Here, we’ve got all of the best three-star teams in FIFA 22 listed, highlighting those with particularly strong ratings that seem to put them just that bit above the rest.

Middlesbrough continue to be on a rollercoaster ride that should eventually see the club back in the Premier League. However, this season, Boro look to be on the downswing, slipping from fifth, seventh, 17^th, to tenth over the last four season, and sitting in 15^th after 11 games of this season.

In FIFA 22, as far as three-star teams go, Middlesbrough are pretty solid. The trio of star players – Andraž Šporar (75 OVR), Dael Fry (73 OVR), and Paddy McNair (72 OVR) – can form the spine of the team. Around them, you can deploy Onel Hernández (71 OVR, 83 Pace), Darnell Fisher (72 OVR, 79 Pace), and Marcus Browne (67 OVR, 84 Pace) to be a real threat.

CD Universidad Católica are the perennial champions of Chile’s Primera División, winning the title four seasons in a row to tally 15 in total for the club. However, this season, with seven losses, two draws, and 13 wins, Los Cruzados trailed Colo Colo by the 22^nd-game mark.

Certainly a top-heavy team, you can construct quite the attacking force for a three-star team with Universidad Católica. With Diego Buonanotte (76 OVR) in CAM, José Fuenzalida (75 OVR) on the right wing, Édson Puch (75 OVR) on the left wing, and Fernando Zampedri (75 OVR) as the striker, you’ve got a mighty attack to deploy.

In just their second season as an MLS franchise, Atlanta United won the MLS Cup (awarded to the winner of the playoffs that take place after the regular season). In 2019, their third season, Atlanta snagged the US Open Cup. Last season, however, they missed the postseason altogether and might do the same this year.

Despite this, EA has given United’s players the ratings required to make them one of the fastest teams FIFA 22 when using the optimum line-up. They boast five high-speed players, including Jürgen Damm (71 OVR and 92 Pace) and Marcelino Moreno (75 OVR and 89 Pace), as well as a decent goalie in Brad Guzan (69 OVR).

Guangzhou FC, formerly Guangzhou Evergrande, are still the dominant force in China’s Super League. In eight of the last ten seasons of play, the South China Tigers have won the league. This season, they’re very much in the mix to retain their crown, but at the 14-game mark, an upstart Shandong Luneng had poached the top spot.

The constant contenders in the Chinese top-flight have several players whose overall ratings dip below the overall of the team, but have some very heavy players to balance things out. So, the four players who you want to get the ball to are Gao Late (79 OVR), Ai Kesen (79 OVR), A Lan (77 OVR), and Fei Nanduo (76 OVR) – all of whom are attack-minded players.

Playing in the Uruguayan Primera División, Club Nacional have been an ever-present title contender from the competition’s very inception. Since 2010, they’ve finished second on three occasions and won the league six times. Last season, their striker Gonzalo Bergessio scored 25 goals to win the golden boot.

It’s a good thing that age doesn’t matter in Kick Off modes as two of the best players for Nacional de Montevideo in FIFA 22 are over 35-years-old (Bergessio and D’Alessandro). Still, it is encouraging to see the goalkeeper Sergio Rochet (76 OVR) as the team’s highest-rated player.

Since coming up from the third tier of Spanish football, CD Tenerife have been distinctly middling in all but one Segunda División campaign. Back in 2016/17, they climbed to fourth, but since then, it’s been bottom-half finishes for Chicharrero. That said, the early stages of this season saw Tenerife in the mix for promotion places.

Headlining the show for Tenerife isn’t their top-rated striker (Gallego, 73 OVR), but rather their right back, Shaquell Moore (72 OVR). The American’s overall rating makes him one of the top players, but his 87 pace makes him the most useful in FIFA 22. In a similar vein, you could also turn to versatile English attacker Samuel Shashoua (69 OVR, 86 Pace).

Rosario Central (3 Stars), Overall 70

Rosario Central have been a slightly less than middling team in their time in the Argentine Primera División, with the highlights being their Copa Libertadores qualification in 2017/18 and a ninth-place finish in 2019/20. So far this season, it looks like business as usual, sitting 17^th after 14 games.

Still, there’s plenty to like about Rosario Central in FIFA 22, with you being capable of starting ten players rated at 71 overall or above. Headlining the ratings is creative midfielder Emiliano Vecchio (76 OVR), but you’ll certainly look to feed the 88 pace of Lucas Gamba (74 OVR) whenever the forward has some space ahead of him.
