FIFA 21: Tallest Strikers (ST and CF)

It often seems like the era of the tall, powerful striker is over, with pace and trickery more valued in forwards than physical strength and height. In FIFA 21, however, there is still a role for the big target man.

To help you find the next Peter Crouch, or perhaps just a forward to bulldoze defenders, we have compiled a list of all of the tallest strikers and centre forwards in FIFA 21. Each of our tallest strikers stands at 6’5”, being capable of climbing above most opponents.

Simon Makienok, Height: 6’7” (OVR 66 – POT 66)

After the soon-to-retire Stefan Maierhofer, the tallest striker in FIFA 21 is St. Pauli forward Simon Makienok. The Dane, who joined the Hamburg-based side from the relegated Dynamo Dresden, will be hoping to steer St. Pauli towards the upper reaches of the 2. Bundesliga.

It is perhaps a strange signing for St. Pauli, however, with Makienok being relatively inexperienced in German football. He joined Dresden from Utrecht only last season and made just nine appearances during his short stay in Saxony, scoring three times.

In FIFA 21, the 6’7” striker will offer you a real physical presence. His 89 strength and 82 heading accuracy ensure that he will be able to hold his own against defenders and provide an aerial threat.

However, he is not a particularly versatile player and his ratings will not improve, making it hard to justify signing him in Career Mode.

Paul Ebere Onuachu, Height: 6’7” (OVR 72 – POT 75)

Nigerian striker Paul Ebere Onuachu plies his trade in Belgium’s Jupiler Pro League, providing KRC Genk with a powerful frontman. He joined the four-time Belgian champions in August 2019 from Danish side FC Midtjylland, where he had been playing since 2012.

Onuachu has made an excellent start to the 2020/21 season for Genk, scoring seven goals in his first seven appearances. He also has the second-highest ceiling of all the tallest strikers in FIFA 21, making him a potentially worthwhile signing in your Career Mode.

Like most of the players in our list, central to Onuachu’s game is his ability to impose himself on defenders. That is reflected in his 87 strength, 77 aggression, and 77 heading accuracy. His 74 stamina and 73 sprint speed also ensure that he won’t be left stranded in a fast-moving game.

Henk Veerman, Height: 6’7” (OVR 72 – POT 72)

Henk Veerman has proven himself to be a very capable striker, at a certain level. The Dutchman spent last season with St. Pauli in the 2. Bundesliga where, despite scoring a creditable 11 goals in 22 appearances, he clashed with coach Jos Luhukay, making a departure almost inevitable.

As a result, it wasn’t a surprise when Veerman returned to SC Heerenveen at the start of the season, with his return to Holland a success through the early stages of the season.

Veerman’s 72 OVR rating is equal to Onuachu’s, but the Dutchman might actually have the better ratings sheet. The 29-year-old boasts a phenomenal 92 strength and he also has a narrow edge in the air, thanks to his 78 heading accuracy.

He can also be dangerous in and around the box, using his 77 sprint speed, 76 shot power, and 75 finishing when the ball’s on the ground. The rest of his ratings are a mixed bag, but he could still be a useful option if you run a lower league team.

Saša Kalajdžić, Height: 6’7” (OVR 69 – POT 76)

Arguably the most talented player amongst FIFA 21’s big strikers is VfB Stuttgart’s Saša Kalajdžić. The Austrian joined the Baden-Württemberg side in July 2019 from the Austrian Bundesliga.

Unfortunately, Kalajdžić’s involvement in Stuttgart’s promotion-winning season was limited, with the Austrian out of action for much of the campaign due to a cruciate ligament injury. However, he did feature after the pandemic break, and made an impressive start to life in the German top-flight, scoring three goals in his first three appearances.

Kalajdžić has the best potential rating of the tallest strikers in Career Mode, with the Austrian’s ceiling being 76 OVR. He is not one of the strongest players on the list, with a relatively low 78 strength, but he does boast a solid 73 sprint speed, 73 finishing, and 73 heading accuracy.

Playing to his strengths will be vital to get the best out of Kalajdžić – as is the case with all of the towering forwards on this page – but one thing that you can bank on is the Austrian being able to test the keeper more often than not.

Tomáš Chory, Height: 6’7” (OVR 70 – POT 73)

The last player to feature among FIFA 21’s tallest strikers is Czech striker Tomáš Chory, who is currently on-loan at Zulte Waregem after spending the past three seasons with Viktoria Plzen.

Chory’s last campaign with Plzen wasn’t particularly inspiring, as he only scored four goals in 27 league appearances. That said, he did make the majority of his appearances by coming off of the bench.

In Career Mode, the towering Czech can be useful. His 88 strength and excellent 80 heading accuracy mean that he will be a handful when attacking crosses from inside the box.

Chory can also be relied upon to be in the right place at the right time, thanks to his 72 positioning. In fact, he might just be the perfect option for a mid-table Championship side looking to bolster their options upfront.
