- 8 All of the best young English players in FIFA 22
With the likes of Bobby Charlton, David Beckham, Bobby Moore, Peter Shilton, Wayne Rooney, and Gary Lineker headlining the history books, young English talents have a high bar to meet.
For the most part, the pressure has been too much for the first-team to find success, but individually, England squads have rarely been bereft of a few world-class stars, which is why the nation is so often scouted in-depth in FIFA Career Mode.
Here, to save you from doing the leg work, we’ve assembled all of the best English wonderkids in FIFA 22.
Choosing FIFA 22 Career Mode’s best English wonderkids
Featuring the likes of Jadon Sancho, Jude Bellingham, and Phil Foden, England looks to have a bright future if all of these wonderkids reach their potential.
Still, to be classed as one of the best English wonderkids to sign in Career Mode, each player has to have England down as their football nation, be 21-years-old at the most, and have a potential rating of at least 82.
At the base of the piece, you’ll find a complete list of all of the best young English wonderkids in FIFA 22.
1. Phil Foden (84 OVR – 92 POT)

Team: Manchester City
Age: 21
Wage: £110,000
Value: £81.5 million
Best Attributes: 91 Balance, 90 Agility, 88 Ball Control
Classed among England’s most exciting young talents for the last few years, Phil Foden manages to climb above the rest of the class with his 92 potential rating.
The 5’7’’ English wonderkid is already primed to operate just behind the forward line, with his 86 dribbling, 88 ball control, 84 vision, 82 positioning, and 83 reactions making him a potent weapon around the box.
Foden may have only made his England debut last year, but he’s already been leaned on as a creative output in Gareth Southgate’s ultra-conservative set-up. While his minutes faded throughout the Euros, few would argue that he’s set to become a core piece of the national team.
2. Jadon Sancho (87 OVR – 91 POT)

Team: Manchester United
Age: 21
Wage: £130,000
Value: £100 million
Best Attributes: 92 Dribbling, 91 Agility, 90 Ball Control
Easily the most seasoned of the best English wonderkids in FIFA 22, Jadon Sancho just misses out on the top spot with his 91 potential rating.
A menace down the right wing, FIFA players already fear this 21-year-old due to his 85 acceleration, 78 sprint speed, 91 agility, 92 dribbling, five-star skill moves, and 83 finishing. At 87 overall, Sancho is certainly worthy of a starting XI place on almost every team.
The Manchester City trainee played 137 games for Borussia Dortmund, yielding 50 goals and 64 assists, cementing him as one of the hottest talents in the world. His start at Manchester United hasn’t gone as smoothly as many would have hoped from the £75 million signing, but he’s got plenty of time ahead.
3. Mason Greenwood (78 OVR – 89 POT)

Team: Manchester United
Age: 19
Wage: £48,000
Value: £26 million
Best Attributes: 84 Sprint Speed, 83 Acceleration, 83 Shot Power
Still only 19-years-old, Mason Greenwood adds to a potentially stacked group of forwards contending for England caps in the future, coming into Career Mode as one of the best young players with an 89 potential rating.
Greenwood’s positional bias in FIFA 22 is as a right midfielder, but given his attribute ratings, he also makes for a fine striker. The Bradford-born wonderkid already boasts 77 finishing, 75 curve, 83 shot power, and 78 long shots, which only improve as he develops.
Having surged through the youth ranks as a sharpshooter, Greenwood burst into the first-team at 17-years-old, and has since racked up over 100 appearances and more than 30 goals.
4. Jude Bellingham (79 OVR – 89 POT)

Team: Borussia Dortmund
Age: 18
Wage: £17,500
Value: £31.5 million
Best Attributes: 87 Stamina, 82 Reactions, 82 Aggression
Taking a similar path to another English wonderkid on this list, Jude Bellingham has established himself as a grand young CM FIFA player with Borussia Dortmund, earning himself an 89 potential rating in FIFA 22.
Despite being 18-years-old with a 79 overall rating, Bellingham is already well-suited to starting in your midfield. His 87 stamina, 82 aggression, 80 ball control, 78 long passing, 79 passing, 77 interceptions, and 78 defensive awareness make the Stourbridge-native a superb box-to-box centre-mid.
Bellingham is already a locked-in starter for Dortmund, with 55 appearances, six goals, and eight assists to his name at the time of writing. However, this is yet to translate into many minutes for the national team, with only a couple of starts in his opening eight caps.
5. Noni Madueke (77 OVR – 88 POT)

Team: PSV Eindhoven
Age: 19
Wage: £9,100
Value: £19.5 million
Best Attributes: 92 Acceleration, 89 Sprint Speed, 86 Dribbling
Another of the best English wonderkids in FIFA 22 who has found that going overseas is preferable to waiting for a chance in the Premier League, Noni Madueke muscles into the top end of this list thanks to his 88 potential rating.
Stacking up the RM position for a potential English wonderkids line-up, Madueke starts Career Mode as an outright speedster, with 92 acceleration, 89 sprint speed, 84 agility, and 86 dribbling.
Having shifted from the Crystal Palace youth set-up to Spurs’ system, the Londoner then made his way to the Netherlands in 2018, quickly moving up the ranks. Still only 19-years-old, Madueke has already hit the 50-game mark for PSV Eindhoven, scoring 15 goals and setting up nine more by that point.
6. Bukayo Saka (80 OVR – 88 POT)

Team: Arsenal
Age: 19
Wage: £42,500
Value: £39 million
Best Attributes: 86 Acceleration, 84 Dribbling, 83 Agility
Also making it into the top-end of this list with an 88 potential rating is Bukayo Saka, who’s yet another RM-listed English wonderkid. Of course, the young Gunner is far more versatile than that would suggest.
The left-footed Londoner offers bundles of pace wherever you start him in Career Mode, with his 84 dribbling, 80 ball control, 82 sprint speed, 86 acceleration, and 78 positioning allowing him to be a threat constantly.
As Arsenal rebuild under Mikel Arteta, Saka is being looked to as a core piece of the puzzle – despite the hundreds of millions spent on his attacking colleagues. Still, breaking through from the youth set-up, the winger notched 13 goals and 22 assists by the 96-game mark.
7. Callum Hudson-Odoi (77 OVR – 87 POT)

Team: Chelsea
Age: 20
Wage: £77,000
Value: £20 million
Best Attributes: 87 Acceleration, 85 Agility, 83 Dribbling
With a 77 overall rating, 87 potential rating, and once again being listed as a right-sided winger, Callum Hudson-Odoi joins the upper-echelons of the best English wonderkids in FIFA 22.
At £20 million in value with gaudy attributes like 87 acceleration, 85 agility, and 83 dribbling, Hudson-Odoi comes into Career Mode as a top transfer target. As shown above, taken a couple of weeks into a new game, big clubs are ready to snap up the Chelsea talent from the get-go.
Understandably seeking a move away a couple of seasons ago, with Bayern Munich hot in pursuit, Hudson-Odoi is still struggling to truly break into the starting XI. He may have played over 100 games for the club, but his three starts in the first nine games would suggest that the English wonderkid is a bit of a fringe player.
