.
He averaged 22.5 points, 6.4 rebounds, a 58.3 field goal percentage, and 0.7 steals. With plenty of upside and still untapped potential, if Willamson can add a three-point shot to his repertoire, he might be impossible to stop.
With a 97 driving dunk plus Contact and Fastbreak finisher badges on Gold, Williamson is one of the hardest players to stop in transition. Essentially, using him almost guarantees you an easy basket on the fast break.
At 6’6”, 285lbs Zion Williamson build is something that the league hasn’t really seen before. He has a 99 vertical and 86 speed, making him a constant lob-threat option to score in the offensive zone.
Zach LaVine (Driving Dunk 95)

Overall Rating: 85
Position: SG/SF
Team: Chicago Bulls
Archetype: Floor Spacing Slasher
Best Stats: 98 Shot IQ, 98 Stamina, 97 Vertical
Zach LaVine of the Chicago Bulls is another top dunker in NBA 2K21. The 25-year-old isn’t a stranger to highlight-reel dunks and is best known for putting together one of the best performances in NBA Dunk Contest history.
LaVine finished last season with a career-high of 25.5 points and 1.5 steals per game. Since entering the league in 2014, the Washington-native has developed into a much more well-rounded player and has transformed into a legitimate threat from deep.
On any given night, the Bulls can expect their young guard to get buckets, whether it’s from distance or by attacking the rim.
At 6’6”, he’s a good size for his position. Add that to his 84 speed and 97 vertical, and LaVine is a tough matchup for most guards to contain.
LaVine is rather polished offensively, with a wide array of ways to score; he is not a one-trick pony. With a driving dunk of 95, he is one of the few guards in the game that can posterize many power forwards and centers consistently.
Aaron Gordon (Driving Dunk 95)

Overall Rating: 80
Position: PF/SF
Team: Orlando Magic
Archetype: Interior Finisher
Best Stats: 97 Shot IQ, 95 Stamina, 95 Driving Dunk
Aaron Gordon of the Orlando Magic had a slow start to his NBA career but has gradually made a name for himself over the past few seasons. He is one of the more underrated hybrid small forward/power forwards in the game today.
In 2019/20, Gordon put up pretty well-rounded numbers, averaging 14.4 points per game, 7.4 rebounds, 3.7 assists, and 0.8 steals. It’s hard to believe that Gordon is still only 24-years-old, despite already playing six seasons in the NBA.
To this day, the former fourth overall pick is best known for his highlight dunks at previous All-Star Weekend Dunk Contests. As a result, it’s no surprise that he is one of the best dunkers in NBA 2K21.
With a 95 driving dunk, Gordon is almost impossible to stop when attacking the basket. Equipped with three Gold finishing badges, including Lob City Finisher, Gordon is also one of the best alley-oop finishers in close.
Andrew Wiggins (Driving Dunk 94)

Overall Rating: 82
Position: SF/SG
Team: Golden State Warriors
Archetype: Slasher
Best Stats: 98 Vertical, 98 Stamina, 94 Driving Dunk
Andrew Wiggins of the Golden State Warriors is another high-flying dunker in the league today. The 25-year-old is in his seventh NBA season and will soon start his first full season with the Warriors.
Since being selected first overall back in 2014, Wiggins’ NBA career has seen several up and downs. Despite capturing the Rookie of the Year award in 2015, many feel like he did not live up to his draft position.
During his six seasons in Minnesota, Wiggins only led the Timberwolves to one NBA playoff series and failed to get past the first round.
Although his NBA achievements are far from ideal, Wiggins remains one of the best dunkers in NBA 2K21.
With an 85 for athleticism and a 94 driving dunk, he is one of the best slashers on the Warriors roster. With elite shooters Steph Curry and Klay Thompson around him, you could use Wiggins as the primary option to attack the rim.
When needed, Wiggins has a good enough passing rating (66 pass accuracy) to kick-out to his shooters for open looks.
Derrick Jones Jr. (Driving Dunk 94)

Overall Rating: 75
Position: SF/C
Team: Miami Heat
Archetype: Athletic Finisher
Best Stats: 94 Driving Dunk, 93 Vertical, 90 Hustle
Derrick Jones Jr. is more of a role player for the Miami Heat today, but the 23-year-old really put his name on the map by winning the NBA Dunk Contest last year.
One of the flashiest dunkers in the game today, Jones Jr. is always a threat to make highlight-reel plays when given the opportunity.
We are still waiting for him to break out as an NBA player, so it remains to be seen if Miami will continue to develop him over the next few years.
With a 94 driving drunk, and a 93 vertical, there aren’t many small forwards in NBA 2K21 with similar attributes to Jones Jr.
Perhaps used as more of a second or third scoring option for the Heat, Jones Jr. can catch some bodies when defending teams overcommit on scorers like Jimmy Butler or Tyler Herro.
Unlike in the real NBA, you might consider giving Jones Jr more playing time on your NBA 2K21 roster, as he is one of the best-kept secrets in the game when it comes to posterizing opposing players under the rim.
