As the young attacking talent who make the game look so easy, the top young players in FIFA 21 are some of the most prized assets in the world game, and the game is riddled with future stars.
Here, we’re taking a look at the very best ST and CF wonderkids that you can target in Career Mode.
Choosing Career Mode’s top young players in FIFA 21 (ST & CF)
While outliers like Kylian Mbappé and Erling Haaland are already showing world-class talent, there are a host of attackers with high ceilings and high potential ratings – which are our main focus when looking at FIFA 21 wonderkids.
Those that feature in the article are 21-years-old or young, have a preferred position of ST or CF, and have a potential rating of at least 84.
For a full list of all of the best wonderkid strikers (ST and CF) in Career Mode, view the table towards the end of the page.
Kylian Mbappé (OVR 90 – POT 95)

Team: Paris Saint-Germain
Best Position: ST
Age: 21
Overall/Potential: 90 OVR / 95 POT
Value (Release Clause): £95m (£183.91m)
Wage: £144k per week
Best Attributes: 96 Sprint Speed, 96 Acceleration, 92 Dribbling
Kylian Mbappé is the best young striker on FIFA 21. For all of the accolades, including a World Cup trophy, on Mbappé’s resume, it’s crazy to think that there is another level that the 21-year-old could reach.
Even with hamstring injuries plaguing his 2019/20 campaign, Mbappé still amassed 30 goals and 19 assists in 37 appearances across all competitions. Mbappé’s physical attributes are close to the peak (if not already), so the growth is likely to come through mental and technical aspects of his game.
With 91 finishing and 86 shot power, one aspect of his game to potentially improve is his 79 long shots rating. Through careful consideration in your Career Mode training, long shots and his jumping (77), strength (76), and heading accuracy (73) are all aspects to hone for Mbappé to become a truly once-in-a-generation talent in FIFA 21.
João Félix (OVR 81 – POT 93)

Team: Atlético Madrid
Best Position: ST
Age: 20
Overall/Potential: 81 OVR / 93 POT
Value (Release Clause): £28.8m (£65.2m)
Wage: £46k per week
Best Attributes: 85 Agility, 84 Positioning, 83 Ball Control
Sold to Atlético Madrid for €126m from Benfica before last season, João Félix is not an unknown by any means. In Career Mode, however, it is his 93 POT that sets him apart from most of the other prodigies in world football.
Some critics questioned Félix’s start at Atlético in the 2019/20 campaign, with him only sealing nine goals and three assists in 36 matches across all competitions. Regardless, the potential is seen by manager Diego Simeone, who believes the Portuguese starlet has buckets of talent.
Félix’s potential on FIFA 21 matches Simeone’s sentiments, with strong ratings already in terms of agility (85), positioning (84) and ball control (83).
Félix has ratings of 80 or higher in over a dozen attributes, though dramatic improvement in stamina (75), short passing (77), and crossing (73) will see his overall rating soar.
Erling Haaland (OVR 84 – POT 92)

Team: Borussia Dortmund
Best Position: ST
Age: 20
Overall/Potential: 84 OVR / 92 POT
Value (Release Clause): £40.5m (£77m)
Wage: £50k per week
Best Attributes: 93 Shot Power, 91 Strength, 88 Sprint Speed
Few young players have captured the imagination of football fans the world over as Erling Haaland did last season at Borussia Dortmund.
A teenager towering at 1.94m, he was outmuscling defenders while also being quick enough to outpace speedy adversaries. Haaland became the first player in Champions League history to score six goals in his first three games, cementing himself in football history already.
Having turned 20-years-old in July, the sky’s the limit for Haaland. With two attributes rated at over 90 already (93 shot power, 91 strength), Haaland’s sprint speed (88) and finishing (87) make him a deadly marksman already.
In terms of Haaland’s potential, improvement to his heading accuracy (67), short passing (74), and dribbling (75) will see his stock rise even further, taking his game to the very top.
Jonathan David (OVR 77 – POT 88)

Team: Lille
Best Position: ST
Age: 20
Overall/Potential: 77 OVR / 88 POT
Value (Release Clause): £14m (£29.5m)
Wage: £26k per week
Best Attributes: 87 Sprint Speed, 84 Jumping, 83 Stamina
Moving to Ligue 1 from Gent, in Belgium, at the start of this season, Jonathan David is one of several hot prospects out of Canada in a new wave of North American talent.
Scoring 18 goals and contributing eight assists in the Belgian Jupiler Pro League last season, the time was right for David to make the jump to a bigger league, and the 20-year-old’s name is one we should be hearing for a long time to come.
While classed as a striker, David plays more as a centre forward or second striker, while also being capable of using his speed to play off of a target man in attack.
David’s athletic ability is unquestioned in FIFA 21, with strong ratings across sprint speed (87), jumping (84), and stamina (83) enabling him to fire on all cylinder for almost 90 minutes.
A capable finisher already, David still has room to grow with an 81 rating in that attribute, as well as in some of his other attributes, including his short passing (76), shot power (75), and ball control (78).
Evanilson (OVR 73 – POT 87)

Team: FC Porto
Best Position: ST
Age: 20
Overall/Potential: 73 OVR / 87 POT
Value (Release Clause): £8.1m (£21.38m)
Wage: £8k per week
Best Attributes: Finishing 79, Attacking Positioning 79, Shot Power 75
Sold to Porto for €7.5m, Evanilson is yet another wonderkid off of the Brazilian attacker conveyor belt.
Only playing 24 senior matches since 2017/18, Liverpool and Crystal Palace kept tabs on the 20-year-old despite the small sample size. Now, he looks primed to kick on to the next level after a couple of injury scares.
In terms of current ratings, Evanilson is a well-rounded forward, albeit with room to improve across the board. His 79 finishing and positioning underline his high attacking IQ, with potentially high ratings in short passing (72), ball control (71), and dribbling (72).
Evanilson’s recent move to Porto will make signing him difficult early on in Career Mode, so it’ll be worth keeping tabs on his development after the first season.
