FIFA 22 Wonderkids: Best Young Left Wingers (LW & LM) to Sign in Career Mode

Playing in a more advanced role that regularly cuts into the box these days, left midfield has mostly morphed into the left wing, as a part of a trident of attackers. So, FIFA managers look for wonderkid left wingers who are speedy, good with the ball, and have an eye for goal.

On this page, you can find all of the best LW and LM wonderkids to sign in FIFA 22 Career Mode.

Choosing FIFA 22 Career Mode’s best wonderkid left wingers (LW & LM)

Many of the best young left wingers of world football are already starting for great clubs, with the likes of Ansu Fati, Moussa Diaby, and Vinícius Jr being fine examples of the quality of this batch of players.

To be classed as one of the best LW or LM wonderkids in FIFA 22, the player needs to be 21-years-old or younger, have left wing or left-mid listed as their preferred position, and have a minimum potential rating of 83.

At the foot of the page, you can find the full list of all of the best left winger (LW & LM) wonderkids in FIFA 22.

    1. Ansu Fati (76 OVR – 90 POT)

FIFA 22 Wonderkids: Best Young Left Winger Ansu Fati

    Team: FC Barcelona
    Age: 18
    Wage: £38,000
    Value: £15 million
Best Attributes: 90 Acceleration, 89 Agility, 87 Sprint Speed

Coming in with a 90 potential rating at just 18-years-old, Ansu Fati is the best FIFA 22 young left wing wonderkid to sign in FIFA 22’s Career Mode.

Despite his 76 overall rating, Fati boasts some tremendous, game-winning attribute ratings already. His 90 acceleration, 89 agility, 87 sprint speed, 79 dribbling, and 80 finishing make him lethal down the left flank and when cutting inside.

The Guinea-Bissau-born winger burst onto the scene in 2019, making his Barcelona debut as a 16-year-old. Since then, he’s scored 13 goals and five assists, as of the 43-game mark. Of course, Fati’s progress took a serious hit last season, suffering from a severe knee injury, but when he returns, the youngster looks to be the centrepiece of the Barça rebuild.

    2. Vinícius Jr (80 OVR – 90 POT)

FIFA 22 Wonderkids: Best Young Left Winger Vinícius Jr

    Team: Real Madrid
    Age: 20
    Wage: £105,000
    Value: £40.5 million
Best Attributes: 95 Acceleration, 95 Sprint Speed, 94 Agility

Not only is Vinícius Jr the joint-best LW wonderkid in FIFA 22, with a potential rating of 90, but he’s also among the fastest players in the game – making him even more valuable.

At 80 overall, the Brazilian speedster is already a mighty competitor in Career Mode. His 95 acceleration, 95 sprint speed, and 94 agility allow Vinícius Jr to best just about anyone on the field for pace.

Born in São Gonçalo, he came to the Bernabéu back in 2019, gradually improving with each passing season. Given his13 direct goal contributions in 49 games last season, the left wing wonderkid looks to have commenced his proper breakout campaign in 2021/22 – he already had five goals and three assists in the first seven games.

     3. Gabriel Martinelli (76 OVR – 88 POT)

FIFA 22 Wonderkids: Best Young Left Winger Gabriel Martinelli

    Team: Arsenal
    Age: 20
    Wage: £42,000
    Value: £15.5 million
Best Attributes: 88 Acceleration, 86 Sprint Speed, 83 Agility

If we’re splitting specific positions, Brazilian 20-year-old Gabriel Martinelli ranks as FIFA 22’s best LM wonderkid to sign in Career Mode, and is still relatively cheap in terms of value.

The Arsenal youngster’s 88 potential rating is the primary draw, but although his 76 overall rating looks quite meek, Martinelli does boast some strong attribute ratings. The right-footer’s 88 acceleration, 86 sprint speed, and 83 agility are a tier above his other ratings, so there’s plenty of room to grow.

Unfortunately for Martinelli, he joined a former Premier League great at a time of overwhelming growing pains as Mikel Arteta attempts to mould a team in his image. Still, he’s managed to put up 12 goals and seven assists to the 52-game mark, and featured in the starting XI in the early stage of this campaign.

    4. Christos Tzolis (74 OVR – 87 POT)

FIFA 22 Wonderkids: Best Young Left Winger Christos Tzolis

    Team: Norwich City
    Age: 19
    Wage: £14,500
    Value: £8.5 million
Best Attributes: 88 Acceleration, 86 Sprint Speed, 83 Agility

Honouring the days of football simulation games being loaded with Greek wonderkids, Christos Tzolis, of Thessaloniki, ranks among the best young left midfielders in FIFA 22.

Still only 19-years-old, Tzolis boasts a hefty 87 potential rating and plenty of speed to warrant a starting XI place, despite his 74 overall rating. His 88 acceleration, 86 sprint speed, 83 agility, and 79 dribbling make the right-footed winger a real handful.

Having only just joined Norwich City, much of Tzolis’ first Premier League experiences will come on the losing side of the scoreline. This is in stark contrast to his time with PAOK Thessaloniki, who only lost five of the 25 Super League games that the teenager played in – during which he scored six and teed up six more.

    5. Mikkel Damsgaard (77 OVR – 87 POT)

FIFA 22 Wonderkids: Best Young Left Winger Mikkel Damsgaard

    Team: Sampdoria
    Age: 21
    Wage: £13,500
    Value: £20.5 million
Best Attributes: 91 Agility, 90 Acceleration, 86 Balance

Setting himself up as Denmark’s next set-piece specialist, Mikkel Damsgaard is already held in high regard, leading to him becoming one of the best LM wonderkids in FIFA 22.

The Jyllinge-native is already a 77-overall left-mid, and while his 91 agility, 90 acceleration, and 81 sprint speed are the most appealing in a FIFA game, his 82 free-kick accuracy and 71 shot power make him stand out from the crowd.

Having switched from Nordsjaelland to Serie A in 2020, Damsgaard is still relatively new to elite-tier football, but has certainly been given plenty of time to refine his craft. This season, his second with Sampdoria, the Dane has cemented himself a starting role on the left side.

    6. Nico Melamed (74 OVR – 86 POT)

FIFA 22 Wonderkids: Best Young Left Winger Nico Melamed

    Team: RCD Espanyol
    Age: 20
    Wage: £10,500
    Value: £8.5 million
Best Attributes: 85 Sprint Speed, 85 Agility, 84 Acceleration

Ranking sixth among the best left wingers in FIFA 22 is Nico Melamed, who starts Career Mode with a 74 overall rating that can grow into a sizable 86 potential rating.

The left midfielder from Castelldefels is already quite the speedster in FIFA, with his pace both on and off of the ball making him a solid signing right away. Melamed’s 85 sprint speed, 84 acceleration, 82 dribbling, 77 ball control, and 85 agility highlight the Spaniard’s pace.

For Espanyol last season, Melamed was a regular feature, playing in attacking midfield and on the left wing. He scored six goals and set-up four in 33 LaLiga2 matches, helping the Barcelona-based team get back into the top-flight.

    7. Bryan Gil (76 OVR – 86 POT)

FIFA 22 Wonderkids: Best Young Left Winger Bryan Gil

    Team: Tottenham Hotspur
    Age: 20
    Wage: £44,500
    Value: £14 million
Best Attributes: 89 Agility, 82 Dribbling, 82 Composure

Rounding off the very best of the best LW and LM wonderkids in FIFA 22’s Career Mode, Bryan Gil is already rated 76 overall but can climb to his 86 potential rating if given ample game time.

Gil boasts high ratings in all of the key ratings for a crafty midfielder. The Spanish wonderkid’s 82 dribbling, 82 composure, 89 agility, 78 ball control, 74 short passing, and 77 crossing show that he has the makings of a high-level playmaker.

Over the summer, Tottenham Hotspur put down a cool £22.5 million to sign this talented 20-year-old. Warranting the fee was Gil’s showing in LaLiga last season, in which he scored four goals and three assists in 28 games for SD Eibar.
